Chapter 763: Chapter 26: High School Student Tour Guide

By noon, the scorching sun made it seem like Tokyo was being steamed in a pot. Without electricity, there were no cooling devices, and citizens were drenched in sweat, as though they were about to melt away.

"Are you hungry?" Tang Zheng, in tow with Cheng Cheng, was hunting between two patrol districts; most of the people they came across were young. They seemed to be unaffected by the power outage, even enjoying the city without electricity all the more.

"Not hungry." Cheng Cheng shook her head, not wanting to trouble Tang Zheng, but her gaze was inadvertently drawn to a sushi restaurant, denoted by a floating tuna balloon, just as her stomach started to rumble.

The little girl’s cheek instantly turned red.

"Let’s go eat sushi." Upon entering the sushi shop, Tang Zheng noticed it was filled to brim, and a wave of heat washed over him.

"Why are there so many people?" Three schoolgirls dressed in Fushima-oka uniforms walked in and couldn’t help but frown.

"I apologize, but the refrigerator isn’t working, and we aren’t able to preserve the ingredients, thus we’re offering a discount. I didn’t expect so many people would show up." The kindly owner, donning a chef’s hat, apologized while preparing sushi.

Looking overjoyed and curious, Cheng Cheng was scanning her surroundings. Tang Zheng escorted her to a vacant seat, determined not to shatter the little Lolita’s happiness.

"What would you like to eat?" Tang Zheng passed the menu to Cheng Cheng. He was unfamiliar with sushi and didn’t know what to order.

Cheng Cheng looked a little flustered and kept fumbling.

A female waitress in a uniform came over and started introducing the types of sushi. Because of the scorching heat, her yellow shirt was completely soaked through, almost see-through, revealing the traces of her underwear and a large sweat stain on her thighs.

"No need for the hassle, we’ll have one of each." Tang Zheng wanted Cheng Cheng to eat well. He wasn’t short of cash- he had stolen quite a bit the night before.

Upon hearing Tang Zheng’s words, surrounding customers turned to look at him, sizing him up and down.

"Just a moment." The waitress didn’t have to worry about the ingredients spoiling anymore, but out of kindness, she reminded Tang Zheng that he wouldn’t be able to finish all the sushi.

"No problem." Having dismissed the enthusiastic waitress, Tang Zheng took out a notebook and began sketching the terrain of the hunting zone, noting the key points. "Keep an eye on the Gas Station where we can prepare some incendiary bottles in advance. The aquarium and Central Library District seem to be of no use at the moment, we can rule them out as escape routes for the time being. Then there’s Higashi Ikebukuro Police Station..."

The three Fushima-oka uniformed schoolgirls who had just entered the shop exchanged glances before sitting next to Tang Zheng with their school bags.

"Are you an international student? Studying Art?" The schoolgirl with the long hair sat down next to him with an overly familiar smile and rested her hand on Tang Zheng’s arm, peering at his notebook.

"You can’t eat all of this by yourself. Why don’t you treat us? Otherwise, it’s going to be a waste." The short-haired schoolgirl on his other side took out a mirror and adjusted her fringe as she said, "We won’t freeload. We can give you a tour of Ikebukuro later."

Aside from the long-haired schoolgirl, the other two schoolgirls would occasionally accompany handsome men they liked for a night to make some money. They didn’t object to this lifestyle, and seeing Tang Zheng, they couldn’t resist making their move.

"LUCKY, handsome, young, and wealthy, generous too. If we’re lucky, we might make enough to cover our allowance for the next several months." Seeing Tang Zheng, the three schoolgirls deemed themselves lucky. It was all thanks to the power outage and early dismissal from school; otherwise, they would have missed out on this opportunity.

The long-haired girl had been persuaded by her friends to try it out and Tang Zheng was chosen as her first target.

The girl to Tang Zheng’s left immediately launched an offensive, resting her hand on his thigh, asking him about the drawing, while the girl on the right began introducing all the fun places in Ikebukuro.

"Could you please leave?" Tang Zheng stopped his pen and removed the girl’s hand from his thigh. These three girls were average-looking, youthful and highly attractive in their summer uniforms, and they emitted a rather strong allure.

"We’re second-year high schoolers, you know. Shouldn’t you be more friendly to underclassmen?" The schoolgirl pouted and pretended to be upset with Tang Zheng, attempting to play cute.

Tang Zheng looked up to see the girl across from him watching him with a smile.

"If you like, you can have all three of us. We won’t ask for money." The schoolgirls were playing hard-to-get. They had set their sights on getting through this meal successfully first.

"Go away!" Tang Zheng’s face darkened.

"Hey, hey, aren’t you being cold? It hurts our pride, you know." The fawning schoolgirl wrapped herself around Tang Zheng’s arm, "Look, the sushi is here- it’s the pirate noodle roll, my favorite!"

"Sir, here’s your sushi." The waitress brought over Tang Zheng’s order and when she saw the three schoolgirls sitting next to him, she was irritated. She guessed what they were up to and muttered to herself, "These students are so degenerate. They think earning money through part-time jobs is too hard and only care about indulging themselves."

