Chapter 618: Chapter 617: Meeting Pier Ross Again
Yusuf Zuck would receive a call from Russ Trujillo every day around 2 a.m. Due to the timezone differences, he didn’t care whether Yusuf was asleep or not; he certainly wasn’t, so he would definitely make a call at 2 a.m. to provide updates on the Dragon Gate Passage.
In recent days, the Dragon Gate was still active, with people continuously entering—folks from the martial world, like Truth-Seeking Experts or Grandmasters. These individuals had already embarked on the path of cultivation, making them even more powerful, so naturally, they would take the risk.
The Dragon Group didn’t prevent anyone either; if you have the Dragon Gate Order, then you were free to enter. The more martial artists left, the quieter the world became.
On the fifth night of Yusuf living on the island, four or five hours before 2 a.m., he suddenly received a call from Russ Trujillo.
Calculating the time, it must’ve been around 2 or 3 in the morning back home, right?
"What’s happened?" Yusuf immediately picked up the phone and asked.
"Just now, three people rushed in, killed the sentries, and took down one of our Truth-Insight." Russ spoke solemnly.
"Hmm, go on," Yusuf nodded and prompted.
"We have surveillance equipment outside, so I saw Tyler Nash and Ty Meskill; we’re checking the identity of the third one."
"Them? They went in?" Yusuf inhaled deeply. He had been waiting for Tyler Nash and Ty Meskill to show up again all this time. Unfortunately, they hadn’t appeared for over a year, and now they had actually gone into the Dragon Gate Passage.
"They went in," Russ inhaled deeply.
"Okay, then let them go. I got it," Yusuf also took a deep breath. It was better for these people to leave; it meant less worry for him in the future.
After hanging up the phone, Yusuf couldn’t fall back asleep and instead got up and walked up to the rooftop.
Maurice Singleton left, as did Luciano and Alfredo Meskill. Elena and Selena Gould went with them.
Yusuf was planning to take the flight the next afternoon to Florida State in the United States, as a member of the Ross Family, Pier Ross’s father, lived in Florida.
It was necessary to settle Pier Ross’s matter so his only future concern would be about Japan. So, he’d have to visit there one more time, check on Inako, and take care of her father. Then, the world would be peaceful, and he could truly start enjoying life.
As for the Dragon Gate, he honestly had no plans to go there now.
Maybe a hundred years later, when his father passed, his sister aged, his wives rested in peace, and if he really wasn’t dead by then, he could consider exploring it—but with family around, he wouldn’t travel far.
...
The next morning, after having his last meal with the two French chefs, Yusuf boarded the helicopter and headed straight for Rio de Janeiro.
Although he booked a flight to ’Jacksonville’ in Florida State, Yusuf didn’t board through the check-in gate but instead made himself Invisible and bypassed the security check-in.
This time, he also didn’t go to the luggage hold, as it seemed his ability to become Invisible could now last for roughly thirty hours. So as long as there was an empty seat in the cabin, he would take it when necessary.
The flight took off smoothly, and Yusuf sat in the back, closing his eyes to rest and also contemplating how to deal with the Ross Family upon arrival.
Pier Ross had been against him several times, even sending people to kidnap his sister. Such a person was extremely dangerous and unforgivable, so Pier Ross must die!
As for whether the entire Ross Family needed to die, that would depend on the circumstances.
The Ross Family was simply too massive; they controlled banks, and it seemed like all his money was deposited with their Clan’s bank. So if they froze his accounts, there would be nowhere to sue.
This scenario was inconceivable, so Yusuf had to consider an all-encompassing strategy.
Additionally, they were shareholders of HSBC and likely major ones at that, while he was just a minor shareholder. Hence, the Ross Family probably knew everything about him already.
This time, he would first find little Roswell and, after killing little Roswell, then talk to big Roswell. If they couldn’t come to an agreement, he would start with the big ones and kill down the line, sparing no one.
The plane landed in Jacksonville, a city with a large white population and a lot of people.
The United States has vast territories, with over fifty state capitals; you could say the land is sparsely populated. There are many places with just long highways and wilderness only, like in the state of Florida, where the cities aren’t big and you could drive hundreds of miles without seeing a single town.
However, it has to be admitted that their roads are really well-made, not like back home, where they break and need fixing year after year.
After leaving the airport, Yusuf Zuck took to the skies and began searching from one direction, remembering the scent of vampires, so he could distinguish it.
Soon, as his telekinesis swept through several blocks in succession, he found, to his stark realization, that there were many, many people carrying the scent of the Blood Race – men and women alike, living or working during the day, not just walking at night.
Of course, these Blood Race members must have impure lineage; they probably only had one-quarter or one-eighth, or even one-sixteenth of Blood Race blood, just a hint of Blood Race scent.
Yusuf Zuck continued his search and then inadvertently caught sight of an acquaintance.
Pier Ross, this member of the Blood Race whom he had tortured severely, was also in this city!
This person must be of the purer bloodline, but also obviously not of direct descent. There is a lot of difference between pure bloodline and half-bloodline.
At the moment, Pier Ross was sitting alone in an empty bar, drinking, looking quite haggard, as if he had aged considerably.
Yusuf Zuck descended, pushed open the door, and entered, becoming visible automatically.
"Sorry, we’re pretending to be closed during the day, no service," Pier Ross, without turning around, continued to drink and spoke.
"I think you owe me a drink!" Yusuf Zuck walked over to him and sat down.
Pier Ross was shocked. It was the devil’s voice. How could he hear the devil’s voice here?
Already slightly inebriated, he immediately sobered up and then stared in horror, his whole body shaking non-stop.
It was a devil — this person was a devil sent by Satan, and it was because of this very devil that he had ended up in his current state.
"No... why are you here..." Pier’s scream halted abruptly when his body suddenly shook, then dissolved into a cloud of black mist which emitted a screech as it attempted to flee rapidly.
"Come back," Yusuf Zuck said with a faint smile. With a swift motion, he reached into the black mist and caught a giant bat, nearly one meter in length, with a human head. It was grasped tightly in his hand.
"So this is your true form? Elijah Burch was right, you are a western demon!" Yusuf Zuck sneered coldly, "Do you want to die, or shall you buy me a drink?"
"Guh guh guh~" Pier Ross swallowed hard, then his body morphed and transformed, reverting back to human form.
Truly miraculous, members of the Blood Race could turn into flying bats; they could grow winged limbs!
"Respected Mr. Zuck, welcome to the United States, welcome to Florida. Your best friend, Pier Ross, sends his greetings!" This creature, once back in human form, started being polite again, like an old gentleman.
"I’m here for a drink, where’s all this nonsense coming from?" Yusuf Zuck snorted coldly.
"Yes, yes, yes." Pier immediately went behind the bar, took out a good bottle of liquor, poured half a glass for Yusuf Zuck and half for himself.
"Respected sir, I’m truly pleased to see you again."
Yusuf Zuck drained the glass in one gulp, then smiled and said, "Little Roswell, or Roswell Ross, where is he?"
"I do not know; I’ve been banished from the clan. Everything I own now is tied to this ragged bar. Due to the failure of the last mission, I have been estranged from the Ross Family. I’m truly sorry, so I do not know the whereabouts of young master Will!"
