Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 1141: The Key Elements of a Successful Performance Show

Chapter 1141: Chapter 1141: The Key Elements of a Successful Performance Show

The person he pointed to was a bodyguard. That person looked at the young master with an ugly expression, and only after he nodded did the bodyguard slowly step forward.

He intentionally kept his distance from the Magician, as if he didn’t want to end up unable to move like the blond Player who "disappeared" earlier. However, as the Magician stood up straight again, he merely hooked his finger and the man was immediately moved stiffly in front of the cardboard box.

The Magician, standing two meters away, produced a small ball again, this time placing it into the black cardboard box.

The two boxes moved quickly and stopped after ten seconds. He then pretended to hold up the two boxes, asking the bodyguard to "choose the box containing the ball."

The bodyguard swallowed hard, his eyes quickly scanning back and forth between the two boxes. Now that one of his hands was free, he tapped a box, then suddenly smacked the black cardboard box and cunningly quipped, "I guess there’s no ball in this box!"

The black cardboard box slowly unfolded, and indeed, as he said, there was no ball inside. Just when he thought he had guessed correctly, the Magician let out a weird laugh and raised his right hand high to snap his fingers.

The bodyguard disappeared just like the blond Player!

"Why is that!" The young master exclaimed angrily: "Did he guess wrong?"

The Magician feigned regret as he said, "The rule of the performance is to select the box with the ball, and the audience friends are here having purchased tickets—are they here to see an empty box? A magic performance that can’t stir the emotions of the audience is a failed performance!"

The Players were indignant but dared not to speak out. However, the Magician did not care about what emotions these "audience friends" held. With a wave of his hand, he selected another "lucky audience member."

This time, the person seemed not as lucky as the previous bodyguard. Like the blond Player, he did not choose the box with the ball and was ’magically’ sent out of the show with a snap of the fingers.

"I think the box he picked didn’t have a ball in it at all!" The young master ground his teeth and said.

Trying to take advantage of choosing an empty box goes against the "performance rules", but obviously, there was no ball in either box, so it was impossible to choose correctly. This performance was utterly about mocking the Players!

"Respected Magician, I have a question." A slim and small female Player standing at the back suddenly spoke up.

The Magician seemed delighted to have someone cooperate and pointed a gloved hand forward, "Please step up and speak, distinguished audience friend!"

The female Player stepped forward and politely asked, "If we select the box with the ball, can we leave the show?"

"How can that be?" The Magician purposefully misconstrued the meaning of her words, "In a magic performance, being expelled from the show is the greatest punishment. An audience member who has completed the magic performance will naturally move on to the next round!"

At these words, everyone’s hearts sank.

"May I know what the next round of the performance is like?" The female Player continued, "Does it mean that if someone selects the ball, the show automatically moves on to the next round?"

The Magician stroked his chin with one hand, pretending to think before responding, "The goal of a magic show is secretive. What kind of surprise would it be if it was revealed in advance?"

"As for your second question, of course, after a successful end of a performance show, one can move on to the next show."

The female Player nodded, and took the initiative to say, "Then this time, let me choose."

"Clap, clap, clap!" The Magician clapped vigorously, urging other Players to applaud as well, "Welcome our first voluntary participant in today’s performance, the lucky audience member!"

Isolated clapping arose in the cabin, with no one playing along, but the Magician was unconcerned. He walked around the box to the female Player, reached behind her and plucked a rose, "A beautiful flower for one who loves magic."

"Thank you," the female Player took the flower amicably. Once the Magician returned to his position, she, too, was drawn by force in front of the cardboard box.

"Dear audience friends, now we will come to a small climax of the performance show. Whether this eager participant can pick the correct box, let us wait and see!"

"Has the plane been found?" After learning about the disappearance of the Ting City flight, Minister Fan had specially arranged for a group of Players with tracking expertise to come to Ting City. A fighter jet delivered the personnel within an hour, and after ten minutes of gathering information and developing an action strategy, these Players followed the plane’s scheduled route in search—unable to find the whole plane, they at least sought its wreckage.

An hour and a half after Chief Wu’s report, Minister Fan called again to inquire about the progress.

"The plane hasn’t been found," Chief Wu said with some difficulty. "But the official radar surveillance system registered three blips. According to the positions and altitude, Flight Jing 6538 is still following the scheduled route, we just can’t contact the crew."

"Three blips?" Minister Fan said, "Could it be an instance?"

Chief Wu couldn’t be certain because with each blip, a person fell from the plane, all resulting in deaths from high-altitude falls.

Ordinary Players, even if they can’t find refuge in an instance, should at least be able to land safely. Falling to death from a plane... it’s as if these three individuals plummeted completely without volition, which means it’s impossible that they had successfully escaped an instance.

"Initially we thought it was an instance, but considering the current situation, it is very likely a hijacking incident," Chief Wu said. "We’re uncertain if the plane will continue to follow the scheduled route, so the fighter jet doesn’t dare get too close."

"If it’s an Advanced Player from an external region, we need to keep a close watch," Minister Fan said. "This plane is headed to Jing City, and we must prevent any issues as it approaches the city!"

"We’re barely keeping up on Ting City’s end," Chief Wu said, "We need Jing City’s cooperation."

"Are you certain Xu Huo was on that flight?" Minister Fan asked after a moment of silence.

"Positive," said Chief Wu. "We’ve checked the airport surveillance. It was him, and his documents were in order."

"Then let’s wait a bit longer," Minister Fan said. "If there is no clear progress in half an hour, Jing City will consider taking drastic measures."

An invisible plane, if it indeed landed inside Jing City, that would be an unprecedented disaster. Therefore, the Special Defense Department cannot allow it to successfully approach Jing City. Unable to determine the situation and with the plane still missing, it might be better to bring it down en route!

With so many people’s safety in Jing City at stake, they can’t risk it for one person. Chief Wu was of course aware of this, so he did not try to buy time for Xu Huo. After hanging up the phone, he urgently contacted the searching Players, asking them to find a way to pinpoint the plane’s location. The best-case scenario would be to board the plane midair or, at the very least, to ascertain what exactly was happening inside the aircraft.

"... Even if we can’t get out, we must find a way to escape into the game," he said while looking at the locations of the three blips on the electronic device.
