Chapter 280: If he was determined, he could do anything

Dongwoo used the entire day to rest up.

They had work piled up, but they had to shift it and just focus on the things that could be done without Dongwoo.

Well, he didn’t really rest up entirely as he had to edit the pictures, and to do that, he needed to use the newly bought computer in his house.

Just his laptop wasn’t enough.

And thanks to that, he had to go home. Well, the twins needed to go to work so he was alone.

He worked on the filters and everything necessary, not letting his grudge against Song Haijin get in the way of his professionalism.

He made her look stunning. She already was, and the pictures came out great, but for some reason, he felt he needed to make her shine brighter and allow her allure as a woman to shine.

Maybe he was doing this to prove her wrong that he would never let his emotions get in the way of his work. Or he just wanted the twins to look stunning standing next to the stunning star.

They were all good looking but since she had quite the fame, he knew a lot of people would pay attention to her.

He didn’t want to be seen as making her much less appealing than she was, just so he could make his models more stunning.

He was a professional. Such things weren’t in his thoughts at all.

Dongwoo let go of his mouse and stretched his arms.

He felt tired. It had been a while since he worked so hard on just one set of pictures.

There were others that needed his attention but... He decided to rest for a while.

He got up and dropped his body on his bed.

’I’m sleepy.’ He thought, as his eyelashes fluttered. He blinked slowly and stared at the ceiling.

It was plain white.

He could remember the days when he just moved in and the ceiling looked so foreign to him.

His life had taken a turn for the better.

The days when he had to stare up at his gray and cracked ceiling were no more.

There weren’t bills piling up at his doorstep, waiting for a repayment.

There weren’t spoiled appliances that needed to be repaired or changed.

There wasn’t a space on the floor where he had to spread his futon to sleep every night.

His life had truly taken a turn and even if it had been a while, he still dwelled on it, feeling melancholy.

He turned to the side and thought of the twins. He closed his eyes and thought to himself,

’I want to be strong.’ he opened his eyes and stared at his pillow, but in fact, he was just staring in a straight line, not caring for what was in front of him. ’I want to contribute just as much to this relationship. I want to... No longer be scared.’

They say that if just wishing and desiring could solve problems, then there would be no need for effort.

So, just wishing and desiring to be strong so he could contribute to their relationship so that he could no longer be a crybaby who got scared easily, wouldn’t cut it.

He had to put in effort. He had to act. He had to... Strengthen his heart.

Just as Seojin said, he just had to think outside it all. Not just succumbing to the fear, he had to ask himself what the other person was capable of doing.

What was... Shinwoo capable of?

They were both men and even if he, Dongwoo, didn’t have the courage of a real man, even if he didn’t throw his fists and only knew how to cry, he could stand up for himself.

If he was determined, he could do anything.

Yes, that would be his driving force.

No matter who it was, he wouldn’t let them get in the way of his happy life. If he told himself this, then he would actually be able to accomplish it.

Shinwoo couldn’t do anything.

All he knew how to do was use his words in the most disgusting way, belittling him and making him feel like he was worse off than shit.

That was all he was capable of.

Dongwoo fell asleep and muttered in his sleep,

"He can’t... Do anything to me."

He slept off and slept for a long time because the next moment he woke up, it was already dark outside.

He sat up and rubbed his eyes.

’I slept for so long?’ he thought and yawned. ’I do feel refreshed though. The doctor told me to get plenty of rest and even take vitamins.’

He got up and went to his drawer to take out the vitamins he had kept there when he realized he had kept them in Seojin’s drawer, not his.

’I guess I have to go over to their place.’ He thought and yawned once more.

It looked like the twins were working late. He hadn’t heard his phone ring with a call or beep with a text. He wondered if it was because they didn’t want to bother him or if it was because they were ultra busy.

No, even in their busiest days when he was in the studio with them, they still dropped a text. So, they probably didn’t want to disturb him and refrained from calling or texting.

Or so he thought.

But where was his phone?

He checked the table where he was sure he kept it but it wasn’t there.

He checked his bed and even the kitchen and living room. But his phone was nowhere to be found.

"That’s odd." He thought out loud and decided maybe he left it in the twin’s apartment but didn’t realize it.

He picked himself up and went to his door, intending to head to the twin’s apartment.

He noticed the door wasn’t properly closed and there was a show stopping it from closing completely.

"Are they in there? Why didn’t they come to me right away after getting back?" He wondered but before he stretched his hand out to push the door open, he started hearing quite a ruckus coming from inside.

It was odd because the twins never invited anyone to their apartment.

If his memory served him right, they said something like hating it when others infringed on their personal space, especially when it was a place where they loved to spend time with their lover, which was him.

"I will not stand for this." He heard Minwoo’s angry voice flare and flinched.

What was... Minwoo doing there?

"We’re doing all that we can." That was a stranger’s voice and Dongwoo furrowed his eyebrows.

What was going on?

He wanted to open the door but he was worried. What if what was going on inside shouldn’t be seen by him?

Maybe they didn’t want him to know what was going on that was why they did not come to him.

But... What was going on?

’I’ll just go in.’ he thought, and just before he pushed the door open, he heard his name, and he paused.

"I can’t believe this. I can’t believe Dongwoo Hyung will have to go through something like this." That was Minwoo’s voice once again. He wasn’t sounding so angry like he did just now. But rather... He was worried? Anxious? "I was reckless. I didn’t think this far. I didn’t think she would stoop to any level just to get what she wants."

He couldn’t tell but... He was more eager to know what was going on.

"Hyung?" Dongwoo heard Seojun’s voice and turned his head to find Seojun approaching.

He had this shocked expression on his face. But seeing Dongwoo standing in front of his slightly opened door got him even more shocked.

"You..."

"What’s going on, Seojun?"
