Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die! -
Chapter 1227 - 1228
Chapter 1227: Chapter 1228
(To be modified later) Da Mao was difficult to deal with, and Xu Huo and Yan Jiayu were no slouches either. Yan Jiayu engaged in close combat, while Xu Huo assisted with props from the side but would unpredictably leap forward to strike. After three minutes of combat, both sides had sustained injuries.
Looking up, Xu Huo began ascending the stairs. Upon reaching the third floor, he sensed someone rapidly descending through the middle of the building. In an instant, he switched to the office floor and placed Shelter 101 directly below that spot!
The fleeing player had been relying on props to move between floors but unexpectedly stepped onto Shelter 101. The metallic prop from a game was impenetrable for him, and upon spotting Xu Huo nearby, he readied a crossbow arrow to aim at him!
The crossbow arrow wasn’t a solid projectile—it was a semi-transparent shard of ice that embedded itself into the wall and quickly melted!
"I’m not after you," Xu Huo clarified. Because of this brief pause, the pursued player from upstairs had already descended. As soon as his feet appeared, a strange force slammed into him, carving a deep groove into the ceiling before he halted at the wall.
The next moment, two individuals and one stone lion landed on the same floor as Xu Huo and his ally.
"Da Mao, go!" Yan Jiayu commanded the stone lion to attack, while sticking a muscle doll sticker onto her face. Instantly, her speed skyrocketed, making her resemble an untraceable missile as she blasted toward the person by the wall!
The player didn’t seem to take her reckless combat strategy seriously. With a pat on his shoulder, a blue light arc opened in front of him. Protected by the light arc, he didn’t even glance at Yan Jiayu and instead focused on the stone lion leisurely circling toward him.
However, just as he was about to free up his hands to deal with the stone lion, Yan Jiayu, the live human projectile, struck him forcefully—whether she had other invisible defensive props on her was unclear, but she slammed into the light arc so hard that she drove the player through the wall while the light arc cracked!
"What!" The other player exclaimed in astonishment, but the force catapulted him into the outermost wall of the building, where another barrier repelled him back.
Yan Jiayu, the one exerting force, was far less disheveled than him. She landed steadily in the middle of the room, wielding the Demon-Subduing Pestle and launching into a chaotic barrage of attacks!
Several loud "bang, bang, bang" sounds later, a Shield Prop was left cracked. The player quickly sidestepped, utilizing a characteristic to momentarily limit Yan Jiayu’s speed before rushing toward Xu Huo!
His true target was the government player who hadn’t yet escaped, but just as he reached the midway point, a flash of cold light swept toward him!
The pursuing player dodged quickly, his sleeves releasing dozens of Cowhair Needles.
With the Air Barrier temporarily unavailable, Xu Huo decisively deployed Shelter 101 in a fast move of placing and retracting it. Amid the assault, he simultaneously activated "Extreme Fatigue" and "Progress Bar Disappearance."
The player immediately felt the effects of the props take hold. Pressing on his sleeve, the clothing he wore began to unfurl like scales before snapping shut once more. As his attire’s colors shifted and returned to normal, his face showed no signs of exhaustion!
Yan Jiayu and the stone lion joined the fray. Slacking off, Da Mao received a solid hit on its rear end, causing it to unleash all its rage on the pursuing player, biting and tearing at him relentlessly, forcing him into retreat.
"The vase effect!" The pursuing player threw a mat to the ground. In its frenzied movement, Da Mao’s foot slipped on it, one paw pinned to the floor.
Yet this solution proved ineffective. The violence-driven stone lion simply dug a hole into the flooring. Since it couldn’t escape the mat, it opted to carry the floor panels with it.

Xu Huo honestly hadn’t expected the Shadow Personality to mimic voices and interfere with Xue Lang. He hadn’t fully recovered all his memories of the Seventeenth Hospital, only pieces related to Doctor Zhang. More details eluded him—there were other children in Doctor Zhang’s training program at the hospital as well, so he didn’t have a complete picture. Whether his childhood self shared any "gaming camaraderie" with Xiao Liang was a mystery... But judging by Xue Lang’s expression, it didn’t look pleasant.
Fragments of black shadow scattered onto the ground, some turning into streams that moved behind Xue Lang before slowly rising into the air, condensing into a hand reaching for his throat.
However, before it could touch him, the figure vanished and reappeared a hundred meters away.
Xue Lang stared at Xu Huo’s location, his expression capricious, as though wrestling with a decision. Just then, his communicator chimed urgently, prompting him to make up his mind.
"We’ll meet again after the instance ends," he said to the space ahead before opening a portal and leaving.
Xu Huo exhaled slightly in relief, though disappointment lingered. Xue Lang seemed to have discerned his intentions and chose to withdraw.
It was unclear whether Xue Lang’s companions were also children cultivated by Doctor Zhang.
After applying medication to the wound, Xu Huo reopened his Spiritual World.
When the Spatial Ray passed through the materialized door earlier, he had noticed it. His initial spatial evolution had also been discovered via the Spiritual World. Although he couldn’t practically manipulate spatial rays, the enhancement of his spiritual power allowed him to sense the limits of spatial evolution—namely, perceiving the existence of Spatial Rays.
Thus, when Xue Lang’s ray severed the materialized door, Xu Huo realized it was another application of Spatial Rays—like a Ray Blade formed of Spatial Rays, simply in a different shape.
Spatial Super Evolution typically manifests in controlling space for teleportation or managing objects or people remotely. At higher levels, it is possible to use Spatial Rays for lethal purposes—Bai Kou had exhibited remote object manipulation in the past, while Mr. Kang had previously used Spatial Ray Blades to kill. While differing in form, Mr. Kang’s blades and Xue Lang’s rays shared a high degree of lethality, able to directly affect props.
This should represent the further potential of spatial super evolution.
Xu Huo could perform short-distance moves within space but hadn’t reached the point of direct interaction with Spatial Rays. For now, he relied on Cubic Space.
Unable to directly touch them, his perception of Spatial Rays remained vague and unexplored. Avoiding direct contact and prop-based collisions during his encounter with Xue Lang was deliberate.
Unexpectedly, the Shadow Personality managed to grasp those rays. While the fragmented personality caused him some trauma, the small price yielded results after several attempts.
Putting away Cubic Space, Xu Huo used the Spiritual World to observe the lines within the space.
He tentatively prodded the nearby lines. The difficulty had decreased, and the length of the lines extended. Grasping a line for support, he took a step within the space, smoothly spanning over four hundred meters and even managing to manipulate distant branches through the ray’s movement.
