Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 761: Not One Less

Chapter 761: Chapter 761: Not One Less

The temporary ally died tragically, and that player made a quick stop on the rooftop. Without a word, they turned their head and ran. Xu Huo glanced at them but had no intention of chasing. However, to his surprise, the person didn’t run far before stopping again.

The next second, groups of people started appearing from both sides of the street, surrounding Xu Huo in a encircling manner.

Escaping easily was no longer possible.

Xu Huo slowly propped up a black umbrella.

The sky began to drizzle with rain.

Meanwhile, Teacher Pan’s group, excluding Old Eagle and Lin Zhenhuai, hadn’t planned on leaving Museum City yet. They just left the hotel and were currently taking a rest in a shop.

"How exactly was the Mirror Hotel solved?" Sun Bo was still puzzled. "I only knew that the space switched twice; I didn’t expect to suddenly end up outside."

Teacher Pan and the others were more or less in the same boat, but they had made preparations in advance, keeping an eye on Xiao Ling and Xu Huo’s trio. They didn’t expect an unexpected gain in the end.

"What kind of potion is this?" Peng Fengnian looked at the green syringe in Teacher Pan’s hand. "It looks like an Enhanced Evolution Potion."

The Evolution Potions came in various colors. The basic blue Evolution Potion initially provided to players was the most fundamental version. As more Copies are played, the later potions obtained are of better quality, with each phase offering base, enhanced, and super-enhanced versions. Apart from the officially announced potions, different pharmaceutical companies would also make targeted Evolution Potions. In general, the effects of these potions were roughly similar.

"The more Evolution Potions are used, the worse their effect becomes, and my evolution rate slows down," Sun Bo said. "This potion was found by Yu Huo in the hotel. It was hidden so securely; it must be some special potion, right? Let’s take it back and see if it can be mass-produced."

"To me, it just looks like a regular Enhanced Potion." Peng Fengnian paused then said, "Teacher Pan, I don’t understand why you would do this. I’ve dealt with Yu Huo before; he’s a very resourceful player and even destroyed a random Copy. Such a player would be considered talent in any game zone. Even if we don’t want to foster good relations, it’s best not to offend him. For just a potion, it’s not worth it."

Teacher Pan was observing the potion with an item similar to a magnifying glass and didn’t give him a single glance, merely saying, "Old Zheng chased him to the Corpse-Hiding Hotel. Do you think this matter can end as you say it will? The first person he’ll want to kill after getting out is Old Zheng, and we, being allies, can’t escape either. Rather than leave a hidden danger, it’s better to strike first."

Peng Fengnian’s expression turned unsightly. He had been excluded by Teacher Pan and the others from the start. The discussions were simply meant to use his voice to placate Xu Huo.

"Don’t be naive," Gao Xiaoyue said. "You just met him by chance and don’t know his background. Dare you trust him? We’ve been in the Mirror Hotel for several days, weakened. What if he strikes first?"

Peng Fengnian fell silent. After a while, he said, "Indeed, I cannot ask you to take this risk with me. I just feel that this approach seems a bit like burning bridges."

"What’s done is done; regret is pointless," Sun Bo said as he drank the water in his hand. "In the game, if you’re not ruthless, you won’t survive long."

Peng Fengnian tugged at the corner of his mouth and changed the subject, "There were no items in the hotel, so where shall we go looking next?"

"We can’t leave the Copy yet," Teacher Pan raised his head at this moment, "Although we didn’t get any items, we’ve made some gains. Old Zheng and his three will head out first to report back, proving the value of Museum City. Naturally, the higher-ups will send more players here."

"Now all the families are busy entering Copies to snatch items," Gao Xiaoyue said, "I’m afraid no one is interested in this Level D Copy. The ones I saw running in just now were all useless rookies. Moreover, this Copy is quite strange. I guess not many players are willing to come, and since we’re already halfway through, instead of letting others pick the fruits of our labor, we might as well do it ourselves."

That was in the interest of the team, but Teacher Pan laughed and said, "Based on the information we have, we’ve done everything we can. Blindly searching is just a waste of time. What we need to do now is to recover our strength and reduce the threats within the Copy."

His words made the others fall silent, but it was clear that Teacher Pan was not considering their opinions, instead, he continued to study the Potion with his head down.

After a while, Sun Bo looked out at the drizzle and said, "I wonder if Old Zheng managed to take He Xue out."

The rain wasn’t heavy, creating only a faint sound as it hit the umbrella. The wet ground revealed a liquid flowing, but it didn’t reflect light like water, instead, it appeared thick and slow, meandering across the uneven surface.

A pair of leather boots walked through the liquid, stopping in front of a black umbrella lying at an angle on the ground. Then a hand picked up the umbrella and a white handkerchief wiped the handle before being tossed away, revealing a dark red stain as it fluttered in the air.

In the distance, there were a few onlookers. Xu Huo paid them no mind as he left the street littered with multiple corpses, umbrella in hand.

He didn’t go directly to the Museum City gate, but after confirming that Old Eagle and Lin Zhenhuai had not left, he circled back into Museum City. Donning the Invisibility Cloak, he moved fast between the buildings with a tracker in hand, finally spotting Teacher Pan and his group in a shop between the Wax Figure Gallery and the Beheaded Cemetery.

The night was when Museum City came alive, and Xu Huo saw fake people running around and skeletons behaving wildly, as well as several wax figures lingering nearby.

After judging the distance between shops, he picked a lane slightly left of the middle, first tying the Harmless Whip and a loose photo wire inside the shop together, then leading the other end of the wire to the entrance. He casually sprinkled some Sticky Paste near the windows, and inside the room, he scattered some diluted poison.

After the simple setup was complete, he returned to the entrance and placed the Number Grid in the alley and across the opposite shop.

Having finished, he smeared some slime on the main street and led a few not-so-clever wax figures over with some pebbles. Two of them got stuck to the ground, their limbs stiffening as they struggled.

Seeing they wouldn’t free themselves anytime soon, Xu Huo turned and detoured to Teacher Pan and others’ rear. Silently landing in the alley, he used the Crimson Sword to cut a row of small shops in half!

The Sword Qi burst and vanished; the next second, Teacher Pan and the others jumped out of the shops one after another, avoiding the open main street and flitting up and down between the arranged stores.

Xu Huo swiftly moved behind them; the Crimson Sword and the Water Cutter Gun took turns in combat, twice blocking Gao Xiaoyue and Sun Bo who tried to split up and return. Attacks from near and far prevented Sun Bo and the others from utilizing their items effectively. As they ran, Teacher Pan suddenly came to his senses and shouted, "Split up and...!"

Before he could finish, Xu Huo yelled, "Poison rain, falling from the sky!"
