Chapter 79: Very pissed!

Chapter 79: Very pissed!

The late afternoon sun bathed the hotel room in a warm, golden glow as Chris slowly stirred awake. He felt muddleheaded for a moment and rubbed his eyes, trying to shake off the grogginess that enveloped him. Then, as his memory returned, disappointment washed over him like a crashing wave. Sky was gone.

Maybe he had been wrong the first time, but now, he was sure that the boy was nowhere in this luxury room. He could feel it in his spirit.

However, he still glanced around the room, searching for any trace of him. But the silence was deafening. The TV, once filled with the cheerful sounds of cartoons, was now dark and lifeless. Sky had left, and Chris couldn’t help but feel hurt by his sudden departure, even though he shouldn’t.

He looked out the window that Sky had opened, frowning in confusion, before he searched around for his phone to check the time. It was already past 5 p.m., much to his surprise.

Just how long had he slept?

He noticed a series of missed calls and messages, but what caught his eye was Sky’s name on the list of messages he had received. Obviously, he opened that one first.

"Didn’t want to disturb your pretty sleep. I hope you do not sleep for the rest of the day. Eat the food in the microwave," the text read.

Chris’s mind blanked out for a minute, thinking of what to do. He had to do something. Continuing like this was bad for him. Was he cursed? He could not keep having unrequited feelings for guys, especially when he didn’t want any kind of relationship with them. However, his brain wasn’t helping matters, as certain scenes replayed in his head. The two of them flirting with each other, cuddling throughout the night, the finger-licking, the kiss.

He would have been totally fine if his desire was only for Sky’s body. If that were the case, he wouldn’t care about anything else. But he didn’t only want the body. He just realized he liked the presence. Just cuddling, seeing movies, eating together, and flirting. Just being in each other’s presence.

"You’re a fucking idiot, Chris." He said to himself as he ran his hands through his hair, his frustration evident.

It wasn’t only sex. It was even more than a crush.

He fucking liked Sky Sato and wanted to possess him. That was crazy.

Wilson and Rachel. He had forgotten about them.

Rachel had also texted him and left several missed calls, but there were none from Wilson, which was strange. Guilt gnawed at him as he realized he had forgotten about them entirely. With a sense of urgency, he dialled Wilson’s number as he left the bed for the bathroom to quickly freshen up and check their rooms. He wondered where they were and what they were up to since he had been sleeping for a while. When the call didn’t go through, he remembered Wilson hadn’t been with his phone when he brought him here yesterday, and that made him worried now.

He began to dial Rachel’s number just as he passed by the mirror and paused for a second when he noticed the funny whiskers drawn on his face and a mild stain of biscuit crumbs on his forehead.

Sky.

Crazy bastard.

Chris thought to himself in amusement just as Rachel’s phone connected, making him breathe out in relief.

"Finally! We’ve been so worried about you!" Rachel’s concerned voice filled his ears.

"I fell asleep and just woke up."

"The manager of the hotel told us you were resting and would check up on us later. But why didn’t you let us know your room number? Were you... mad at us about yesterday?" Rachel asked, her voice tinged with guilt.

He wanted to respond to that, but then he noticed something was not right. Rachel was speaking unusually loudly and excitedly. In the background, he could hear faint sounds of laughter and music, and a sinking feeling settled in his stomach. "Where are you right now, Rachel?" he asked, trying to keep his anger in check.

"Just hear me out, okay?" She started.

He didn’t have a good feeling about whatever she had to say.

"So I and Wilson met earlier when we could not reach you and he wanted to find his phone. Someone answered the call when we used my number to dial it and told us they picked it up at Ash’s place and asked us to come pick it up here. We didn’t plan to attend this party." Rachel explained, her voice somewhat muffled by the noise around her.

"There is another party?!"

Chris’s frustration boiled over, especially since he could tell that she was drinking. He couldn’t believe they hadn’t talked about last night and how much they frustrated him but had simply left him alone and gone to another party after the chaos they caused last night.

"It’s... like a get-together of some sort. We didn’t plan for this, I swear—"

"You know what? I don’t care!" He snapped angrily. "You two better find your way back here on your own—"

"I can’t even find him!" She said in frustration. "It’s also why I have been trying to call you."

"What? Where did he go to?" Chris asked, a little alarmed, especially when he remembered Wilson’s number still wasn’t going through and he was new here. Where would he have gone if the party was just a small get-together, as Rachel claimed?

"Where? I’m not sure. He went to find the person, but I last saw him with Henry."

"Henry?"

"Yes. Sato and his friends are here too."

What the actual hell?

Wait a minute... Sky was also there?

"Sky Sato?" Chris asked hoping he was hearing things.

"Yes. I think I can easily find Wilson by asking other people about Sato’s location. Why didn’t I think of that—"

"HE IS THERE?!" He bellowed, making Rachel squeal in shock.

It wasn’t even 24 hours ago that he was drugged at one party, but he had the guts to leave him while he was sleeping to come to attend another party!?

Were all of these people kidding him right now?

Or was he simply overreacting?

"What is wrong, Sky?" She asked in concern.

His tone turned angry as he ordered, "Share your location with me. Right now!"

After ending the call, Chris washed his face and stormed to the suitcase the manager had brought him this morning, fuming. He couldn’t confront them looking dishevelled, so he quickly changed into a comfy dress, his hands trembling with frustration. As he retrieved his phone and found the location Rachel had shared, he wasn’t prepared for what awaited him.

As he stepped out of the hotel room, the air felt charged with tension. The sun’s rays seemed to intensify, mirroring the turmoil inside him. He was determined to confront these silly people, to demand answers, and make them understand how pissed he was right now. He followed the directions to the location, expecting a small gathering or casual get-together. But what he found left him dumbfounded.

It was like a little beach resort, but he wouldn’t exactly call it a beach since it was more like a lake.

The venue was filled with bright lights, vibrant decorations, and energetic music. There was also a bonfire somewhere.

Even before he went in, he was able to get some information about this from some passersby.

It was a full-blown holiday party organized by some students he had never heard of. It had been suggested yesterday during Ash’s party to enable those who could not get an invite for Ash to be able to come to this one.

So it had been planned in less than 24 hours, yet the crowd was insane.

A get-together? Rachel had to be crazy to call it that.

If he thought he could not get any angrier, he realized that was impossible when he began to dial Rachel’s number again and could not reach her.

Thinking fast, he was about to dial Sky’s number when Sky’s text coincidentally came in, and he clicked on it.

"I can see you, pretty boy." Sky’s text said making him pause.

Focus!

This was not the time to let the stupid boy get to him.

He looked up and began to look around for Sky, but then another text came in.

"Why are you here?"

Was he kidding him right now? Angrily, Chris began to text.

"I should be asking you that."

"Why the hell are you here?"

"And where the fuck is Wilson?"

He sent those texts one after the other, his chest heaving in anger as he aggressively tapped the letters on his phone’s screen.

Sky was typing, but then it cleared off. After a second, he started typing again.

"You are so pretty when you’re mad." Sky’s message read, making Chris look at his screen in disbelief before he scoffed and ran his hand through his hair in frustration. He was going to kill this bastard one day.

However, when he looked ahead, he locked eyes with Sky, who was sitting around a table with a group of guys. They seemed to be having a meeting there, but Sky held his phone in one hand, a laugh playing on his lips when Chris met his gaze.
