Chapter 180: Don’t Worry, I Can Take Care Of Him. And Make Him Mine

That night, Daren decided to stay at Aiden’s apartment until the next morning. While there, he kept trying to keep his distance from Aiden but instead they became close again after chatting about a few things.

Although at first Daren thought that Aiden wasn’t as bad as Victor said, he tried to dismiss that thought after remembering what the man had done.

’This is what it’s like when he talk intimately with him. No wonder Mike was so influenced by him that he came to the guy’s apartment and they make love,’ Daren thought at the time.

Daren knew his childhood friend was easy to befriend, especially since he was someone like Aiden who had a way with words.

But what he didn’t understand was why Mike’s alpha instincts didn’t tell him what a threat this one was.

"I don’t want to talk about Victor for now. Let’s talk about something else," Deren said.

"I can see him right now, so what do you want to talk to me about while we wait for this storm to pass."

"I was just wondering why you chose Mike out of all the alphas. I’m sure at the nightclub, Mike wasn’t the only alpha male there," Daren said again.

At first the alpha seemed a bit surprised by Daren’s question, but eventually he began to explain why he was attracted to Mike.

He said that Mike and he felt something connected to each other. That’s why he felt that he was the one for him. From how Mike’s face looked so resigned and desperate because he couldn’t have Daren.

According to Aiden, what Mike was feeling at that moment made him look very attractive. The pain and despair he had made Aiden like him a lot. And he felt he wanted to be someone who was by Mike’s side.

"The point is that I like the pitiable face of someone who is miserable and I find it attractive. I want to make them look even more attractive after I’ve stirred up hatred in them. Hatred that comes from the pain they have right now," Aiden explains.

Just like when he first saw Victor, who had the pain of being abused by his mother. He shaped Victor’s current character, with feelings of hatred and resentment towards his late mother to make him the strong alpha he is today.

"But what you do to Mike will turn him into an Omega and you guys..."

In the middle of their conversation, Daren felt a bit sick to his stomach like this morning, so he immediately ran to the bathroom. Aiden then went to the kitchen to make the same tea as before to make the Omega feel better.

Suddenly his cell phone rang, and he saw that it was an incoming call from a number he didn’t recognize. But the number also seemed to be outside of Zondalian. Thinking he knew who was calling him, Aiden answered the phone.

"Hello, did you miss me?"

"Where did you hide my Omega?!" snapped Victor when he called Aiden.

He already knew that Daren was definitely at the man’s place. He thought Aiden had deliberately kidnapped him just to get Mike’s attention to come to him.

Of course, it made him sick and annoyed that it was his omega who had to be the victim in this matter. Moreover, he was currently so far away from Daren that it was difficult for him to pick up his lover.

"What do you mean by hiding him? He himself decided to stay here until tomorrow morning. How can you say that I’m hiding your Omega?"

"Beside he’s not really your Omega after all, is he? You didn’t even mark him, which means there’s still another Alpha who can have him completely," Aiden said, continuing his previous words.

And that sentence upset him so much that he threatened Aiden to let Daren go immediately or he would come to kill him. However, it was clear that Daren himself wanted to stay there, and Aiden couldn’t stop him.

"You have the heart to make your Omega go home alone in the middle of a storm like this? Even when you’re supposed to be protecting him and being there for him and you’re busy doing your job," he said in a slightly teasing tone.

"It’s none of your business, and he’s my Omega. Don’t you dare try to take him when I’m not around, or even attempt to mark him. I will literally tear your entire body apart if you do that," Victor retorted angrily.

But his words were only met with laughter from Aiden. It was as if the man wanted to tease him, and was thrilled to hear his former partner’s reaction.

"Do you yourself want to hear that he’s the one who wants to stay here? I’ll prove it to you," he said and then started shouting Daren’s name.

Not long after, Daren returned his call and asked why he was yelling his name like that.

"What’s wrong?" he said.

"If you want to take a hot bath just do it, there are clean towels in the bathroom for you to use!" replied the alpha and then went back to his phone where Victor couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

"Yeah, alright. Thank you."

"You heard yourself didn’t you? He even sounded normal when he was with me this time. So I didn’t keep him, he is here on his own."

"What did you do to him? You must be manipulating his mind just like you do with everyone else so that they don’t feel wary of you anymore!"

That was when Aiden replied that it wasn’t his fault but everyone else’s. No one understood Daren’s current predicament, so he felt alone and went looking for something to comfort him.

Mike was busy dating, Victor was busy with his work and Sam had obviously died a long time ago. So who’s around him now?

He even said that if Victor wasn’t interested in Daren, he was ready to take Daren away from him. That was immediately denounced by Victor because of course Daren was his.

"Don’t you dare try to touch him! I’m serious and I’m not going to play around this time if you do take him away from me," Victor said in a growling voice. He felt like punching Aiden very hard in the face.

Tired of all the threats from Victor that seemed unlikely to happen, Aiden intended to end their call. But before that, he said something that took his old friend by surprise.

"There’s no need to worry. If you can no longer protect your Omega, then I can take your place and take care of your pups as well."
