Chapter 50: A Feeling For Him?

One year has passed since Axel’s arrival in Daren’s life, he didn’t think that the man would be his bodyguard for that long.

Because usually they only last for 3 months, then resign because they can’t stand Daren’s behavior. Unlike Axel who could actually make the Omega silent, not even daring to fight him.

However, it actually brought a change in Daren because there was a feeling that emerged without him realizing it.

"Hey, can we talk?" Daren asked Axel who was looking at the street when they had just bought coffee at the cafe.

He turned around while drinking his coffee and nodded his head. Daren leaned against the car right next to Axel and drank his coffee.

"You know we’ve been together for almost a year now, I didn’t expect you to last that long," he said in a quiet voice.

"Yeah, I didn’t expect to be with someone like you either," Axel commented and sighed.

Daren chuckled, he then looked towards the street where cars were passing by.

"You were annoying at first, but I’m slowly getting used to you. And it seems that there are other feelings arising in me because of that."

The Alpha male turned to him, and stared with a somewhat surprised look, but he tried to remain calm.

"I don’t know about you, but all this time, when I was outside, you were the only one I trusted. When Ivan and Mike weren’t around, I had you. And you always just knew what I was feeling. You were always there whenever I needed someone near me," he said as he returned Axel’s gaze and smiled.

"It might sound really silly but, I think I’m starting to like you. I’m not sure when but..."

Before Daren could finish speaking, Axel suddenly pulled his head back and kissed him deeply on the lips. It was their second kiss that made Daren’s heart beat so fast and he drowned in the warm kiss.

"Axel..."

Beep Beep Beep

The alarm went off waking Daren from his sleep, making him realize that it was all a dream. He dreamt that he confessed his feelings to Axel, and he accepted. But unfortunately it was just a dream.

He sat up with his face still flushed from the dream.

"How annoying!" he shouted in the morning, causing Mike, who was at the door, to run inside.

"Young Master, what’s wrong?" he asked frantically, making Daren ashamed of himself for screaming just because he realized it was all a dream.

That morning he cleaned up and prepared to have breakfast with his family again. Although his relationship with Barney had not improved, his mother wanted Daren to eat with them again.

But that morning, when he went downstairs to the main floor dining room, he saw his father laughing and talking to a man who was none other than Ivan.

"What’s he doing here?" Axel whispered to Mike when he saw the Beta man sitting in the chair Daren was supposed to be in on the left side of Barney.

"I’m not sure, but I heard that Master wants Mr. Ivan to stay with us. He said Mr. Ivan is already part of the family so he wants them to spend time together like family," Mike replied as he himself felt this was ridiculous.

He didn’t hate or dislike Ivan, but when he heard from his father that Barney wanted Ivan to be with them, he thought it was ridiculous. Why was Ivan treated like his son but not his own biological son Daren.

In the end, the blonde Omega sat next to his mother, trying not to comment on anything they said.

Axel and Mike stood behind Daren as if ready to wait for his orders. Daren’s parents’ personal butlers and maids were also present.

"So the day after tomorrow we’re going to Mocoado to meet our new partner. I’m going to introduce you to him, so you better prepare yourself," Barney said with a laugh and a pat on Ivan’s shoulder.

"Alright sir, I’ll prepare myself so as not to disappoint you there." Ivan smiled and then turned to Daren who was just silent while eating his breakfast.

"How about you come with us? You said you wanted to go to Mocoado, right? There are many good places to take a vacation. It just so happens that Mr. Barney and I are going there, so how about you come with us too?" he then invited Daren to come with them.

He raised his head and glanced at Ivan who was engaging him in conversation.

"I don’t want to interfere with your work. Especially since it’s a business trip, why would I go since I’m not even important enough to go on this trip," he replied with a slight hint to his father that he was indeed considered unimportant by the man.

"You’re not bothering at all! We can take a vacation together even if it’s just for a day or two after my work is done. Come with us Daren," the Beta man invited again.

It bothered him a bit but he couldn’t refuse Ivan’s invitation, as he didn’t want to ruin their friendship again. Besides, he could still go on vacation with Axel until Ivan finished work.

Seeing her son continue to refuse, Viona tried to answer that Daren didn’t want to come. Even she had never trusted Ivan as Daren’s best friend since he had meddled so much in their family affairs.

"Daren said that he doesn’t want to, so you should stop forcing his will."

"It’s okay mom, I’ll still come," Daren said.

The brunette smiled and was happy that Daren wanted to go on vacation with him, although Barney seemed to have no comment and only said that Ivan should focus on his work and not do anything unimportant.

"Take it easy Mr. Barney, I’ll take Daren for a walk after all the work is done."

"Yes, and while you’re at it I’ll take a walk with Axel," he said.

When he heard Axel’s name mentioned, Ivan felt like disagreeing because why should the Alpha male be taken when he was there. Daren reasoned that Axel was his bodyguard and wherever he went the man should be nearby.

"Well if that’s what you want, I think it’s a good idea if you really want to bring him along. So you’re not lonely while you’re taking care of my work," Ivan replied.

They then fell back into silence and continued with their breakfast.

After breakfast, Daren invited Mike to play tennis in the backyard of the mansion. Mike agreed and they prepared the equipment to play.

Meanwhile, Ivan and Axel were just watching the game between Mike and Daren. They stood next to each other and watched how Daren played the tennis.

"Looks like your relationship with Daren is very close, huh? When I first met you, Daren never wanted to be around you and kept trying to avoid you. But now he wants to be close to you," Ivan commented as he continued to watch the scene before him.

"What’s wrong with that? He already trusts me just as much as I’m getting used to him. There’s nothing wrong with him getting used to a bodyguard like me. Besides, he’s not such a bad Omega after all," Axel replied, making Ivan turn to him.

For a moment they were both silent until Ivan finally spoke again.

"You’re not starting to like him are you?"
