Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 869: Friendly Negotiation

Chapter 869: Chapter 869: Friendly Negotiation

Xu Huo followed them from behind.

The few white monkeys had a specific route, and after a couple of rounds between the trees, they entered a huge cluster of flowers, covering their small buckets over their heads to pass through the ground, bouncing up a small slope.

Behind the slope was a wide, ten-meter river. The monkeys climbed up the short trees by the river, pulling down the vines wrapped around the trees and tied them to the buckets before throwing the buckets into the water. Soon, there were banging noises coming from beneath the water, and the monkeys immediately pulled up the vines. Two of the buckets actually trapped several black fish with two-finger-wide pointed mouths.

The little monkeys cheered, and the monkeys with fish threw them to their companions, who sat on the branches happily waving the black fish. Then they displayed their neat and sharp rows of white teeth and ate the fish, bones and all.

It was a meal with a sense of ritual.

They fished up front, while Xu Huo watched from behind. However, the fishing process wasn’t always smooth; one of the monkey’s buckets was bitten through by a crocodile and spit back to shore, after which the monkeys teamed up to jump and yell at the riverbank. Judging by their actions and expressions, they were probably cursing out the crocodile, but the one in the water couldn’t understand.

After jumping around for a while, the monkeys huddled together and whispered among themselves. Then they began to squat by the riverbank, with one monkey pretending to drink water while the others held the looped vines, ready to strike.

The nearby crocodile quickly charged at the prey, but it couldn’t match the speed of the white monkeys. When it surfaced and opened its mouth, it was caught with the vines and dragged onto the bank by several monkeys.

Once on the bank, the crocodile wasn’t as agile as the monkeys. The white monkeys coordinated with one another, grabbing and smashing the crocodile until it was covered in wounds within a short time.

The crocodile, overpowered, bit through the vines and returned to the water. The monkeys, not satisfied, continued to yell and curse at the riverbank for a while before taking their buckets to fish elsewhere.

Xu Huo approached the water’s edge only after they had gone far enough. He took advantage of the crocodile surfacing to shoot it with a few anesthesia darts, then dragged it onto the bank with a kite line and secured its mouth before starting to take photos.

After inspecting three reptilian species, the small projection screen with his number reappeared with a prompt:

"Detected that guest number 313 is near with no access to the shuttle. Please find the shuttle door as soon as possible."

The noise attracted the monkeys back, and they stood upright to gather in front of him, imitating his stance.

Xu Huo wrote numbers on the crocodile’s back and threw it back into the water. He waited until it regained consciousness and struggled before reeling in the kite line, then waved at the few monkeys.

The monkeys stood still, one of them reaching out a claw pointing at the kite line in his hand.

Xu Huo pointed at their bucket.

The monkey hid its bucket behind itself, still pointing at his hand.

"This won’t do, I’ll show you something good." Xu Huo grabbed a handful of lollipops, peeled one, popped it in his mouth, and tossed another to the one that came out to "negotiate."

The little monkey imitated him and ate it, seeming to like the taste and after communicating with its companions, it approached him.

Xu Huo, facing another failed negotiation, put the cage with the snake in front of it, cut a tree branch with a Water Cutter Gun, and chased the monkey on the tree back to the ground.

Monkeys that could even fish out a crocodile and beat it up certainly wouldn’t be intimidated by him. They quickly changed positions and coordinated their actions.

Half a minute later, all were very successfully suspended by Xu Huo.

Xu Huo sat on a nearby stone, took out the tattered "Severance Gate," demonstrated how to open the door, patted the door, then pointed at the candy in his hand.

The monkeys howled angrily, their fine teeth all on display.

Xu Huo smiled and gave the loudest hollerer two more shots of the anesthesia, then in front of the other monkeys, he took out a pair of pliers from the toolbox and pulled out two of that monkey’s front teeth.

The monkeys quieted down.

Xu Huo knocked on the door again and pointed to the sugar, and after getting no response, pulled out the second monkey’s tooth.

The leader was up next, and upon seeing its "ugly" companions, it shed scorching tears.

A minute later, Xu Huo led a string of sugar-eating monkeys in search of the hatch.

These monkeys, dwelling in the jungle, successfully led him away from the riverbank, heading east for roughly a few hundred meters, until the projection screen indicated a cabin body to his left front.

A few monkeys didn’t understand human language, but indeed they were heading in this direction. However, it was only upon getting closer that Xu Huo discovered this forest had just witnessed a fierce fight; the ground was covered with large quantities of blood and wild beast tracks, and the vegetation had been almost flattened. From a distance, one could see a large tree with a half-open hatch fallen to the ground, its roots and the earth underneath dug up and damaged, exposing the metal-cast pillars—it was clear that this passage had been blocked and destroyed.

A couple of injured people were hiding not far away.

Previous players had entered the animal zoo, so encountering living people wasn’t strange. With the escape pod damaged like this, it was uncertain if they had completed their adventure task.

Xu Huo walked up to the large tree, manipulated the hatch a bit, and then patted it.

The leading monkey spit out its sugar stick, raising its head and refusing to move.

Xu Huo held a handful of sugar in his left hand and pliers in his right, presenting them to the monkeys.

The monkeys, arrogant for no more than three seconds, obediently took the sugar again.

"Wait... wait a second!" A woman hiding behind a tree stepped forward voluntarily, her voice trembling, "Could you take me with you?"

The fellow player who came with her also emerged, and Xu Huo remembered they had also received a white ball task, which required them to capture a colorful ant alive.

"Have you completed your task?" he asked. Both were injured, but the player had more battle wounds, while the woman who spoke had only a scrape.

The female player produced a bottle with a palm-sized colorful ant lying inside.

Xu Huo noticed her lips were slightly purple and asked again, "Poisoned?"

"I accidentally got pinched by the ant," the female player said cautiously.

Her protective gear was intact, seemingly replaced, and she didn’t look too bad, but taking an ordinary person to find the next entry and exit hatch was risky, especially after a fierce battle.

Xu Huo scrutinized the two, not immediately agreeing to go together.

"I have insect repellent!" the woman who spoke first hastily said, "Spray it on and the smell will spread, and ordinary poisonous insects will automatically stay away."

"I absolutely will not drag you down!"

"Three people make too big a target," Xu Huo said with hesitation in his expression.

The woman glanced back at the female player, her expression conflicted and struggling, then as if making a decision, stepped forward.

Xu Huo knew what she wanted to say, but didn’t give her the chance to speak, interrupting her instead, "Then let’s go together, we can look out for each other if danger arises."

The woman’s expression changed, happily and softly she said to the female player, "That’s great, we can go together—"

She didn’t finish her sentence before the female player swiftly and cleanly broke her neck, scoffing, "I don’t know how many times I saved her along the way, and now she wants to ditch me again, ungrateful wretch!"
