Chapter 181: Whose Pups Are You Talking About? Wait, Don’t Tell Me...
Victor looked confused by what Aiden meant by pups. Whose pups was he referring to?
"What do you mean by pups? Whose pups are you talking about?" he asked in confusion before hanging up.
He still didn’t understand and tried to think about what he had just heard. Why was the man suddenly talking about pups.
"He said he’ll take care of Daren and my pups too? Wait... Don’t tell me that Daren is actually..."
His eyes widened at the thought of Daren carrying his child. But if that was true, why didn’t Daren tell him and Aiden find out about it.
In some cases there were some Alphas who could tell if an Omega was carrying pups from another Alpha. And it seemed Aiden was one of them, which even Mike and Edgar might not realize.
Even Daren himself didn’t realize it, because he didn’t know about such things. He thought that his nausea and dizziness were because he was tired from work. Moreover, he had been feeling very sensitive to some things lately, which was influenced by him being pregnant with Victor’s child.
Thinking about all these things, Victor was now very anxious when he found out. He was worried about knowing that his omega was carrying his child, worried that his omega was with another Alpha who was trying to claim him. And he was even more anxious about being away from his omega at a time like this.
But what could be done? He couldn’t abandon this mission that had continued for so long, and was so far away from the Zondalian. He really wanted to make sure it was where Daren had his child.
"If Daren really is carrying my pups, I should be by his side to keep him company. I should even be the first to know about this, but because I’m far away from him I don’t know about it," he said with so much frustration that he even ruffled his own hair.
It was also impossible for Victor to ask for permission to go temporarily to the Zondalian.
He then tried to call Mike to ascertain his whereabouts as the man had yet to give any news.
But after he called the man, Mike said that Daren had called him and asked him not to come because he was at his friend’s house. Victor irritably explained that the person who was considered a friend was actually Aiden.
"Right now he’s really with Aiden and the circumstances..." He couldn’t seem to say anything about Daren being pregnant with his pup.
He just wanted Mike to find the Omega and bring it home. But Mike and Wilfred were having trouble finding Daren. The place Victor had given them was a large apartment and they couldn’t just go inside. They also didn’t know which unit the man was in.
"We’ve tried checking the CCTV, but there’s no sign of Aiden entering the apartment with Daren. In fact, since a few hours ago, we’ve only seen Aiden enter the apartment by himself and then leave and not come back," explained Wilfred, who was still with Mike at the time.
This led them to believe that Aiden had deliberately removed the tracking device on Daren’s cell phone and thrown it into the apartment area before leaving for his real apartment.
Victor growled in annoyance when he found out that Daren’s cell phone no longer had the tracking device he had installed on it. This really made it difficult for them to find Aiden’s actual apartment.
"But Daren said he’ll be home tomorrow morning, should we wait until he’s actually back?" Wilfred said again.
"Are you sure he’s really coming home tomorrow morning and what if Aiden threatened him to say that?" replied Mike who was worried about his friend’s whereabouts.
"Daren’s not someone who’s going to go along with what other people want just because they threaten him. Daren himself wanted to be there," Victor said and then recounted his call with Aiden but he didn’t say the part where Aiden talked about the pup.
Hearing Victor’s story, of course they were both shocked. But they had no choice but to wait for Daren to return home on his own.
It was already dark in Zondalian so they decided to go home and wait until Daren actually returned the next day.
And sure enough, the next day Daren returned just as he left. He returned home rather exhausted as he felt weaker than usual. He thought that he might have caught a fever from the rain yesterday.
"Daren, where have you been all night?" asked Viona who was trying to walk while holding on to the wall when she saw her son finally come home.
She looked angry and also worried because her son disappeared and suddenly said he would stay at a friend’s house and then return the next day. Of course it made her very worried that something had happened to her son.
"I’m sorry, mom. Yesterday I got caught in the storm so I stayed at my friend’s house not far from there. Since the storm hadn’t blown over by midnight, I stayed at his house until this morning," Daren explained, looking for an excuse so that his mother wouldn’t worry if she heard that he had fainted on the sidewalk.
Viona sighed and hugged her son. She was relieved that Daren was okay and nothing had happened to him.
"Then go to your room and rest, I’ll have the maid bring you breakfast," she said.
"No need, I already had breakfast at my friend’s house. I just want some warm white milk and toast," Daren requested which his mother readily agreed to.
He then went to his room and laid down on the bed. He was relieved to finally be free of Aiden who had done nothing to him but help him.
The alpha male made him some tea which made his stomach feel better, he also let him sleep in his bed while he slept on the sofa in the living room. He even made breakfast for him and drove him back home in the car.
It made him think back, was Aiden really someone evil who would even do anything for his cause, or was he actually doing that because he had nothing nearby.
"At least for now I’m no longer stuck with him, sometimes seeing his face makes me a bit annoyed."
