Chapter 958: Chapter 16 Blade Matriarch Bug and the New Teammate_2

Blood splattered everywhere, staining the vicinity. Due to the severe injuries, the invisibility became unstable, flickering on and off. Its forelimbs, turned into self-destructing blades, flipped the warrior over and prepared to flee.

With quick reflexes, Tang Zheng shot out his four Moon Blades and a crescent moon blade, hitting the Blade Matriarch Bug’s head. Despite its strong vitality, it didn’t die. Tang Zheng pounced forward, swinging his sword in a slashing motion.

With a squelch, a copious amount of blood sprayed from the neck as a head tumbled away.

Teng Yuangxiang was overjoyed, finding Tang Zheng’s action of flicking the blood droplets from his blade and sheathing his sword incredibly cool. Behind him lay the collapsed Blade Matriarch Bug.

"Two Golden Seeds? Seems like it’s just a mid-level BOSS," Tang Zheng picked up the seeds, gave a coup de grâce, shattering the bug’s head, and then tossed out the Bug Heart, letting it absorb the brain pulp.

"What’s this?" Teng Yuangxiang ran over, fixated on the seeds, feeling that the jade stone with a halo must be something valuable.

"Seeds." Tang Zheng did not elaborate further, after checking the Blade Matriarch Bug’s corpse, he left. Of course, he didn’t forsake the supplies on the corpses; after all, even a mosquito was meat no matter how small.

"Can you give me one?" Although Teng Yuangxiang didn’t know their use, she was certain it wouldn’t be a mistake to take them into her hands.

"That depends on your performance," Tang Zheng meant her combat ability, though the woman in the nightgown clearly misunderstood.

"Haven’t I been good enough?" Teng Yuangxiang gave Tang Zheng a white look, wrapped her arm around his, and deliberately pressed her chest onto him, soft to the touch.

Shi Jing became restless; such openly flirtatious behavior made her blush and her ears turn red.

Tang Zheng shook off her arm, reclaimed the Bug Heart, determined the direction, and continued onward, telling the two women to switch off their handheld radars, so it would only display one signal.

"Tsk, playing Mr. Nice Guy, what am I lacking?" Teng Yuangxiang said to herself as she fondled her chest and caught up with him.

Twenty minutes later, five red dots appeared on the radar. Tang Zheng immediately stopped. The opposition had evidently noticed them too, and likely due to the single red dot, they confidently pursued.

"Hide." Tang Zheng set up several bomb traps and then retreated into the Beehive Cabin. The Nepalese Detection Spiders were effective, allowing him to see everything in the passage clearly.

The sound of frantic footsteps grew louder, and after a few minutes, Tang Zheng saw five Chinese men, to his surprise. He glanced at the radar again; red dots meant enemies.

"That’s not right, it seems that anyone who’s not in one’s own team appears red," Tang Zheng noticed two men among them with whom he had crossed paths before and hesitated.

"Hurry, don’t let them escape." Lin Chen yelled, fearing the quarry would get away. To him, the lone figure was a big fat fish.

"Slow down, watch out for traps," Zeng Fanghai was constantly observing his surroundings, very cautious. Although they were all pursuing Su Ameng, they still took care of each other during combat.

"It’s just one guy, what’s there to fear?" Lin Chen, with his Light Defense Shield, was not concerned about these risks.

"Nonsense, if there’s only one person left alive on the other side, it means he’s either extremely lucky or a very strong opponent," Zeng Fanghai’s words stopped Lin Chen in his tracks, no longer daring to pursue.

"Why didn’t you say so earlier?" Lin Chen was scared stiff, the young man’s brain seemingly short-circuited.

"Did you ever ask me?" Zeng Fanghai shot him a glance, then gave a meaningful look, suggesting they use the three newbies as scouts.

"Isn’t that a bit inhumane?" Lin Chen hesitated, but still aimed his gun at the three newbies panting heavily with hands on their knees, "You guys, keep running."

The three newbies turned pale with fear and wanted to refuse.

"We protect you from getting eaten by bugs, you’ve got to take some real actions too, right? Who wants to save worthless lives?" Zeng Fanghai refused to be clement, "If you don’t agree, then get lost on your own."

The three newbies hesitated; they had seen the ferocity of the Camel Bugs themselves. If they left the group, they would surely die, whereas going forward as scouts, they might only possibly die.

Zeng Fanghai didn’t mind giving the newbies a hand, but if they chose to leave, they would be selfish enemies and he would use them as cannon fodder.

"That guy stopped? Isn’t he waiting for us?" Lin Chen glanced at the radar, not wanting to wait any longer. He sent the three newbies ahead without any remorse; this was the inevitable choice under the law of the jungle.

"Come out, or I’ll start shooting." Upon entering the Beehive Cabin, Lin Chen turned towards where the red dot was hiding and pulled an AT-4 rocket launcher onto his shoulder from his Space Backpack.

"Just average," Tang Zheng abandoned the idea of killing them, considering they were acquaintances, and they might be able to cooperate temporarily, after all, he needed some cannon fodder too.

"It’s you?" Zeng Fanghai was taken aback when he saw Tang Zheng step out, but he didn’t fire. Lin Chen, on the other hand, aimed at him nervously, remembering the man’s strength from their encounter over ten days ago.

Tang Zheng remained silent, assessing them. The three newbies looked miserable, one of them, a young man with earrings, had a flickering gaze as if contemplating something.

"Did you intentionally lure us here?" Zeng Fanghai saw Tang Zheng holding a B-Class AK74M, very wary of him, then suggested, "This is a team battle, should we cooperate temporarily? We saw Korean corpses on the way here."

Lin Chen was unhappy with his companion’s show of weakness.

"Idiot, if we fight, we are sure to be the ones who die," Zeng Fanghai felt Lin Chen was foolish and could get him killed sooner or later.
