Chapter 64: Flirts

Chapter 64: Flirts

"Tell me about yourself," Sky said, pulling him out of his thoughts.

Well, that was quite random.

If Sky were there with him right now, he would have seen the suspicious look on Chris’s face.

No straight guy ever asked another guy to tell him about himself. But once again, he didn’t want to get his hopes up. Not that he was hoping for anything anyway.

"You already know me." He said in a flat tone.

"I don’t." Sky insisted.

How do people usually answer that question? What should he say?

"I’m an only child. My parents... work. I have a few other relatives but am not close to any of them."

That was it.

"What do they do? Your parents, I mean." Sky asked.

He was hoping Sky wouldn’t ask that. Lately, he was beginning to feel bad for lying to him. Sky didn’t deserve it. But he also didn’t want to tell anyone.

"They both work in the office." He said it plainly and hoped Sky wouldn’t push. Thankfully, he didn’t.

"So... how did you learn how to ride a bike?"

Was Sky really curious about him? That was... he would have said strange, but at this point, nothing about the way Sky behaved seemed strange to him anymore.

"It’s quite common where I come from. I had friends who had bikes."

That wasn’t fully a lie. He did have friends who had bikes.

"What about you? Your parents?" He asked, pushing the question back to him.

"My mum is a high school teacher. My dad is into real estate. You’ve already met my sister, uncle, and cousin—"

"When did I meet your cousin?" Chris asked as he lay on the bed.

"The first time we met. Remember? I was with a little girl."

Chris remembered the first time he saw Sky when he had been with Rachel in that Cafe.

"You still remember that day?" He asked in surprise.

"Why shouldn’t I?"

"I’m just surprised you do since you never mentioned it."

"You didn’t mention it either, so why should I?"

"Okay, okay, fine. You like to have the final say." Chris said in defeat, and Sky chuckled before he started another round of questions.

"What are your plans for the holiday?"

"I’ll be hanging out with Rachel tomorrow. For the other days, I’d have to think of something. What about yours?"

There was a pause on the other end before Sky answered. "My mum is organizing a small party for her birthday. We were asked to invite friends. So keep Sunday free."

"You should first ask me if I have plans for Sunday." Chris pointed it out to him.

"I want you there, Chris. I am giving you a chance to see me after missing me for so long."

Amused, Chris asked, "Why does it feel like that is what you feel instead? Do you miss me?"

Again with the stupid smile and lip bite as he waited for Sky’s answer.

"Is there any reason why I should miss you?" Sky asked quietly.

"Cause you’ve probably been lowkey enjoying my flirting?" Chris offered. "Maybe you even want another finger-licking moment—" He swore he tried to hold it in, but as soon as he said that, he burst into laughter even before Sky did.

"Do not be gross!" Sky said in between his fits of laughter then asked, "What about tomorrow?"

"What about tomorrow?" Chris echoed, confused.

"Are you still going to the pool party?"

Oh, that!

"Yes."

In fact, both he and Rachel received an invitation at the same time during their lunch. How Ash got their contact details, he didn’t know.

The text had just popped on their phone with a code specially for them, and Rachel had been really happy about it and wanted to go, so he decided to just go with her since he was bent on making her feel better.

When Sky still didn’t say anything, Chris asked, "You were invited, right?"

Sky scoffed. "Even before the party was planned, I already had an invite. Besides, someone like me does not need it. I could just show up there and walk in. However, I won’t be going."

"Oh! What a lovely kind of connection to have." Chris said sarcastically.

"I know, right? What’s your favourite colour?"

Another random question.

"Black. Why?"

"I was just curious."

"What’s yours?"

"I kinda like blue."

"What about food?" Chris asked him since he was also a little bit curious about him.

"I love burgers."

"Ah! No wonder you almost wanted to choke me with it."

Sky laughed loudly. "What would you rather I choke you with?"

Silence.

Awkward silence.

Very long silence.

Sky suddenly burst into laughter, and so did Chris. Both knew how that sounded and why the awkward silence had followed, but they didn’t bother to mention it.

It was safe to not mention it.

Chris shook his head to get rid of the sinful image that was forming in his head.

"I got to go now. The guys are calling." Sky told him.

Chris didn’t want him to leave, but he tried to sound nonchalant as he said, "Okay. Ciao."

"Do not miss me too much. You can always call me. You know that, right?" Sky spoke softly.

Once again, Chris followed up and, in a flirty tone, said, "I know, baby."

Sky let out a giggle and said a quiet, adorable bye before he ended the call, leaving Chris smiling to himself like an idiot.

Why did he call Sky again?

Once again, Sky had won. He was a sore loser whenever Sky was involved.
