Chapter 959: Chapter 16 Blade Matriarch Bug and the New Teammate_3

"Sure, and I’ve just killed a few Nepalese," Tang Zheng said, waiting for the other party to speak up. If they didn’t catch the hint, then sorry, but he would have to suppress them with violence.

"Worthy of being a Group Leader among the Conquerors, impressive," Zeng Fanghai praised, hoping to share in Tang Zheng’s intel, "What should we do next? We’ve been wandering around here for more than a day and still haven’t found a way out."

Zeng Fanghai didn’t expect a definitive answer; he was merely making conversation. Nonetheless, he ended up with an unexpected gain.

"I know the way," Tang Zheng said casually, drawing the attention of several people, "Come on out."

"Quick, tell us, which way?" Lin Chen couldn’t wait to leave this hellhole. Zeng Fanghai looked around, and his heart skipped a beat when two women appeared. He felt immensely relieved, thinking that if they had fought earlier, his side would have been wiped out. Look at them, they had an ambush ready.

"Just follow me," said Tang Zheng, who had no intention of educating them. He took out three bottles of water and handed them to the three miserable newbies, "Drink up!"

"Thank you," the three newbies thanked him. After more than a day of hardships, they had learned to be polite. They had no choice but to bow their heads under someone else’s roof; the inattentive ones were already dead.

"Hey, don’t leave us hanging," Lin Chen said, seeing Tang Zheng about to depart and reaching to grab his arm.

Zeng Fanghai noticed Tang Zheng’s intention to recruit the newbies and felt unable to prevent it. Who could blame them when he hadn’t treated them well himself? However, his focus quickly shifted to the space wristwatch; such a handy gadget.

"Hey, watch your attitude," Teng Yuangxiang glared at Lin Chen, standing up for Tang Zheng.

"A newbie getting cocky?" Lin Chen got annoyed and swung his hand to hit him but was stopped by Zeng Fanghai.

"Even when striking a dog, one should consider its owner," Zeng Fanghai said.

"Hmph!" Teng Yuangxiang knew when to stop and hurried after Tang Zheng.

The three newbies, now with a new option, naturally abandoned Lin Chen, who had treated them poorly.

"Damn it, what’s going on here?" Lin Chen was frustrated; the other party had gained the upper hand with just one encounter.

"Keep a steady mind, or you’ll die very quickly," Zeng Fanghai warned and followed them.

As the squad’s numbers increased, so did the noise they made while moving. Fortunately, Zeng Fanghai and Lin Chen were quite capable and effortlessly annihilated three waves of bugs.

As time ticked away, and seeing they were still wandering through the beehive cabin and passages, Lin Chen grew impatient and questioned Tang Zheng.

"Are you really sure you know the way?"

"Nonsense, even if I didn’t, it’s still better than blindly following you," Teng Yuangxiang retorted immediately. She wouldn’t pass up a chance to improve her standing.

"Pff, who are you kidding?" Lin Chen scoffed dismissively, took out a bottle of water, drank a few sips, and splashed the rest on his face, then started eating chocolate. As for those newbies, let them die for all he cared—except for the beauty, "Hey, want a piece?"

"No thanks, I’ve already eaten," Teng Yuangxiang declined. Zeng Fanghai almost died laughing, patted his companion’s back, and lowered his voice, "Just accept it, follow him. Didn’t you notice it’s much safer now? Those three newbies just had a full meal and voluntarily went on recon. Plus, I’ve thought it over, we haven’t retraced our steps, we should be able to get out soon."

"What good is your thinking? The most useless are those who are all talk!" Lin Chen picked his ear and spat.

"Ignorant. I studied architecture, okay? I can conceptualize space," Zeng Fanghai started another verbal fight with Lin Chen. Following an outstanding Group Leader indeed saved the group members a lot of effort.

"Stop, gunshots," Tang Zheng suddenly warned, the relaxed atmosphere vanished and everyone instinctively crouched down.

"It’s a green dot, it might be allies." Zeng Fanghai readied his handheld radar, waiting for Tang Zheng’s decision.

"Let’s go support them." Tang Zheng rushed ahead of the three newbies, taking the lead. With a map in hand, what was a maze to survivors became like a naked woman before him—fully revealed.

In just two minutes, Tang Zheng arrived at the battlefield, where he saw Mr. Qian’s Bomber and a male newbie running frantically into the passage, followed by Xu Biyun, who was shooting and retreating. Up to now, their squad had already lost three newbies.

"Save us," the Bomber pleaded, delighted to see Tang Zheng, and broke into a more desperate run.

"Trash." To think a girl was covering the rear, Tang Zheng became furious, threw a punch, and knocked the Bomber’s face down, flipping him over. The other man was so frightened he clutched his head and leaned against the wall.

"Group Leader!" Xu Biyun’s expression relaxed upon seeing Tang Zheng, suddenly feeling a sense of safety.

Zeng Fanghai and Lin Chen caught up, and they weren’t slacking, both opening fire.

"Group Leader, you’re really demoralizing. The bugs you took down with a crappy AK74M almost match my tally with a Thunderstorm rifle. How can I live with that?" Lin Chen teased Tang Zheng, full of envy—he knew he wasn’t as capable. If he had a B-Class firearm, he definitely wouldn’t have been able to hold back these bugs.

"Yuanxiang, you’re alive?" the Bomber saw Teng Yuangxiang, his face breaking into wild joy, disregarding the blood in his mouth, he ran towards her.

"Stop, stay away from me," Teng Yuangxiang frowned, wondering why she had to run into this deadbeat.

"Don’t be afraid, I’ll protect you," the Bomber didn’t listen and attempted to embrace her.

Teng Yuangxiang grew angry, swung her rifle, and smacked him on the head, almost shattering the Bomber’s teeth.

"Have you gone mad? I’m Han Ze!" The Bomber looked aggrieved, still not giving up, "Yuanxiang, I don’t mind your past, we can start over without Mr. Qian."

"I don’t care who you are?" Teng Yuangxiang had long despised this man. She swung her rifle butt again, making her stance clear. She had finally left an impression in Tang Zheng’s mind and didn’t want to ruin it now.

Han Ze wanted to fight back but couldn’t bring himself to; he was agonizingly caught in a dilemma and could only dodge.

"What a cold-hearted woman," Lin Chen whistled, watching the former lovers squabble while having the free time to do so, as Xu Biyun from the Powerful Party had no trouble taking out these bugs.
