Chapter 92: Proud King
Amidst the stir caused by The Dominus not showing up, the introduction of The Core had sparked more chaos.
Six richly fashioned women, masked, with an aura that held a sense of absolute prominence.
They were termed the wives of The Dominus, and the ladies had no issues with that.
The opening ceremony went on after the short interview, as even the Governor of New Wiston was present to join the launch of the billion-dollar company.
It was a big day in Spring City, and even in New Wiston as a whole, as the news spread rapidly.
It was worldwide, in fact, and the world was already beginning to hear about The Dominus’s rise in Nortasia.
Camilia was literally seen as the leader of The Core, even though she never let it out with her mouth. She was always the one stepping out most to talk, and the crowd was beginning to admire her.
The other ladies were admired as well, for sure.
Later on that opening day, the ladies took care of the job appointments by appointing an assistant for each of their roles. With that, the assistants would take on the task of employing more workers, who would have to take a formal oath of serving the company with absolute loyalty.
In the end, Camilia delivered The Dominus’s message, revealing that he wouldn’t be showing himself to the world, at least not anytime soon, or maybe never.
But they were informed that he would always be the one in charge of the activities carried out by The Core and is surely the Chairman of EC Consortium.
At least, those words had made things a little bit clearer, and The Core was already getting a lot of attention from the people.
But that was that... To remain diplomatic, the ladies only did their jobs and left when they had to.
What was always left for the people to say were their names, which they revealed.
Frontline. Byta. Echo. Trix. Clave. Trigger.
They were names that came with an aura that was out of this world, and the media just couldn’t help but buzz around.
Almost all bloggers and content creators were talking about The Dominus and The Core, but well, in the end, they had no idea that this was just the beginning.
After quite a while, King Arthur had decided to make his move.
In fact, he was the very first person to propose a partnership deal with The Dominus, definitely because of the Megacity Project.
It took what felt like an eternity before he could even get to reach out to The Core, but when he finally did, Trix, the Chief Information Officer of EC Consortium, casually promised to deliver his message.
It turned out that he wasn’t literally addressed as the king that he was, but Arthur didn’t even dare to say a word about it, knowing fully well that The Dominus was five times richer than he was, and he would have to be on good terms with him to secure the deal.
After waiting for a response for three days, he finally got it.
On the secured phone call with the King, Trix calmly spoke:
"The Dominus has firmly stated that it was a good idea to come up with such a great plan for the country, and he is also honored to have gotten your proposal," she said.
King Arthur smiled as he heard that, judging that the message was going the very right way.
"However..."
That gave him an instant pause in his celebration.
"He stated that he would join the partnership but wouldn’t proceed with the agreement just yet. But rest assured, he is more interested than not, so it is most likely that The Dominus joins the Megacity Project. Have a wonderful day."
As the call ended, King Arthur still had that delighted look on his face. Although it subsided a little since he wanted the project to commence in no time, he was still glad.
After all, things would surely get better when The Dominus gets involved, and his funds would speed up the pace of the project.
That was indeed a huge relief for him because having to find other partners had been creating a nightmare.
While he was celebrating calmly in his room, Prince Kael stepped in.
"Father, the convoy is set. We have to head now."
"Ohh, give me a second, son," he said as he quickly stood up.
He was already dressed in gold senator-like attire, a wear worth millions to show off his royalty.
They both headed straight to the private jet, which soared towards Skyline City.
Today was the day the King would get to meet the woman his son would be marrying. After hearing all sorts of news about Camilia refusing to be with him, he was going to make things clear.
"The last time I met her, she almost punched me in the face when I wanted to touch her. She is quite a stubborn one, but I will deal with that. You just have to threaten her father more so he will keep pressuring her," Kael said.
"If I were you, I would have taken care of this disturbance of a thing. But it’s okay... We all know ladies with the Samson blood are hard pains in the butt. You can tell from her mother," Arthur said.
"What? I don’t even know her mother. Just heard of her. Did you?" Kael asked curiously.
"It’s nothing to talk about, but she could have been the one you call ’mother’ if not for her stubbornness," Arthur shook his head as he spoke.
Kael felt like he had more questions, but he had to let it slide since his father already said it was nothing to talk about.
When they finally reached Skyline City, they stepped out of the private jet.
There, Heston and his beautiful daughter were waiting for the King and the Prince to arrive.
Camilia stood alongside her father, watching them approach. She was surely having to cope with acting as both Frontline and Camilia, but in any case, all roles were still perfectly done—especially when acting under her rightful identity.
"Welcome, King Arthur. It’s an honor to have you here today," Heston greeted with a whole lot of respect, giving a strong smile.
Camilia had to do the same as well, but she could clearly notice the cold look from him.
Kael tried touching her waist, but she quickly gave him a harsh stare, which Arthur happened to notice.
And unfortunately, the welcoming scene took a turn.
"We have to be clear to ourselves, Mr. Heston. I’m not someone to joke with," Arthur began. "Your daughter seems to have shown that she is not interested in my son, the Prince. The only thing that can honor our deal with the Megacity Project."
Heston heaved a frustrated sigh at that point, clenching his fist.
"Uhh, King..."
"We have to be clear..."
Heston was suddenly interrupted.
"Are we going to honor the deal by marrying her to my son, or are we terminating it? It’s either she chooses to sustain the dignity of her family or chooses to marry that nobody called Jayden," Arthur spoke, his face stern.
Heston was rendered speechless for a moment there, as Kael felt on top of the world, seeing Camilia act like she was frustrated as well.
However, deep down, she had an entirely different reaction.
’Wish he knew the one who he’s calling a nobody is the one helping him with his sick Megacity Project,’ Camilia said inwardly, watching the proud king rant.
