Journey to the West: I have Nine Golden Crows Inside Me -
Chapter 109 - 109 109 The Buddhist Door Surrounded by Forested Hills
109: Chapter 109: The Buddhist Door Surrounded by Forested Hills 109: Chapter 109: The Buddhist Door Surrounded by Forested Hills After some hesitation, the Buddha proceeded to say, “As for your losses, the Buddhist door will bear it all.”
This time, it can’t be said that everything was Sunlight Bodhisattva’s fault.
After all, if not for Jiang Hao’s scheming, Sunlight Bodhisattva would not have touched the Sun God Staff.
Shaking his head, Sunlight Bodhisattva responded calmly, “Elder brother exaggerates.
It is my incompetence that led me to fall into the schemes of others.
How could I let the Buddhist door bear my losses for me?”
“It’s just a few trifles, you can bear it.”
Though Buddha meant well, Sunlight Bodhisattva was evidently reluctant to owe him any favor.
After all, the Buddhist door was not united, and the relationship between Sunlight Bodhisattva and Buddha could not be harmonious.
One was a native disciple of the Western teaching, the other was an outsider.
How could they be on good terms?
If Sunlight Bodhisattva accepted Buddha’s favor today, how would he oppose him in the future?
Thus, Sunlight Bodhisattva would rather bear the losses himself than accept Buddha’s favor.
Due to the blessings of Master Zhunti who enlightened all beings, the Buddhist teachings were known to have countless sects, among which four major factions were the most powerful.
Ranked first was the Jiejiao Sect led by Buddha.
Despite being outsiders, they control the power within the Buddhist door.
Ranked second was the Ancient Western teaching faction dominated by Maitreya Buddha and Bhaisajyaguru.
Sunlight Bodhisattva belonged to this faction and even held a high position within it.
This faction was the orthodox of the Buddhist door, a native being of the Western land.
Unfortunately, due to their incompetence, the significant power of the Buddhist door fell into the Buddha’s hands, an outsider.
Hence, their relationship with Buddha was not harmonious.
Ranked third was the Chan Teaching faction led by Ancient Buddha Randeng, and ranked fourth was the Demon Clan faction headed by Great Sun Tathagata.
Apart from these four factions, there were other minor factions in Buddhism, such as the Eight Departments of Buddhism, Dingguang Happy Buddha, and so on.
The complexity of these factions was extremely challenging to comprehend.
Spiritual Mountain was not any Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
With so many factions in existence, the power struggles and conflicts were countless.
It’s more complicated than mundane court intrigues.
…
…
“Alas, since you’re persistent about it, elder brother won’t dissuade you anymore.” Seeing Sunlight Bodhisattva’s insistence, Buddha didn’t persist.
He had predicted that Sunlight Bodhisattva would not agree, hence he said it.
If Sunlight Bodhisattva had really agreed, Buddha would not have made such an offer.
Of course, even if he truly offered, the loss would eventually be borne by the Western teaching faction and would not fall on him.
The Western teaching faction disliked the Buddha, and likewise, Buddha didn’t particularly like them either.
They all were hoping that the other would encounter a Neverending Calamity.
Seeing Sunlight Bodhisattva’s misfortune, Buddha might be secretly delighted in his heart.
The loss of his bitter bamboo was actually inconsequential as the Western Two Saints would compensate him double.
Who made Sunlight Bodhisattva a disciple of Master Zhunti?
If a disciple makes a mistake, the teacher naturally steps in to clean up the mess.
Although Sunlight Bodhisattva could not see through Buddha’s thoughts, he could guess them.
He coldly snorted and said to Buddha:
“Elder brother, please return the Sun God Staff back to the people of the Jiang Family.
As for me, I have lost face today and don’t deserve to meet friends in the same path.”
“Tell them I know well that my sins are heavy, I was overcome by greed.
I’ve decided to imprison myself in the Seal Demon Tower for a hundred years to redeem my sins.”
Having said that, Sunlight Bodhisattva paid his respects to Buddha and walked towards the Seal Demon Tower.
This matter needed to be explained to the Jiang Family.
Just returning the Sun God Staff was not enough.
Hence, Sunlight Bodhisattva chose to imprison himself in the Seal Demon Tower as a means to give the Jiang Family an explanation.
“Heh heh!”
“Jiang Hao, I’ll remember this grudge.
We are not finished.”
On the way to the Seal Demon Tower, Sunlight Bodhisattva thought of what happened today and clenched his fists.
Being outwitted without knowing it and suffering immense losses was a great humiliation.
At this moment, the hatred Sunlight Bodhisattva harbored for Jiang Hao reached its peak.
If he didn’t avenge this grudge, he might not attain the Great Dao.
Similarly, if he couldn’t retrieve the Sun God Staff, his thoughts wouldn’t be unobstructed.
He had officially become enemies with the Jiang family.
“Alas!” Watching the retreating figure of Sunlight Bodhisattva, Buddha was unable to resist shaking his head.
What a pity this man was.
If Sunlight Bodhisattva could let go of his hatred, he might attain the Quasi-Saint Dao Fruit on this land.
Could the Western Two Saints not see through Jiang Hao’s scheming?
Jiang Hao was not the Heavenly Emperor Fuxi, what merit did he have to escape the perception of the two saints?
The reason they didn’t act was to use this opportunity to get Sunlight Bodhisattva closer to their goal.
Once Sunlight Bodhisattva practices and reaches the Quasi-Saint realm, the troublesome one will be the Jiang family.
The plotting among the wise is like this.
You think you’re scheming against me, but in fact, I’m also scheming against you.
It’s all about who’s more skillful.
Unfortunately, the Western Two Saints lost this time.
Sunlight Bodhisattva did not see through the gains and losses and instead fell into obsession, focused on seeking revenge.
But is the Jiang family that easy to deal with?
This clan’s deep waters even gave Buddha a hard time understanding their depth.
Why would the powerful Witch Clan of ancient times reincarnate in the Jiang family, and even be vigorously cultivated by the Jiang family?
There are deep secrets hidden in this.
You should know that the Jiang family did not gain its glory because of the Flame Emperor.
Long before the Flame Emperor was born, the Jiang clan was already one of the most potent forces in the Human Race.
Choosen Sunlight Bodhisattva to be an enemy of the Jiang family was not wise.
If the Buddhist door was united, Sunlight Bodhisattva would undoubtedly have no reason to fear the Jiang family, and it should be the other way around.
With two saints in the Buddhist door, its strength far exceeds the Jiang family.
The problem is that the Buddhist door is not united at all.
It’s full of different factions, and many people are waiting to see Sunlight Bodhisattva make a fool of himself.
Seeing Sunlight Bodhisattva becoming an enemy of the Jiang family, instead of secretly helping, they’re thankful they’re not the ones tripping him up.
The struggle between native forces and outsiders in the Buddhist door is more violent than one can imagine.
This is a conflict that even saints can’t solve.
Sunlight Bodhisattva’s greatest difficulty in dealing with Jiang Hao is not from the Jiang Family, but from within the Buddhist door.
Of course, if Sunlight Bodhisattva could overcome Jiang Hao under such circumstances, or even manage to scheme against him, Sunlight Bodhisattva could let go of his obsession and validate the Quasi-Saint position in one fell swoop.
This level of accomplishment in the Quasi-Saint realm would be much more substantial than those achieved by merely letting go.
Maybe, this was also the part of saints’ calculation.
Who could truly see through the thoughts of the saints without reaching that realm?
The calculations of saints are always like an antelope hanging horns with no trace to follow.
