Chapter 1140 Magician
Chapter 1140: Chapter 1140 Magician
"Whose prop is this?" The blond player looked around and then cast his eyes towards Xu Huo, who was still in his seat, but Xu Huo wasn’t looking at him; rather, he was staring at the last row of the cabin—there was an extra person there now.
That person wasn’t there before the plane took off; he appeared after the plane had taken off.
And no one noticed!
Following his gaze, other players also saw the man sitting at the corner of the last row, wearing a tall top hat.
The hat suddenly moved, and all the players felt a bright light flash before their eyes. Once the light had passed, the props of the young master had been rendered ineffective, and the man from the last row was now standing in front of them.
He was wearing a black top hat, a black tailcoat, and a moth-shaped metal eye mask. The lower half of his face that was exposed was pale with a subtle pearly sheen, as if heavily powdered, and his lips were painted gray-black, even embellished with some colorful broken diamonds exaggeratedly.
This "stunning" appearance made the players subconsciously brace themselves. Not to mention his sudden, unnoticed arrival, the gaudy outfit alone was enough to convey that he was a troublesome character—because ordinary people usually act low-key in games, only madmen and psychopaths would go all out to attract attention as if being watched would give them a cerebral climax.
The man with extravagant makeup slowly curled his lips, then violently pulled a grotesque smile, and suddenly spread his arms open, holding them beside two boxes. It was only after shocking the players into retreating and using their defense props that he raised his right hand to adjust his top hat and declared in a high-pitched tone: "I am honored to perform a magic show on this precious ground, let me introduce myself, I am a Magician from C9 Wormhole Point."
"Due to professional requirements, I cannot reveal my name, but you may call me the Magician."
"The props you found on yourselves earlier were just a little joke I played with everyone; please take your seats, the performance show is about to begin."
"Wait, hold on! Who are you? Who said you can just start performing? I don’t want to watch!" The blond player wedged between two rows of seats immediately protested, trying to squeeze out, but unexpectedly, before he could leave, the white box he had touched earlier opened by itself, and then he was forcibly pulled to stand between the two boxes, opposite the man with the top hat.
"It seems that a friend here can hardly wait." The Magician’s smile didn’t change as he addressed the crowd: "Don’t worry, today is a special show, every audience member will get to participate in the magic, if possible, could this friend please move forward?"
The brown eyes then turned towards Xu Huo.
The Magician, initially seated in the last row, had made his appearance known; aside from him and the blond player, everyone else had retreated to the front of the cabin, leaving the blond player as a participant in the magic, and now only Xu Huo was still at the back.
The Magician... Xu Huo’s gaze swept over the other’s eye mask and the moth-shaped pin on his chest, coincidentally, the "Magician’s Gift" poker card also used a moth pattern.
It should be a one-time use prop, even if Mr. Kang was one of its recipients, the prop should have expired... but now it seems, the game’s instructions may also be inaccurate at times.
Although Xu Huo did not know why the Magician had targeted Mr. Kang, his obvious new target was now on him; it’s just unknown whether he is the original owner of the Cubic Space.
Cubic Space Xu Huo had always carried with him.
Following his suggestion, Xu Huo moved to the front.
The Magician’s smile widened, then he shifted his gaze back to the blond player, "Just now I didn’t announce the rules of the performance, now everyone watch my hand."
He lifted his right hand repeatedly, after twice, his hand now contained a small yellow ball, announcing, "This small ball will appear in only one box in each round of the performance."
As he spoke, he placed the small ball into a white paper box, then flicked the box with his fingers. Both boxes began to spin rapidly, continuously swapping places. Simultaneously, as they exchanged positions, the colors of the boxes were changing as well.
"Please keep your eyes on the box that contains the ball," a few seconds later, the Magician reminded the blonde Player, "The Participant’s task is to pick out the correct box."
The blonde Player’s eyes couldn’t keep up long ago, but his body couldn’t move. He quickly said, "What if I pick the wrong one?"
The Magician smiled and said, "That would be too bad, as you won’t be able to participate in the next round of the performance."
"What is this..." the blonde Player urged, "Stop spinning them, stop spinning them! My eyes are getting blurred, I’ll choose now!"
Under the Magician’s lifted hand, both boxes returned to their original places, with the right hand holding a white box and the left hand a black one. He still held the boxes aloft and said, "Please pick out the one you think contains the small ball."
The blonde Player, without any hesitation, slapped the black one, but as the Magician announced, "Very unfortunate," the box was opened and found to be completely empty.
"How is that possible!" the blonde Player screamed in surprise and disbelief, "How could I have seen it wrong!"
It wasn’t just him; the Players behind him also displayed the same expressions. Although the positions and colors of the boxes were changing, there was a slight sound of the ball hitting the boxes, still within audible range. Their judgement was the same as the blonde Player’s; if he was wrong, it meant they wouldn’t choose correctly either.
"I couldn’t possibly be wrong, you must have cheated!" the blonde Player shouted at the Magician.
However, the Magician displayed a bizarre smile, "In a magic performance, disappearance is quite common."
After saying this and snapping his fingers, the blonde Player disappeared right before everyone’s eyes.
He truly disappeared, with no body, no blood, and of course, no sounds of breathing or heartbeat that could indicate if someone was alive.
And this was at ten thousand meters high; the airplane was only so big, where could a person go?
Some people turned their gaze towards the window.
"Young Master, the Tickets can’t be used." A bodyguard whispered quietly to the wealthy young man.
This went without saying; some had already tried using their Tickets when the Magician made his appearance.
Tickets couldn’t be used, which is typical either in an instance or on the Dimension Train, but up until now, there had been no game notification received, suggesting this wasn’t an instance at all. Yet it wasn’t the Dimension Train either, the only remaining explanation was that the Magician had done something unknown to them.
"Clap clap!" The Magician clapped his hands lightly, "Although we have lost one lucky audience, there are still plenty of audience friends present to continue the show, I’m looking forward to the next lucky audience’s performance!"
As his words fell, a burst of colorful streamers exploded from behind him, and as the multicolored paper strips fell, he did a performative spin in place, arms wide and body slightly leaning back, chin pointing towards the Players in front. With no sight of a person, he spun his right hand around, pointing at another Player.
