Chapter 99: Bad Start At A New Life
After getting betrayed by everyone, Sofia was completely broken. That very day, she left with a promise never to return.
Away from Cloudbridge.
Away from New Wiston.
"I’ll live on my own and start a new life, and when things go well, I’ll have my revenge. Mia will be first. That witch who calls herself my mother won’t escape it either... Royce will pay ten times over for what he did to me..."
"And for Jayden... I will definitely be richer than him one day, and I’ll make him beg to have me back!"
Those were the thoughts she had in mind before storming out of her house with a taxi, taking a direct flight to NorthVille, the best place to pursue one’s career.
Although she knew she’d be missing her final exams and not getting her degree, which might make success harder, she was still confident.
These days, it was beginning to look like people don’t need certificates to become rich.
For instance, take Jayden Cole as an example.
He was already a multimillionaire without completing Business School, which made it clear that anyone else could achieve what he had achieved.
Perhaps it only takes luck and effort, and at this point, Sofia was down to do anything that would guarantee her revenge.
{Account Balance: $460}
After securing a flight to NorthVille, it became clear she would be running out of funds soon. She figured maybe she’d have to find a job to start with, or else she might not survive.
Upon reaching NorthVille, she booked a hostel to stay in for a week since she couldn’t just get a house easily.
That way, she gave herself some time to find a job, but things quickly went wrong.
Sofia tried many jobs, applying and even noting that she was a five-year student at one of the best Business Universities in the world — Sky High University. It was widely known in the country, yet it felt like she was painted in bad luck.
It was as if all her efforts had done little to nothing, and soon, she was already giving up.
{Account Balance: $12}
All the expenses had rendered her broke before she could even realize it, and now she was on the brink of starving to death.
After three weeks, there was no hope left in her efforts to start a new life... she was clearly still clinging to the old.
She was completely down, hopeless, and frustrated.
She thought maybe she should just end it. Perhaps this was how her miserable life was meant to end.
At some point, she also felt like she should hold on to hope, even if she wasn’t feeling any.
However, things only got worse.
Sofia was starving, with no resources to care for herself. After the lodging fee expired, she was sent away, left to live on the streets, something she couldn’t believe was happening.
But it was.
The once-beautiful princess Sofia was now a stranded homeless girl on the street, almost unrecognizable.
Then one day, she decided to end it all.
She couldn’t bear it anymore. It was too much for her.
Maybe ending her life would be better, right?
She settled on a bridge one morning, staring down into the deep blue waters. It was a large lagoon, one that could easily draw someone to their death if they went too deep.
She wasn’t even nervous. She truly wanted to go.
With one last step to the edge of the bridge, she closed her eyes and leaned forward, unnoticed by anyone.
’Maybe this is how it should end.’
With that, she jumped in, and in a moment, she was gone beneath the surface of the water... likely.
*******
After establishing the foundation of the empire, it was clear that The Core had done a great job, and Jayden had to give them their flowers.
They gathered for a feast in the grand dining room with The Dominus, all high-spirited as they enjoyed the moment.
They weren’t masked here, even though the cooks and maids could see their faces. This was because these workers had already sworn not to say a word about them and were being greatly paid.
Just a simple cook in The Dominus’s villa could earn more than an actual businessman in Cloudbridge City.
They dared not betray him... not when threats were also attached.
"I loved the way Gregory reacted to the purchase. He couldn’t believe his eyes," Charlotte said, her face sharp.
"Me too. He saw his fall with his very own eyes. Can’t imagine how helpless he’ll be when the final shot is fired," Harper said, rolling her eyes in anticipation.
"Well, I’m more excited about how the King and his pathetic son will react when they realize that Jay is actually The Dominus," Camilia said with a soft nod.
"Same goes for that bastard Royce. Now he thinks he’s a god on campus, ranting about having an alliance with the man who’s going to hunt him down. I’m really going to love it," Paula said, gritting her teeth slightly.
They were having these conversations before Jayden stepped in, and when he did, they had to switch the topic.
Not entirely because they didn’t want him to hear about it, but because they had to move on to the main purpose of the meeting.
A wonderful feast awaited, one so rich like never before. The Dominus and The Core were going to toast to the start of something massive, and then move on to real action.
Today was unlike every other day... Today, the ladies had figured out every possible way to make it convenient to spend the night there.
Perhaps Jayden was going to die, but he just hoped not all of them would be horny tonight, because he might not survive it.
That wasn’t a conclusion based on experience — it was based on estimation and common sense.
There was no way a man like him could handle six women in one night, and he wasn’t even thinking twice about that.
Maybe... just maybe, there could be turns.
After all, they were all his women.