"You can eat, but move aside. Don’t disturb me." Tang Zheng noticed Cheng Cheng keeping quiet due to the presence of the three schoolgirls and was slightly vexed, hence his stern tone.

"Are you the one paying?" The short-haired girl couldn’t help but ask, only to be glared at by her companions.

"Silly you, Brother wouldn’t be stingy. Right?" The long-haired girl was clearly experienced in appeasing men and started acting coquettishly around Tang Zheng.

"Let’s move to the side! Order anything you like within the range of one hundred thousand yen." Tang Zheng pointed to the nearby seats with his index finger.

"Our brother is so wonderful." The long-haired girl tried to kiss Tang Zheng but her advances were stopped by his outstretched palm.

"Come on, eat without fear." Tang Zheng comforted Cheng Cheng while considering asking those three female students to be his tour guides, given their familiarity with Ikebukuro.

"He’s such a gentleman." The ponytailed girl was curious. Do such men still exist these days?

"He isn’t a lolicon, is he?"

"No way, look at those gentle eyes. I wish I had a brother who cares about me like that." The long-haired girl was smitten with Tang Zheng, "I want to pursue him. Why can’t I just serendipitously stumble upon someone like him? He might’ve misconstrued me as a bad girl, though."

The long-haired girl held her cheek in her hand, oscillating between hope and despair. The other two seemed disheartened as well. However, talking about this was something they would only dare do in secret, not letting anyone else know.

"Have you had your fill? Let’s get going." Upon seeing Cheng Cheng’s nod, Tang Zheng paid the bill and left.

"He’s leaving, let’s follow quickly." The short-haired girl, who had been keenly observing Tang Zheng, instantly nudged her companions as she saw him leave the sushi shop.

"My book bag." The long-haired girl grabbed her book bag and gave chase.

"Eh? Are we not eating anymore?" The ponytailed girl was a little frustrated, but she still followed. This afternoon, they would be spending with him.

As predicted by Tang Zheng, the three high school girls quickly caught up with him and started socially engaging with him, not at all tired of trailing him for the entire afternoon.

"Your backpack is so big, what’s in it?" The short-haired girl asked curiously, then she hugged Tang Zheng’s arm, rubbing her chest against him.

"Brother, I bought a map." The ponytailed girl came back panting and sweating with a map in hand.

After receiving it, Tang Zheng quickly memorized the geographical layout of the area.

"Brother, here’s your change." As she handed over the change, the ponytailed girl regretted parting with nearly ten thousand Japanese yen.

"Keep it." Tang Zheng didn’t pay it any mind.

"It’s so hot, brother. Look at me, I’m all sweaty. I really want to take a shower." The ponytailed girl deliberately hooked her collar with her finger, tucking and pulling at her clothes to reveal glimpses of her pale skin.

"Should we find a motel for a shower?" The short-haired girl suggested at the right time, intending to bring Tang Zheng into the motel. Simply wandering around the streets was pointless.

"Alright, you should go home. It’s already getting late." Tang Zheng gave them fifty thousand yen - his guide fee.

Clearly unsatisfied with just this amount, the three schoolgirls didn’t leave.

"Aren’t you worried about what your parents will think?" Being seen with three high school girls late at night without getting questioned by the police would be extremely odd.

The three girls shook their heads simultaneously.

"Don’t worry, we won’t trouble you. Where are we going next?" The short-haired girl changed the topic and took Tang Zheng away.

"Gas Station." Tang Zheng planned to prepare a Molotov cocktail and also buy a second-hand car. Continual thievery would definitely draw the police’s attention.

Though the three girls were puzzled, they didn’t refute. After all, they made one hundred thousand yen just by accompanying Tang Zheng and they wished to earn more.

After a ten-minutes’ walk, they reached the gas station. Tang Zheng bought ten barrels of gasoline. As for the bottles for the gasoline, beer bottles would suffice. The three girls could also be used as labor.

The three girls aimlessly waited for Tang Zheng to complete the transaction when they heard a thunderous roar of engines. Looking towards the source of the noise, they noticed the muddy beam of light from the motorcycle headlights illuminating the street.

"It’s the street racing gang." The short-haired girl, stepping on her toes out of curiosity, had never seen these people before.

"What’s there to see? It’s just a group of crude, savage thugs. Oh no, we have to run, that’s the infamous Wild Wolves of Ikebukuro." The ponytailed girl recognized the wolf emblem on the gang’s uniforms and hurried her friends to leave. These ruffians were feared for harassing pedestrians and clashing with the police. Now, amidst the massive power outage, they were enjoying themselves more than ever.

But it was too late. Three heavy motorcycles had already rushed into the gas station, blocking their escape route. Then, other motorcycles joined in, circling around the gas station, the whole place was resonating with the deafening roar of their engines.

Without any hesitation, this gang didn’t intend to pay for the gas. They began to fuel their motorcycles while making a ruckus and smashing things around with baseball bats.
