Chapter 1176
Chapter 1176: Chapter 1176
(Wait to modify) "You’re not the person I’m looking for." Xu Huo clarified his position. During this brief delay, the player chasing them had already descended from upstairs. Before their feet were fully exposed, they were slammed by a strange force, sending them crashing into the ceiling, carving a deep groove until they reached the wall and stopped.
The next second, two people and a stone lion landed on the same floor as Xu Huo and his companion.
"Da Mao, go!" Yan Jiayu commanded the stone lion to pounce while simultaneously pulling out a muscular doll sticker and slapping it onto her face. Her speed exploded instantly, turning her into an unstoppable projectile, smashing into the person by the wall with a tremendous force!
The player clearly didn’t regard her reckless combat style very seriously. With a pat on his shoulder, a blue light arc immediately opened in front of him. Protected by the light arc, he didn’t even glance at Yan Jiayu but focused his attention on the stone lion running circles nearby.

"None." The Magician was candid. "Since I entered the game, I’ve been tracing the footsteps of that predecessor. However, there are many others pursuing him just like me, so I’m not unique."
"Other than that, I have no connection with him, nor do I have any deep-seated enmity."
The playing card held between Xu Huo’s fingers flew toward him. The Magician reached out to catch it and said in surprise, "You agreed to exchange?"
"Since ’Magician’s Gift’ is so important to you, trading two Rank A props feels like a loss on my end. How about this instead?" Xu Huo said casually. "In the future, if you inherit the Magician’s legacy, just give me a little help—it’s all I ask."
The Magician frowned. "A verbal agreement doesn’t inspire trust."
"As long as you don’t go back on your word, that’s fine." Xu Huo seemed genuinely indifferent about the card.
But his nonchalance only unsettled the Magician further. After some thought, he produced a contract and explained, "This is a performance ticket I modeled after the Rank-A Magician’s design and had someone craft. As long as the performance time is agreed upon and we’re at the same Level Wormhole Point, signing the date will instantly notify me of your position. As long as we’re not in an instance, redeeming the ticket won’t be an issue."
As he spoke, he wrote his player nickname: Moth Arts.
The performance ticket flew through the Spiritual World landing in front of Xu Huo, who raised his hand to catch it. Slightly curious about the nickname, he asked a question.
"I admire the spirit of the moth—moving forward despite knowing death awaits." The Magician offered an explanation before asking, "I know your real name, but what’s your player nickname? If this performance ticket falls into an opponent’s hands someday, I won’t fulfill the promise."
"Passerby A." Xu Huo answered readily.
The Magician paused subtly and asked, "Why?"
"I also admire the occupation of Passerby A," Xu Huo said half-seriously.
The Magician’s expression grew even more peculiar. "There’s actually such a profession?"
"There are jobs in all walks of life," Xu Huo said with a wave of his hand, shifting the topic back to the Ruins Space. "Do you know what this place is?"
"Probably the battle site of advanced players," the Magician replied. "Judging by the overlapping spatial layers, it likely still retains the powers of advanced players. Places like this are rare—there’s a chance someone might achieve Super Evolution here."
Xu Huo had already withdrawn his psychic power and was carefully observing the ruins outside. "Aren’t you interested in it?"
"Interested, sure..." The Magician seemed more concerned about something else.
"It’s not a matter of urgency." Xu Huo gestured. "It’s a ready-made opportunity."
Hearing this, the Magician didn’t hurry to leave. He too shut off his Spiritual World, relying instead on his spatial power to interact with the world.
His spatial evolution was more advanced than Xu Huo’s, allowing him to remotely control heavy objects and directly construct spatial barriers. Watching him manipulate the space provided Xu Huo with valuable insights.
The Magician, having a sense of reciprocity, demonstrated the manipulation process carefully and slowly, using spatial rays to interfere with the boundaries of the Ruins Space. His perspective of the Ruins Space differed from Xu Huo’s.
Xu Huo could only see the cubic space and its expanded auxiliary sections, making the Ruins Space appear relatively small. Meanwhile, the Magician’s field of view was broader, allowing him to discern elements overlooked by others.
Buildings and stone pathways floating in space were anchored by lines different from spatial rays.
Unlike the chaotic spatial rays, the lines bearing the weight of structures consisted of a single strand.
They pierced objects, extending vertically to the edges of the space.
Similarly, whenever the Ruins Space repeated, such lines appeared again, except they were horizontal—still singular.
"Could this be a Time Ray?" The Magician was the first to realize. "This space has normal gravity, but the buildings remain suspended. It’s likely time has been frozen. Disrupt the object or break the Time Ray, and it’ll cease to function."
As he spoke, he crushed a floating stone slab in front of him.
Sure enough, as the slab shattered, the Time Ray running through it vanished, followed by the collapse of slabs before and beyond it, including distant floating buildings.
"Time Rays can maintain stability within a space for such a long duration?" Xu Huo was slightly puzzled.
"Space-time rays can," the Magician replied. "With sufficient power, even psychic power can detach from players and linger independently."
"Perhaps this was a Super Player’s battle site."
He eagerly navigated the Ruins Space, searching for Time Rays among the repeating layers.
Xu Huo followed closely, and the two discussed the inscriptions and totems on the buildings.
"I’ve seen the text, but not the totems." The Magician pulled out an old book and handed it over. "This dictionary collected the text from a Level D Wormhole Point—it matches—but the totem seems very ancient, perhaps from a vanished sub-zone that drifted across alternate dimensions before arriving at Zone 014."
Xu Huo scanned the corresponding text, compared it briefly, and remarked, "Someone used to worship Aliens here?"
"Many groups did, and many still do," the Magician said succinctly, evidently unwilling to dwell on the topic.
"For something of this scale, it must’ve been rare," Xu Huo commented.
Alien worship wouldn’t occur in technologically advanced zones. Yet the scale here was significant, clearly not the result of small, backward zones using limited manpower and resources. Given these conditions, the origins of this worship site seemed rather unique.
