Chapter 292: Chapter 39 Team Annihilation
Tang Zheng wanted to risk serious injury and enter seed explosion state again, but he couldn’t find that feeling. The numerical advantage was lost after Victor summoned five servants. If it weren’t for the fact that his warriors were highly resistant, the situation would indeed be precarious.
"Going on like this is not a solution, I’ll be the bait for a feint attack." Qin Yan didn’t give Tang Zheng a chance to object, and directly jumped out from behind the flower bench, shooting and running as she did so.
Victor’s attention was indeed attracted, Tang Zheng waited for three seconds before also darting out, commanding his warrior to abandon defense and focus on attacking Victor, forcing him to flee and preventing him from calmly shooting.
The thunderstorm rifle fired at the weed-ridden green lawn creating dents and scattering dirt everywhere. All the flower pots were shattered.
The besieged warrior activated his ultimate ability. He smashed his warhammer against the ground, after the shockwave staggered the summoned servants, he threw his hammer at Victor. The chain, tightly wrapped around the warrior’s arm, fully extended with a clatter. The servant acting as meat shield was directly hit, his body caved in, bending into a weird arc. The warrior gave the chain a twitch and a sweep, like the ebb and flow of the tide, the hammer bounced off the ground and swung out horizontally.
Seeing the chain whistling past with a whooshing sound, Tang Zheng crouched and ducked quickly. He would really lose face if he was taken out by his own warrior. Victor was also within the attack range and had to dodge.
The chain, carrying momentum, entangled one of the servants. When the warrior pulled it back, he lunged forward and punched the servant in the chest.
With a crash, the upper body of the servant, which was made up of mud and rocks, disintegrated. The lower half was thrown at Victor, who was tripped up by the uneven grass underfoot and fell to the ground.
Several Thunderballs from Tang Zheng hit Victor while also blocking his escape route. Tang Zheng also darted in, finally getting close. This guy was always dodging, obviously, hand-to-hand combat was his weakness.
Victor propped himself up with one hand. Just as he pointed his Thunderstorm rifle at Tang Zheng and pulled the trigger, Tang Zheng’s Thunderstorm swung out, knocking the barrel off course. A Thunderball grazed past Tang Zheng’s head and shot out. Victor tilted his head, avoiding Tang Zheng’s shot. Then, with a forceful pump of the arm, the Thunderstorm crashed back down again. His left hand touched the dagger hilt on his thigh, and he grasped a large serrated knife, stabbing it towards Tang Zheng’s neck.
Tang Zheng arched his back and bent over. The blade barely missed his throat. He then spun around, his right leg swinging like a whip onto Victor’s forehead, knocking him off balance and leaving him dizzy. The attack was not over yet. Following the spin with inertia, his left leg came down like a battle axe directly onto Victor’s neck.
With a thud, Victor’s head hit the ground, biting into a mouthful of mud and weeds. Just as he raised his head, Tang Zheng’s large foot was once again aimed at his face, and several large teeth were immediately spit out with blood.
Even though Tang Zheng was missing a limb and thus had fewer means to defend himself, he was still suppressing Victor. He kicked Victor around like a ragged piece of cloth swaying in the wind, occasionally pulling the trigger to shoot him.
Without his protective clothing, Victor would have fainted from this round of attack. However, right now he still could counterattack, and the wounds on Tang Zheng’s body had burst open again, with blood soaking through the bandages.
"I’m going to butcher you." Victor was furious. Because he lost a tooth, his speech was leaking air and he looked incredibly funny.
With a bang, Tang Zheng’s retort was to swing his Thunderstorm rifle at Victor’s temple, nearly bursting his eyeball.
"This guy only has one hand!" Seeing that Victor had no chance to shoot, Tang Zheng, who was holding his Thunderstorm, was actually a burden. Victor himself also couldn’t use it as a club, so he decisively gave up and tried to use his two-armed advantage. After a few seconds, he seized the opportunity, grabbing Tang Zheng’s wrist and lashing out with the knife in his right hand.
"Idiot." Tang Zheng’s body suddenly fell backwards, his right leg kicking upwards, landing a blow on Victor’s chin. The latter immediately flew into the air like a kite with a broken string, and with a crack, his jawbone shattered.
Victor’s knife was good, it could cut through Tang Zheng’s protective clothing. However, the attack stopped there. Tang Zheng pulled out his bronze sword and with a push of his feet, lunged forward, stabbing at Victor’s neck. He was just about to use his Blink Card when he felt a cold touch on his neck, his heart pumping as blood sprayed out.
Seeing Victor being kicked away, Qin Yan, who had been aiming for a long time, finally found an opportunity to attack. She pulled the trigger and the Thunderball she fired turned Victor’s head into a lump of flesh.
Upon the death of their master, the five summoned servants suddenly halted in their movements, dissipating in streaks of light. The warrior also left the battlefield, Tang Zheng’s body was nearing its limit, he couldn’t hold on any longer.
"Again, I have to die this time." Tang Zheng lay on the ground, coughing up another mouthful of blood. He urged, "It’s a Space Wristwatch, take it off quickly."
"The noise in the lobby has decreased a lot, it’s over, isn’t it?" Qin Yan was already quite proficient at checking corpses, but Tang Zheng thought she was not thorough enough.
