Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 793: The Blurred Bottom Line

Chapter 793: Chapter 793: The Blurred Bottom Line

The boss froze for a moment before keeping silent, as Xu Huo watched him with a smile, "Don’t bother trying to tip them off; they won’t be alive by tonight."

The boss shuddered and immediately blurted out an address.

"You spoke too quickly." Xu Huo moved his fingers and scratched the boss’s arm, "I’ll give you another chance; think carefully before you speak."

The boss stood still for a while, seemingly engaged in intense mental struggle; however, two seconds later, he turned and ran towards the door.

Xu Huo laughed out loud, holding the Water Cutter Gun in his hand, ready to move; he noticed the boss, unable to open the door, turned and knelt down with a "thump," "They’re in the alley behind the dance hall. It’s some kids who attacked. Usually, they wouldn’t be so harsh on Xiao Yuan. It must have been orchestrated by the street punks who gather those kids."

"A few street punks? Not even players?"

Sweat on his forehead but too scared to wipe it, the boss responded, "How could there be so many players in such a remote place? Anyone with a bit of skill wouldn’t want to stay here long, but that group of street punks have connections with players who deal in trafficking. Normally, no one would want to offend them."

Xu Huo told him to write a list, "If I happen to encounter them, I’ll take care of them all to prevent someone finding out you leaked the information."

The boss turned pale, squeezing his brain to write down everyone involved on the paper, and halfway through, Xu Huo reminded him, "Don’t write too many; I can’t be bothered to kill them all."

The slightly clever boss did not dare to deceive him and wrote the most important people at the top, even circling the key ones, "These few, they have many kids’ deaths on their hands!"

Xu Huo took the list.

There weren’t many means of transportation here. After dark, he finally left the house in his wheelchair.

It was still early, and he wasn’t in a hurry. He took the person following him for a walk around the city, and then he made his way to the alley behind the dance hall and politely knocked on the door.

But no one came to open the door. Instead, a burst of gunfire welcomed him. Xu Huo placed the battered "Severance Gate" in front of him to block the bullets before putting it away, then continued knocking.

The people inside were in disarray, arguing whether to check the door; however, before they could reach a decision, the door opened by itself.

Xu Huo sat at the doorway, taking in the situation inside at a glance.

Five street punks, who had just been arguing a second ago, picked up their weapons while several homeless children were tying up Xiao Yuan. It seemed the two groups were on different wavelengths. Upon seeing Xu Huo, the street punks all showed fear, while the homeless children looked eager, as if they had stumbled upon a great opportunity.

There was a threshold on the door, but no matter. Xu Huo kicked it open, slid into the room in his wheelchair, and then closed the door behind him.

Seeing him close the door, the punks were even more frightened. One of them couldn’t stand the pressure and yelled as he swung his knife at Xu Huo, pitifully cut in two by a rising beam from the ground before he could get close.

The pungent smell filled the room with warmth. The street punks collapsed to the ground, begging for mercy, while a few children wet themselves and scurried into a corner.

Xu Huo waved Xiao Yuan over. The little girl quickly shook off the ropes from her legs and ran to him, grinning, "I tried to steal the money back, but they caught me!"

Xu Huo pointed at the punks, "Are they bad people?"

Xiao Yuan nodded without hesitation.

Xu Huo handed the Water Cutter Gun to her, "Kill them."

Xiao Yuan’s eyes widened, and her hands began to tremble, but as she met his gaze, it was as if her throat was blocked. She couldn’t utter a word. After a while, she slowly raised the gun and aimed at one of them, yet she couldn’t pull the trigger.

She was very afraid, and the gangster she was pointing at was even more terrified, struggling to plead coherently.

Xu Huo leaned back in his wheelchair, his posture relaxed, without hurrying her.

Seeing Xiao Yuan’s soft heart, several gangsters lying on the ground wept bitterly, "We’ve indeed done some bad things, but we were forced to, in this world, to survive, one can only do as others say... If you let us go, we will definitely turn over a new leaf! We’ll never do wrong again..."

Before they could finish speaking, Xiao Yuan pulled the trigger.

The Water Cutter Gun could be used by anyone with hands, and the jet of water punched a hole in the forehead of the gangster!

Xu Huo’s gaze grew heavier.

"Xiao Lin was taken away by you. You lied to her, said she could go out and earn money, but just a few days later, I found her in a pile of trash!"

"Sister Sasha from Pagoda Flower Lane, I know you raped her and killed her, then buried her under the locust tree!"

"The little nerd from Xiaoyou Street was beaten to death by you too, because you wanted his family’s heirloom Inkstone, which wasn’t worth much money. Unsatisfied, you went back and killed his grandfather as well!"

...

The young girl’s face was stained with tears, and while her words were a bit jumbled, she had said all that needed to be said. These inconspicuous characters had many lives on their hands, and their deaths were not a pity.

By the time the second person fell to the ground, Xu Huo grabbed the gun, aiming it at the corner at a homeless child, "They often bullied you too. You can have your revenge."

The child acted more directly, some crying loudly, some scratching the walls, others standing still, utterly unable to regain their composure.

Xiao Yuan’s hand eventually dropped, "They are not bad people..."

"But they will become such people sooner or later," Xu Huo said, "They might traffick children, violate women, murder and rob. As long as they are alive, one day they will commit crimes."

Xiao Yuan’s look wavered, and she began to tremble violently. Then she raised her hand again, but she did not shoot. Instead, she turned back and asked Xu Huo, "But they haven’t committed a crime yet, why say they will definitely commit crimes in the future?"

"The gun is in your hand, you decide," Xu Huo said, "If you say they will commit crimes in the future, then they are criminals."

Xiao Yuan seemed momentarily lost, as if she didn’t understand, but she yet said, "I don’t decide. I can’t foresee the future. How can I know they will definitely commit crimes later on?"

Even adults may not have a clear understanding and choice regarding a matter, often making a tilted decision in a state of vagueness. They may never think about, or comprehend, the reasons behind it in their lifetime, but that’s not crucial, because most people are ordinary. They do not need to distinguish right from wrong too clearly. However, if a person possesses power beyond that of ordinary people, then they must have a clear standard.

Although Xiao Yuan’s answer was vague, Xu Huo was already quite satisfied.

"If I don’t shoot, will you not take me away?" Xiao Yuan asked with tears in her eyes.

Xu Huo smiled slightly, gently stroked her head, "I would not test you with that kind of question."

Having a baseline of humanity when one still has a choice is a basic aspect of being human. However, if faced with a life-or-death crisis, a person’s choice is no longer within the realm of black and white. Self-preservation is human instinct, and instinct cannot be wrong, but one must bear the consequences of their choices and actions.

Such a test is meaningless.

Xu Huo took back the Water Cutter Gun and motioned for Xiao Yuan to go out and wait for him.
