Chapter 179: Choosing To Be Silent
Chapter 179: Choosing To Be Silent
After almost an hour of Mike’s journey to get to the location Victor had given him, he arrived in front of the apartment building where Wilfred’s car was waiting.
He got stuck because the wind was strong followed by the rain that was still so heavy. Moreover, the location was quite far from where Louis lived. That’s why it took him some time to get there and finally meet Wilfred.
"This is the location Victor gave me. I think he’s in one of these apartment units and from where he is he’s not far from the entrance," he explained to Mike.
"But how do we get in because I’m sure we can’t go in without someone we know in this apartment. We also don’t know exactly what apartment number they are in," Mike said.
"You’re right. But we can’t just stay here and even if we search one by one it will take a long time."
It was also difficult for the two of them to ask the security guard about this. It must be confidential who lived in the apartment, so they couldn’t ask if Aiden lived there.
"Then how can we find him?"
They both looked confused and thought of ways to find Daren inside. The apartment wasn’t that big, but it was obvious that they couldn’t go in there without one of the residents.
"We will wait to see if any of the residents of the apartment can get out and we will cooperate. It might cost us a bit but that way we can get inside," Wilfred said.
"Why don’t we just report this to the police? Maybe with their presence we can get in. The police can also ask the residents of the apartment to come out and check the contents of their rooms," Mike advised the man.
But according to Wilfred, if they got the police involved the problem would be very big especially since Aiden would easily escape. Not to mention that they had no clear evidence to accuse the residents in the apartment of hiding Daren.
Meanwhile in the apartment, Daren intends to call Mike to get him to come and pick him up. However, he stopped before doing so because he remembered that the alpha was with his omega.
Jealousy and resentment came back to him. So he decided not to call him and continued eating his sandwich. Aiden who witnessed that was confused at first, but he did not say anything but invited Daren to sit back at the table.
"I thought you’d call someone to pick you up to come here."
"They’re all busy, I can go home by myself. Besides, you don’t have any business leaving your apartment, right? So I’ll be here until the storm subsides," Daren replied and continued eating.
Aiden chuckled at the Omega’s reply. It was as if he felt no threat even though he was trapped alone with the alpha. In an apartment where Daren himself had heard from Victor about Aiden’s bad reputation.
But he acted like he didn’t care anymore and was busy with his food. Although Aiden himself did not have any intention of doing anything, but seeing Daren who currently looked like someone who was unhappy. It made him feel interested to look further.
"Then how about you just stay here until tomorrow morning. I think by tomorrow morning the storm will have passed and it’s much safer for you to go home," Aiden told Daren to spend the night at his place.
But that made Daren feel conflicted because they must be having a hard time finding him right now. The alpha male suggested that Daren tell the others if he was staying at a friend’s house.
That way they wouldn’t have to look for him.
"I’ll call them later. My head hurts too much to keep talking about this."
"It’s no wonder you’ve been so hungry since earlier. Didn’t you eat anything before? I mean before we met at the gelato shop," Aiden asked.
Daren replied that he hadn’t had time to eat anything since this morning because his stomach felt very queasy. So he decided to take a walk outside and look for something sweet to fill his stomach. However, he now felt dizzy and eventually fainted.
Aiden nodded in understanding of Daren’s situation as if he already knew that there was something Daren was feeling. Something that even Daren himself didn’t realize.
"It’s a shame your alphas aren’t by your side at a time like this. He should be with you and making sure you’re okay. But now he’s far away and enjoying his mission," the dark-haired man said as he ate his sandwich.
"It’s none of his business anyway because even though we’re lovers, he hasn’t marked me yet. So I could easily be marked by another alpha when he’s not here. And for some reason he always dodges every time I ask him about it," he replied with a sigh and a slight drop in his eyes.
He did not understand if Victor really loved him or if he just wanted to take advantage of him. Like he didn’t really love just liked and didn’t want to be surprised to be owned by another Alpha, but still he didn’t want to mark his omega.
"You must be feeling pretty bad, huh? An alpha like him seems very indecisive about his own decisions. He didn’t even mark his omega, what about your future?" he asked.
"Isn’t that why when he’s away on a mission it’s easy to do anything with another Omega because you’re not connected to each other," Aiden continued as if trying to provoke Daren and Victor.
Moreover, he’d noticed Daren’s change in nature at the gelato shop and after he’d told Victor what had happened on the night of the fire seven years ago. There seemed to be an indecisive feeling within the Omega.
He shouldn’t be angry about this, or should he just accept it because even if he was angry it wouldn’t bring his brother back.
Either way, Aiden was enjoying his time to see what Daren would do next.
’Even in times like these he is not by his side. This omega’s current state is so sensitive, it would be very easy to be influenced.’
