108: Chapter 108 – Merit Descends 108: Chapter 108 – Merit Descends Otherwise, all the Sunlight Bodhisattva’s previous efforts will not only end up benefiting others but also make the Buddhist door the laughing stock of the Three Realms.

In the blink of an eye, the Sunlight Bodhisattva came up with a plan, he fiercely spat out a mouthful of blood, sprinkling it on the body of the Innate Fusang Tree.

Instantly, the transformation of the Innate Fusang Tree became even more intense, showing faint signs of completion.

At this time, the Sunlight Bodhisattva no longer cared about transforming the Innate Fusang Tree into a high-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure.

All he wanted now was for the Innate Fusang Tree to complete its transformation as soon as possible.

In this way, the appearance of the Innate Fusang Tree would drastically change, becoming an Innate Spiritual Treasure that’s entirely different from the Solar Sun God Stick.

So, as long as the Sunlight Bodhisattva insisted that this Innate Spiritual Treasure was not the Solar Sun God Stick, then the Jiang Family, no matter what they said, could not prove otherwise.

Such an approach would certainly cause the Sunlight Bodhisattva to lose a high-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure, but obtaining a high-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure in return was still quite worthwhile.

Moreover, under the current circumstances, if he did nothing, he wouldn’t even break even, let alone get a high-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure.

He had taken a considerable loss, it was as if all of his investment was gone!

Right now, all he could do was to recover some of the losses, just some.

After spitting out a mouthful of blood, the aura of the Sunlight Bodhisattva was significantly weaker.

Fortunately, the changes in the Innate Fusang Tree were promising, with strands of divine light radiating from it, astonishing to behold.

However, this was still not enough; it was too slow.

He discovered the problem too late.

The people from the Jiang Family had already reached the Spiritual Mountain and could arrive at this place at any time.

In his anxiousness, the Sunlight Bodhisattva gritted his teeth, ready to spit out another mouthful of blood to accelerate the transformation of the Innate Fusang Tree.

Just at that moment, the divine thought of the Buddha arrived.

With a quick glance at the situation, the Buddha immediately understood the Sunlight Bodhisattva’s plan.

He shouted: “Do not rush, my junior, let me lend you a hand.”

As he finished speaking, a piece of jade-like bamboo flew out of Buddha’s hand, landing at the root of the Innate Fusang Tree, where it was absorbed and consumed.

This was the Innate bamboo of suffering, also known as cleansed root bamboo, one of the premium Innate Spirit Roots, and one of the great treasures of Buddhism.

Endless sorrow enveloped the bamboo, causing anyone affected by the sorrow of this bamboo to feel the desire to die, lose all hope, and self-destruct in front of the bamboo.

At the same time, this treasure could seal one’s six senses, which was incredibly powerful.

Being such a precious treasure, the piece of jade bamboo the Buddha threw out was, of course, not the main item but a first-generation root derived from it.

Even so, that piece of jade bamboo was quite extraordinary.

It was a top mid-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure, just a half-step away from becoming a high-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure.

If it were not for the need to counter the Jiang Family, the Buddha would not have been willing to feed it to the Innate Fusang Tree.

Losing such a treasure would of course upset the Buddha!

Whoosh…

After swallowing the bamboo of suffering, the body of the Innate Fusang Tree abruptly grew larger by several times, radiating a splendid divine light.

This was the Innate Dao Rhyme, hanging like ribbons on the branches of the Innate Fusang Tree, swaying with the wind, floating endlessly, extremely pleasing to the eye.

At one moment, the divine light seemed to have reached its limit, and began to shrink.

Seeing this, both the Buddha and the Sunlight Bodhisattva smirked.

The Innate Fusang Tree was about to complete its transformation.

Meanwhile, as the Solar Sun God Stick was close to completing its transformation, Jiang Chen, who was far away in the Great Thunderclap Temple, suddenly felt uncomfortable, as if something precious was about to leave him forever.

Being affected by this, almost subconsciously, Jiang Chen raised his right arm, clenched his fist in the air, and shouted into the distance: “Solar Sun God Stick, come!”

As soon as the words fell, from afar, the location of Sunlight Bodhisattva’s Taoist Field, a hollow Innate Eight Diagrams imprint on the Innate Fusang Tree quietly dissipated.

The power that blocked the mystery of the Solar Sun God Stick also disappeared without a trace.

In an instant, the aura of the Solar Sun God Stick filled Heaven and Earth once again.

In that moment, the Heavenly Dao sensed something, auspicious clouds swirled, and golden light gathered, falling towards the Spiritual Mountain in the west.

As this cluster of golden light came to the sky above the Spiritual Mountain, it suddenly divided into two, flying in two different directions.

Half of it entered the body of the Solar Sun God Stick, and the other half surged into Jiang Chen’s body.

This was the golden light of merits!

Jiang Chen had merit for vanquishing demons, for preventing evil spirits from harming the human world, and for quelling the chaos in the Netherworld.

Naturally, the Heavenly Dao would bestow merits upon him in recognition.

It’s just that the previous obstruction of the Innate Eight Diagrams by Jiang Hao prevented the Heavenly Dao from settling the merits in time.

But with Jiang Chen’s shout, the Innate Eight Diagrams disappeared, and the aura of the Solar Sun God Stick reemerged, so the Heavenly Dao quickly sensed it and bestowed upon them the merits they deserved.

The golden light of merit!”

Recognizing the origins of the golden light, the present Bodhisattvas exclaimed in envy.

In the practice of Buddhism, merit is the most important, followed by spirituality, and then divine ability.

The fact that merit is ranked first in their cultivation shows how much importance they place on it.

Even the powerful Bodhisattvas need to accumulate merit, so how could they not be envious when they see Jiang Chen accumulating merit?

At this time, Golden Cicada had just received the order and was about to go to the Sunlight Bodhisattva’s Taoist Field to invite him over.

Just as he was about to leave, he saw the merits coming down, causing Golden Cicada to unconsciously stop in his tracks.

However, it didn’t matter anymore, there was no need for him to invite the Sunlight Bodhisattva.

Because, with the influx of merit, Jiang Chen suddenly found that the connection between him and the Solar Sun God Stick, which was on the verge of breaking, was actually strengthened, becoming clearer and clearer.

As if blessed, Jiang Chen again shouted: “Solar Sun God Stick, come!”

Boom….

In the distance, the Innate Fusang Tree seemed to respond, suddenly shooting out a divine light that covered thousands of feet, and it once again transformed into the shape of the Solar Sun God Stick.

Seeing this, even if the Buddha wanted to stop it, he was powerless to do so.

Their plan had failed.

If the merit had not been given before, he might have had a way to stop it, but after merit was bestowed, even someone as powerful as him was powerless.

The merit was bestowed, and the connection between the Solar Sun God Stick and Jiang Chen was as if blessed by Heaven and Earth.

Anyone attempting to destroy it would be making an enemy of Heaven and Earth.

Making an enemy of Heaven and Earth and inciting divine wrath were more unwelcome outcomes.

Looking at the brilliantly radiant Solar Sun God Stick, the Buddha felt helpless.

The glow was as dazzling as the sun, and almost the entire Spiritual Mountain could be seen.

It was impossible to hide it.

Everyone must know by now that the Solar Sun God Stick was in the hands of the Sunlight Bodhisattva.

Realizing this, Buddha retracted all his emotions, and emotionlessly turned to the Sunlight Bodhisattva, and said: “Junior, this time, we were outmaneuvered.

There’s no need to complain about it.”

“Let’s accept this outcome.

When we find an opportunity in the future, we can recover our status.

It’s never too late.”
