Chapter 41: 2nd Shuttle, True Spirit Continent

"But even if someone has condensed a Cosmic Singularity Intent before, what about multiple? Hundreds? Thousands??" Jin continued to think along the lines of impossible.

Without the assistance of Against-Heaven’s Understanding, there was really no way even the most monstrous geniuses of the Ten Thousand Myriad Races could fully master hundreds of thousands of Intents.

Even Special Beings, born with unique and overpowered talents, were unlikely to comprehend so many Intents at Rank 2. And it had to be Rank 2, as Jin could instinctively tell that these Cosmic Singularity Intents could only be condensed at that Rank.

"Although I’m likely to reach the peak of Rank 2, with 100% merging between my Foundation Intents and my Dantian, I doubt I’ll take that step into Rank 3 for a very long while. After all, I strive for perfection—for the absolute epitome of every Major Rank."

Jin already possessed the combat power of someone in Rank 3 upon utilizing his strand of Cosmic Singularity Intent. Even so, he wanted more, for he felt there was more to grasp.

And until there was nothing left to grasp—to reach for—he’d continue mastering Intents.

’I do grow curious where the limits of this Rank lay,’ Jin thought to himself as he stared at the massive, incomprehensible door in his Dreamscape. This was the only way he could glimpse those limits in the shortest amount of main-world time possible.

Some time later, Jin left the virtual world, returning to his small mansion in the Lotus Lake housing area.

"Even with the backing of the Diamond Heart Family, that Jamie can’t possibly discover my true identity."

The Goddesses protected the identities of everyone wishing to keep themselves anonymous.

What was a mere Diamond Heart Family in the face of the Three Goddesses, whom even galaxy-ruling Star Lords had to upkeep appearances for?

"But that doesn’t mean he can’t do something to my Azmodeus persona in the Virtual World," Jin said solemnly. "If I want to avoid what is sure to be his petty revenge, I’ll need more power. And I’ll need it fast."

Enough hesitation.

It was time to use the Door to the Myriad Realms for the second time.

It was time to live another life!

...

True Spirit Continent.

Moon God Kingdom.

Royal Palace.

The loud screaming of an anguished woman could be heard throughout the vast halls of the palace. Maids and officials alike scrambled to their feet.

In one particular room, bedazzled in gold and jewels, a group of important-looking figures gathered around a bed. On that bed, an ashen woman lay; her breathing was haggard, and her appearance even more so. However, plastered across her beautifully worn-out face was a stunning smile that almost made one doubt whether she actually just experienced childbirth.

The cause of her happiness was the bright-eyed infant being swaddled in her arms.

"Your Majesty, it’s a boy! It’s a boy!!" A midwife excitedly exclaimed.

"A boy!?" A roguishly handsome man adorned in silk, and topped with a dazzling crown on his head, revealed a pleasantly surprised look.

To think there’d come a day when he, too, would have a male heir.

His family wouldn’t be leaving the line of succession now!

"To think that after more than thirteen daughters, a son would finally be born..." The King couldn’t believe it.

He loved and cared for his daughters, but without a son, there would be no legitimate heir. This meant that, before now, their family had been destined for ruin, with many eyes of the court and beyond already vying for the throne.

But with a son, everything would change for the better. f.re(e) w.e(b)nov el.c.om

"...My baby boy..." The mother of the infant, the Queen of the Moon God Kingdom, lovingly embraced the infant in her arms. Her big, gorgeous eyes were filled with affection; with just one look, it became clear that she was a very sweet and gentle woman.

"Tonight, we celebrate!" the King announced in high spirits.

"Someone go and fetch my daughters—"

THUD!

The room fell into silence when a group of remarkably beautiful, varyingly-aged girls pushed open a creaked door. Those girls fell onto each other, piling up in the middle of the room, each wearing a different expression when everyone’s eyes fell on them.

"Sorry, Lord Father..." the girls apologized.

They received an exasperated sigh from the King, who said, "You naughty rascals, actually daring to spy... Haiz..."

"Fufu, give them a break, Richard," the bedridden wife giggled, seemingly full of life even in spite of her terrible condition. "They just want to see their new brother."

"You... You’re too lenient on them, Isabella." King Richard shook his head.

Unlike most royal families on the True Spirit Continent, or in general, the Moonshire family was very united. Even Queen Isabella, who was only the mother of one of the princesses, treated them all as her own. The same could be said to stand true for King Richard’s other wives and consorts.

Very rarely did any enmity culminate between any of them.

"Come here, girls. You’d like to hold him, wouldn’t you?" Queen Isabella beckoned with a genuinely warm smile.

The eyes of the elegantly dressed princesses instantly brightened. They rushed over and smothered the infant with their affection.

"Thank you, 1st Mother!"

"Thank you, Mother!"

Most addressed Queen Isabella as 1st Mother, while only one—a 9-year-old girl with long curly red hair—called the Queen ’Mother’.

...

Later that night.

Following the celebratory festivities.

’So this is my life now,’ thought Jin, watching as numerous pretty maids diligently worked around him. His mother, the Queen, was too weak right now to properly take care of him, so these maids were the ones delegated with the task in her stead.

’Sole male heir to the Moonshire Royal Family. Excellent family. Body talent is... undetermined.’

Of everything, what Jin found the most intriguing about this world was something he overheard the palace staff whispering about. Although he wasn’t positive, there appeared to be... gods—or something like them—in this world.

Just like Huaxia, True Spirit Continent was the singular landmass of the world. This landmass was split up into a large number of territories, altogether spanning a distance of over thirty thousand miles.

And in these territories, there were kingdoms. These kingdoms, dubbed the fiefs of the gods, were each overseen by a ’god’.

For the Moon God Kingdom, it was the Moon God.

For, say... the Apocalypse God Kingdom, it was the Apocalypse God that watched over them.

To the people here, the gods were a belief system, but they were also their protection.

’As for what they’re protecting the citizens from... I’ll need to learn more.’

The current extent of his knowledge was limited to the words spoken by palace servants. He wasn’t even sure if what they were saying was the truth, so relying on them as a source of further information was unwise.

Fortunately, as the days flew by, Jin’s Rank 2 Against-Heaven’s Understanding helped him out tremendously in uncovering the truth.
