Chapter 44: I Don’t Want To Go Home

When Axel arrived at the hill where he and Daren used to relax, he saw the man sitting under a tree hugging his legs. He buried his face in his knees as if he was sleeping under the tree.

"He’s always like that," Axel complained under his breath and got out of the car.

At the sound of an oncoming car, Daren woke up and was surprised to see his bodyguard walking towards him. He was about to run away but the man immediately caught his body by hugging him from behind.

"Where are you going huh? You deliberately made a scene this morning by running away?"

"How did you know I was here? I thought no one would know I was here!" replied Daren as he tried to break away but Axel’s embrace pulled him closer until his back touched the Alpha’s broad chest.

Axel brought his lips to Daren’s ear and whispered, "I will always know where you are. Because I won’t just let you go."

The whisper instantly sent Daren’s body shivering to his spine. His ears turned red, listening to the whisper that was so filled with something he couldn’t describe.

His heart was beating so fast, he didn’t know what else to do. He felt that what he was doing to him made him not want to go far away from him.

Daren did not understand the feelings he currently had for the Bodyguard, but whenever the man touched him, he felt safe especially when smelling his pheromones around him.

’This can’t be right? I can’t possibly like an Alpha like him. He’s so rigid and annoying. He always knows how I feel. He was always on my side no matter when dad fired him, even though we haven’t known that long. But I feel comfortable around him,’ he thought as he tried to brush it off.

’What is this? His reaction is so funny. His heart is pounding, huh? I could have found him easily because I had a tracking device installed on his cell phone that was linked to mine a long time ago,’ the Alpha thought.

Axel turned Daren’s body to face him, and looked into his eyes. The Omega’s face turned even redder when he saw the Alpha’s serious expression.

"And there’s one thing you need to know..."

"What’s that?" asked Daren as he waited for the next sentence to be said by the man in front of him.

Suddenly he gave him a rather hard flick on the forehead which made Daren whimper in pain and rub his reddened forehead.

"OUCH! What the hell was that? Why are you flicking my forehead! It hurts so much!" he grumbled at the dark-haired man.

"It’s a small punishment from me because you suddenly left the house and created a panic! You can’t go alone because it’s dangerous outside! Did you forget the incident a few days ago where we were attacked by two cars we didn’t recognize?" Axel scolded back at the Omega.

Daren could only pout while rubbing his forehead which was still sore. He knew it was dangerous out there, especially after what happened a few days ago, but he didn’t want to stay in the mansion.

"I don’t want to go home! I don’t want to live there anymore. I’m going to live on my own in my own way!"

"Oh?" Axel folded his arms in front of his chest and looked down at Daren. "How can you live alone outside of your prince-like habits?"

He tried to say that Daren had been living in luxury and was always served by maids. The Omega man would not be able to live alone, let alone do everything by himself.

"I can! I’ll live in a house and try to learn how to cook and stuff!"

"Don’t forget you have to pay for water, electricity and everything else. Plus buying a house is not as cheap as you think and not as nice as you imagine. There will be no one to help you clean the house and you’ll be alone in that place," Axel replied.

The Omega gasped in shock upon hearing that. "Then I’ll marry an Alpha who is willing to do all those things. That way I won’t live alone and have someone to keep me company!"

Axel, however, pushed back against Daren’s words.

"What Alpha would want an Omega like you? You can’t cook, you can’t clean, and I bet you don’t know how to use a washing machine," he retorted.

Daren was backed into a corner when he heard all that.

He knew he couldn’t do housework, as it was always done by his servants. He defended himself by saying that he would hire servants to do the same.

But of course Axel said that not everything was economically viable. And could afford to hire a servant.

"If you marry an ordinary Alpha then you won’t get all the things you used to get. But if you marry a wealthy man you might still be able to feel the same as you do now. But you know what the rich men out there are like that you are used to," the Alpha explained.

All his words continued to be dropped by Axel as if Axel try to make Daren realize that life wasn’t that easy.

"Just give up already! You don’t need to think about all that stuff and go back to the mansion instead. And forget about all that life until you can find the right person."

Daren was silent for a moment when he heard it, the right person? Like what and who?

But he was not to be outdone by his bodyguard’s words.

"Then I’ll just marry you! We’ll run away from this city to another state! You can do all the housework, right?" he asked half-jokingly.

The question left Axel speechless again, as this was the second time Daren had said he wanted to be with him. He knew that the man in front of him was only joking. But the feeling of belonging came back to him.

He wanted to possess that Omega, to make him his mate. Biting him so that they could bond with each other.

He waited for a response from Axel, and the man responded with a serious look as if he wanted to accept it.

Daren’s heart was beating very fast, for some reason he really expected an answer even though he was only half-joking.

"Don’t play with someone’s feelings."

"I’m not playing with your feelings! Did you take what I said seriously?" he laughing even though he felt a little disappointed inside.

Axel snorted in annoyance then looked back at Daren. "Even if I’m going to marry an Omega, I’ll make sure it’s not you!"

’Because I shouldn’t have married you and hoped to have you. Because I should have killed you.’