"Strip him, don’t be polite, who knows if he has a seed hidden in his underwear." Tang Zheng threw the bronze sword to Qin Yan, asking her to use it to cut clothes. As for Yin Shangwu’s life or death, he was helpless.
"Strip yourself." Qin Yan, with red cheeks, was kind enough to leave Victor a pair of underwear during the search. She used a dagger for the search making it inevitable to scratch the corpse, so it was yet another abuse for him.
"I never knew you had a fetish for corpsing." Tang Zheng tossed back the wristwatch Qin Yan threw over, "As I said before, you can keep the next one."
"Annoying." Qin Yan gave Tang Zheng a look, her heart filled with sweetness.
The two wished to slack off, but the enemy didn’t let them, perhaps it was Yang Shangwu’s high profile provocation that caused a newbie from the Vodka team to escape from court, run towards the backyard and they happened to bump into him.
"You’re asking to die." Tang Zheng had not made a move, but Qin Yan fired and blasted his upper body into meat debris. Seeing the only remaining pair of legs on the ground, everyone was calm, even Lu Fan, who crawled out of the underground tunnel to find them, didn’t flinch.
"Uncle, are you hurt again?" Lu Fan dashed over with his short legs and pulled his collar. He planned to drag him into the secret tunnel, "Let’s hide now. She’s fighting fiercely and I literally just saw her leg broken."
"Huh? Let’s back her up." Tang Zheng couldn’t sit anymore and managed to stand up with great difficulty. Yang Shangwu was fighting to this extent, it was presumed that the other team was about to perish.
"That woman can handle it alone. We shouldn’t add any more chaos." Pang Meiqin didn’t dare to stay alone. She came out with Lu Fan with an unhappy look on her face. After seeing that Qin Yan had received a Space Wristwatch, she was even more frustrated.
But by the time the four walked into the devastated lobby that resembled a post-earthquake scene, the battle was over. A body was suppressed by the fractured stairs while another two were cut into pieces and scattered on the floor. Blood was everywhere, the only survivor was a newbie who had lost both legs and was crawling towards the main entrance, leaving behind a trail of blood.
Yang Shangwu’s condition wasn’t pretty, either. She lay on the floor with her left leg broken and a kidney shot away. You could see her internal organs through the hole in her waist, but she didn’t heal herself. Instead, she took out a group photo and stared at it while soaking in a pool of blood, a satisfied smile gradually spreading across her face.
"Crazy woman." complained Pang Meiqin, lifting her gun to kill the survivor, but was stopped by Tang Zheng.
"You guys take care of Yang Shangwu, don’t let her die. I’ve got some questions to ask." Tang Zheng instructed before walking over to the newbie and spoke a string of Russian, "If you want to ease your pain, answer my questions honestly."
The newbie, already on the verge of collapse from the impending death, payed no attention to Tang Zheng’s words. He kept crawling towards the main entrance until he gave his last breath.
"Damn it." Tang Zheng checked the corpse and returned to Yang Shangwu’s side and sat down," They are from the Vodka team, right? You killed all nine survivors, are you satisfied now?"
"Too bad. Revenge isn’t satisfying enough for me. One person left with ten thousand points. Some died in the game. If I didn’t finish them off myself, it always felt something was amiss..." Yang Shangwu coughed up blood. It was due to Qin Yan giving her emergency medicine and the fact that her physical condition was nearly ten times that of an ordinary person that she could last another hour or two. However, she wouldn’t be able to teleport back to her room to heal herself then, so she’d still die, "Want to ask something? I’m on the verge of dying, so I see no need for concealment."
"Meeting the Superhuman Heroes team and the Vodka team at once, did you arrange for that?" Tang Zheng pulled open the zipper of his protective clothing. The blood trapped inside immediately flowed out.
Seeing his bandages stained red, Lu Fan cried out again, hurriedly took out ointment and bandages from his backpack, and helped him treat the wound.
"It costs ten thousand points, then you can pinpoint one team for a team battle in the same game." Yang Shangwu laughed, "To drag them into this and get rid of them, I collected points for nine full games."
"So you spent twenty thousand points?" Pang Meiqin shrieked and asked a question, "Why didn’t you leave this game?"
"To avenge your teammates?" Qin Yan, however, was infuriated. She grabbed Yang Shangwu’s collar and roared, "But you let Bai Guo and others die! Blame it on this damn team battle."
"Luck won’t always be with you. Without strength, death is the only way." Yang Shangwu sneered continuously, "The Silver Trojan usually cleans up after a few plays, opening up a super difficult game scene. Do you know how I made it through? Once I was lucky enough to survive with the bare minimum of health, but it took two thousand points to recuperate. Another time, I used the resurrection card that the group leader gave me."
"A resurrection card?" Pang Meiqin’s eyes lit up and she cutted Yang Shangwu off, "What kind of prop is that?"
"An extremely rare prop. SSS Grade. By the way, Bai Guo and others could actually have survived." Yang Shangwu couldn’t be bothered to hide it anymore. Her plain words shocked Tang Zheng and the others on the spot.
"What do you mean?" Tang Zheng also grabbed Yang Shangwu’s collar. His veins throbbed on his forehead, "If you’re joking, I’ll make you wish you were dead!"
