Chapter 52: That Welcome Wasn’t For Him

As planned, they finally traveled to Mocoado by plane. They sat in business class, and even for Axel’s airfare, Daren paid for it.

"I brought you, so I’ll pay for it. So you..."

"That’s good, because that’s the way it should be," Axel replied, cutting off Daren’s remark about the fees for business class.

He rolled his eyes at Axel’s interruption. Even so, he was happy to be sitting alone with the man. Imagining that this trip would be a vacation for the two of them.

Daren deliberately didn’t book a seat near Barney and Ivan. He didn’t want to be distracted during the trip by seeing the two of them talking about Marabella.

The plane ride from Zondalia to Mocoado took 8 hours. Until finally they arrived in the big country, the third country that became the center of the world after Zondalia and Dormania.

"Are we going in their car?" Axel asked Daren.

"No, we’ll rent our own car. Because we’ll definitely need it to get around," he replied.

"Are you sure you don’t want to come in this car, Daren?" asked Ivan as their car had arrived first.

Ivan suggested that they both stay together in the car to the hotel. If they wanted to rent a car later, they could do so at the hotel.

Hearing this, Daren finally agreed and joined Ivan and his father in the car. While in the car, Daren just kept looking out the window.

"This city looks really nice, doesn’t it? Later we will take a walk to see around here," said the Beta man.

"Yes, I can’t wait to walk around this city," replied Daren who was still looking out the window.

They arrived at the hotel where they were staying. It turned out that there was already a hotel manager who welcomed them. When Barney and Ivan entered the hotel, they were greeted very friendly by the Manager and other hotel employees.

"Welcome Mr. Wyne, it is an honor to receive you at our hotel," said the manager while shaking Barney’s hand.

"Thank you, I am also pleased to be welcomed into the hotel. I hope the service is excellent and does not disappoint," said Barney.

"Of course, our service is definitely the best!" the Hotel Manager always turned to Ivan who was standing next to Barney and shook his hand as well.

"Are you Mr. Barney’s secretary?"

"No, I’m the new manager at Marabella. Nice to meet you sir," Ivan said kindly with a smile.

Daren and Axel, who were standing nearby, just noticed how the Hotel Manager was being so friendly to Barney and Ivan.

The man then looked at Daren and Axel who had also arrived at the same time as Barney.

"What about the two of them?" he asked because he didn’t know about Daren, Barney’s son.

But before he could answer that question, Barney asked the manager to show him his room. He said that he was very tired. Especially since they arrived at night.

He seemed to be trying to ignore Daren’s existence, and he also didn’t want others to know about him.

"Come on Daren, let’s go to our room," Ivan said as he tugged on his best friend’s hand.

However, Daren pulled his hand away from Ivan again, which made the man feel confused.

"Daren, what’s wrong?"

"You go ahead, I need to book a room at this hotel. I’m sure yours and my father’s rooms were chosen to be prepared from the start," he replied, asking Ivan to go first.

He was sure that the hotel had prepared rooms for Barney and Ivan but not for him. They didn’t even know who he was, how could they prepare a room for him?

After they left, Daren and Axel finally went to the front desk to book a room together, but with two beds.

"Room number 456 on the 4th floor, Mr... Wyne?" said the receptionist who was a bit confused because Daren’s last name was the same as their guest of honor.

"Thank you."

The two of them entered the elevator to go to their hotel room.

"You could have gotten a nicer room if you only had to choose one bed. But you chose a regular room with two beds instead," Axel said as they entered the room they had booked.

"I don’t want you to keep sleeping on the sofa every time we go to a hotel. Besides, I don’t need a room that’s too fancy, this is enough for me. There’s a bed to sleep on, a balcony to look out from, a TV, a refrigerator and a bathroom. What else is missing?"

Axel sighed, letting Daren choose as he pleased. But he was relieved that he didn’t need to sleep on the sofa anymore.

"It’s already 8:12pm. Maybe we should look for something for dinner, what’s on the menu?" Daren asked and found the food list on the table near the phone.

Although he seemed to be acting as normal as usual. But Axel could still see that there was a feeling of disappointment in Daren when the hotel manager asked about him but Barney tried to change the subject so that the hotel manager didn’t need to know who Daren was.

’Even though he hates his father so much, I know that there is still pain when someone who is still family doesn’t consider his existence,’ he thought at the time because I myself felt what Daren felt when his mother was alive.

"You go take a shower, and I’ll order the food. What do you want?" asked the Alpha, approaching the Omega who was busy looking at the food list.

After a brief discussion, they ordered dinner and then took turns showering while waiting for their dinner to arrive.

"It feels so refreshing," said Daren as he soaked himself in the bathtub, feeling so relieved after the exhaustion of the trip.

Now he just needed to think of a plan for tomorrow when he went out with Axel. He wanted to go somewhere fun with him. Thinking that maybe afterward, Axel would that the Alpha liked him.

"I’ll make sure this vacation is more fun!"

When their dinner came, Daren seemed to be enjoying his food very much. He was even humming while eating the sausage on his plate.

"The sausage is so big, it doesn’t even seem to fit in my mouth," he commented as he stabbed the sausage with a fork and put it in his mouth.

But suddenly Axel interjected, making Daren choke in surprise.

"If a sausage that big doesn’t fit in your mouth, what about mine?" he said suddenly.

Daren immediately coughed when he heard that sentence. He then turned to his bodyguard who was still eating his dinner casually and even his face still looked very flat.

"What did you say earlier?"
