Chapter 95: Me Too

"We have surpassed the likes of Kings and other rival automobile companies in Cloudbridge. At this point, we are the third-best automobile company currently in the ranking after making a thousand sales of the Nova X across the country," Sabrina began her report.

Jayden nodded at that with a smile, knowing what it meant. "Pretty good."

"Yes, boss. We have made over ten billion dollars after all expenses were checked and confirmed by the General Accountant, just with the Nova X. And sure, some people have tried checking out the Vinta Lux and the Orion V."

Those reports hit hard in Jayden’s head, completely impressing him. Though he had been hearing about Zintech’s rise even when he was in Dominion Island, he didn’t expect it to have gone this far.

Making that much within two weeks was quite a lot, and now Jayden was no longer a millionaire, but a billionaire...

How crazy was that?

"The General Accountant requests to see you, sir."

Lynna’s secretary approached Jayden and Sabrina as they walked down the hallway and informed him. He quickly gave a casual nod.

"Sure, I’ll be there," he replied.

The secretary bowed slightly and left, while Jayden and Sabrina continued their discussion.

Jayden figured Lynna would only want to talk about the finances of the company, as the General Accountant that she was, but at one point he had understood that she was also in his harem, even though the system never urged him to add her to The Core.

Jayden came to realize that not all women he added to the harem could be in The Core. The Core members were special and had a purpose in The Dominus empire, unlike Lynna, who would only be useful in actual Jayden affairs.

Sabrina had to head to her office after having a long talk with her boss, and since he was leaving soon, he took it upon himself to meet Lynna in her office, knowing she was confident enough to have sent her secretary to fetch him.

Sabrina hadn’t been comfortable with Lynna in the first place, and the fact that she had acted this way today gave her nothing but a bad impression.

But somehow, Jayden wasn’t reacting the way she expected, just like he had done when she talked about Charlotte’s instability at work.

She just had to conclude that something fishy was going on, and she really wanted to know what it was.

When Jayden settled in Lynna’s office, she quickly rushed to hug him.

"I missed you," she said in a very cozy tone, like she didn’t even feel a bit of shame saying that to her daughter’s ex-boyfriend.

But Jayden never acted like he had such a thought at all, as he embraced her tightly like he was loving it.

"You were away for ten days. I tried calling, but it didn’t go through. I even visited your house three times. I thought something was wrong, and I’m glad you’re fine," Lynna said with a delighted tone.

"Yeah, I’m fine. Glad you’re okay too," Jayden said, squeezing his jaw.

"Do you mind if we go have lunch together? There’s this place about a mile away from here. You’re going to love the meals there," Lynna said.

At once, Jayden wanted to decline since he wanted to head to the real estate property he owned. However, Lynna was appearing to plead with that tone, and Jayden might as well feel bad refusing.

Just lunchtime... It’s actually fine, right?

After all, she was one of his ladies... Her affection was still intact.

"Lunch. That would be great," Jayden finally accepted, and they left.

The most interesting thing was that Sabrina happened to see them walking alongside each other, with Lynna holding Jayden’s hand.

That was when she had to believe that indeed, the boss was having an affair with the General Accountant.

"But she was the one who humiliated him the other day??? Are we sure she didn’t use a charm on boss???" Sabrina asked herself.

However...

Little did she know that the boss was actually the one using a charm on her—but it was still crazy how that was happening, to her.

...

They arrived at Orange Place, a simple restaurant where all kinds of meals were prepared. There was even a bar at the side, and a table tennis space where some men gathered.

Jayden nodded in amazement and walked in as she led him to a convenient place to sit.

The waiter appeared and brought the menu, and Lynna requested the same meal Jayden wanted: cheesy pasta with chicken and prawns.

It was something Jayden liked to eat for lunch, and Lynna had no problem eating that as well. She was clearly doing her best to win Jayden’s heart more, and he could sense it by the way she acted.

They were eating a moment later, and Lynna started a gist. Jayden was just trying to go with the flow and enjoy the meal, but he admired how Lynna had suddenly changed because of him.

He thought perhaps it was just because she was with him and would only be humble toward him, but at one point he didn’t even care.

There was one reason she was in the harem, and that was for business purposes. In fact, if there was anyone who should suffer for what Sofia had done, it should be Lynna.

There was no way she could escape it when Sofia wasn’t, right?

Just then, at the very point when Lynna pushed forward to try feeding Jayden a prawn, something crazy suddenly happened.

"Mom?"

Jayden was the first to spot Sofia, as Lynna was sitting with her back to her. He suddenly stared down and heaved a rough sigh.

’Guess the show is starting a little too early.’

Sofia had seen her mom smiling happily as she fed her ex-boyfriend, and she couldn’t even believe her eyes for a second.

Lynna flinched hard the moment she heard the familiar voice and turned around.

Sofia’s left eye let a tear drop, and she broke down at that very point. People watched, wondering what was happening...

"What... What..." Sofia wanted to speak but couldn’t even find the words.

She was completely broken and would even be glad if someone just stepped over and ended her life.

It was clear... Lynna was having an affair with Jayden, whom she had been pressuring Sofia to go back to.

Her mother was the last person she expected to betray her...

First, it was her boyfriend, then her best friend...

Now it was her own mother.

How cruel had life been to her?

Just because she left Jayden?

Was that why all this was happening to her?

She didn’t even wait another moment, giving Jayden and her mother a final look before rushing out of the restaurant... Everyone could clearly hear her sobbing as she left. It was totally heartbreaking for many, but more like a drama for most.

Lynna stood frozen for a moment and then turned back to Jayden. Sure, her expression didn’t look the same as before, but she didn’t really seem like a real mother who had wronged her daughter badly...

"Is this the affection too?" Jayden couldn’t help but ask.

"I’m sorry, boss. I’ve been ill. I could barely even walk for three days. I promise it won’t happen again."

Harper stood in front of her boss and pleaded after being questioned for not coming to work and not leaving a notice.

As the soft-hearted person that she was, Melinda didn’t take it hard on her, since she knew it was the first time it happened.

"It’s okay. Now get to work. We have to sell all drinks today since we’ll be moving to the new shop tomorrow," Melinda said with a sharp tone.

Harper nodded. "Congratulations, boss. I’m really happy for your achievement," she said.

Melinda gave a wide grin. "Thanks, Harper. It’s all thanks to Jayden. I’ll never forget what he has done for me."

"Right, he’s such an amazing person," Harper responded with a soft laugh.

Then she went back to the counter.

She happened to notice George and Reece watching a video on Loopi when she showed up, leaving the new workers to attend to the customers outside.

"Hey, Harper. Come see!" George quickly called in excitement the moment he spotted her.

"Haven’t you heard about The Dominus and The Core? They’re trending everywhere. I love The Core. They’ve got some massive aura. Oh my gosh!"

Harper smiled casually. "Why not? I’ve heard about them. The six beautiful ladies of EC Consortium? They’re all lovely," she said.

She loved the fact that everyone was liking The Core, which she expected. But she once wished they knew she was one of those women they were idolizing.

At one point Reece even made it more interesting.

"I love that Trigger more. Look at the way she walks... So beautiful!"

Harper was slightly surprised... Reece actually used to tease her about having a big forehead and not even looking pretty.

But now he was admiring someone who looked entirely just like her?

With a chuckle, she only nodded.

"Me too."
