Yusuf Zuck discovered that Ember Vance was not truly brain dead, as she could still respond to his telekinetic call and send him signals.

Yusuf Zuck, like clutching at straws, began calling out to her repeatedly, transmitting signals with his telekinesis to communicate with her.

Of course, it was mostly him talking, with Ember Vance occasionally sending him a signal, or not responding at all.

After a full hour had passed without much progress, Yusuf Zuck knew that Ember Vance’s consciousness was still there; she hadn’t truly died.

As long as she wasn’t dead, he was determined to pull her back from the brink.

Everest Zuck arrived in a hurry with the injured Jerome Hart and Faye Webb, and upon arrival, the Vance Family asked them to come to the hospital room. They didn’t know who Everest Zuck was, but when Jerome Hart introduced himself as David Hart’s grandson, Deputy Minister Ace Vance became very excited, hence they were invited into the hospital room.

The Vance Family also followed inside.

"What’s the situation?" Everest Zuck, after coming in, didn’t ask about the patient first but what was going on with Yusuf Zuck.

"There’s no brain activity, but the heart is still functioning, and there’s a pulse. She can’t breathe on her own, though. Just now, when I tried to call out to her with my telekinesis, she responded," Yusuf Zuck said, no longer caring if he exposed himself in front of others.

Besides, others might not understand his reference to telekinesis, because only Everest Zuck knew that Yusuf Zuck had the ability to control objects with his mind.

"Let me have a look. Bring me the CT scans of her brain, the doctors’ diagnoses," Everest Zuck said to the Vance Family.

"Here they are." Ember Vance’s mother immediately handed over many medical records.

Everest Zuck looked through them one by one and then, with a serious frown, said, "Medically speaking, brain death is more severe than a vegetative state, because a person in a vegetative state can still breathe independently."

Using his telekinesis, Yusuf Zuck saw the energy flow into Ember Vance’s head, then slowly enveloped the injured area with a warm sensation.

Since Everest Zuck didn’t have telekinesis, he couldn’t see inside the head. Once his energy entered, he withdrew his finger and also bit it, then wrote a character on Ember Vance’s forehead.

Yusuf Zuck didn’t recognize the character, which looked like ghost drawing symbols, but as soon as it appeared, Yusuf Zuck felt a powerful mental fluctuation rapidly spreading deep into Ember Vance’s mind before vanishing.

Two wounds were from a knife, and the most severe was a gunshot wound to the head at close range. Afterward, that car fled, and since it didn’t have a license plate, it’s hard to track."

"So, it was premeditated murder?" Yusuf Zuck said solemnly.

"Yes, deliberate homicide," Director Long nodded.

"I’ve got it," Yusuf Zuck said no more and turned to leave.

Everest Zuck and others, including Miles O’brien and Samuel Ross, immediately followed him and swarmed out.

After they went downstairs, Yusuf Zuck said to Everest Zuck, "After Mr. Liu has seen her tonight, we’ll go to Mount Wutai. You book the flight tickets. Everyone else can disperse. Also, everyone be careful these days!" Yusuf Zuck looked at Miles O’brien and said, "Louise, you shouldn’t go to the shop for the next few days. Samuel Ross, Xiao Feng, keep yourselves safe and try your best to protect your sister-in-law too!"

"Got it," everyone nodded. The incident was only days away from their group being attacked—could it be a continuation of the previous case?

Yusuf Zuck got into the car and drove off into the distance. At the same time, he called Fleur Carson, "Lucy Clayton’s exact location."
