Chapter 1542: Chapter 4 The Blind Minions

The Conquerors in the room were battle-hardened, having seen countless bloodshed and death, so the murderous aura of the two men failed to intimidate everyone present.

They nodded in acknowledgement, a form of greeting, then the two of them headed to a corner of the private room, taking out food and fine wine from the Space Wristwatch to enjoy on their own.

Twenty minutes passed by, and six more people arrived in the room, yet the host still hadn’t shown up, leaving some finally growing impatient.

"What’s this supposed to be? A snub? My time is precious," said a woman arrogantly. "It’s always a woman’s right to be late. Could it be that our host is some broad without an ounce of punctuality?"

The Conquerors laughed out loud. In the Trojan World, female Group Leaders were a rare breed, so this statement was a mean piece of sarcasm.

"Whatever, since we’re here, let’s just have fun, and introduce our identities to each other!" The woman with red lipstick glanced at everyone, not forgetting the mission the Group Leader entrusted her with: to probe the Organizer’s intentions and identify the invited Teams.

A few Group Leaders echoed her sentiment, clearly harbouring the same idea.

"Hey, cool guy, give us your name. You’ve seen our undergarments, so don’t be so aloof, okay?" The woman with red lipstick set her sights on Tang Zheng, licking her lips with a provocative tone, ready to spend a spring night with him if he was interested.

However, Tang Zheng wasn’t intending to conceal his identity. After the last round of fierce battles, both his Team’s and his personal rankings had soared straight up in the Asia Region, making them quite noteworthy. Even a fool would gather intelligence on them.

But before Tang Zheng could speak up, someone else cut in.

"Hehe, Sister, you must be out of the loop, right? This is the Group Leader of the Warhammer Team, famously known as a ’nice guy to a fault.’" A woman’s voice was as sweet as honey, and she sent Tang Zheng a flirtatious wink.

"Warhammer? That guy known as ’Good Guy Tang’?" Agate Man seemed to have heard of Tang Zheng’s background, turned to look at him, sizing him up with a smile, "He doesn’t look like a bad guy from his appearance."

"So young, yet your Team is about to break into the top three of the Asia Region, right on the heels of Vasily’s ’Moscow Can’t Believe in Tears,’" said the woman with the red lipstick, taking a renewed interest in Tang Zheng.

"That’s not all; last match, they went head-to-head with Bingxu, Vasily, and over twenty Teams ranked within top fifty, and only six came back. How formidable is Group Leader Tang?" The flirtatious woman, holding a goblet, walked over and sat beside Tang Zheng, took a sip of red wine, then leaned in, trying to feed him from her mouth.

Tang Zheng grabbed the flirtatious woman’s cheek, his fingers pressing hard.

Pfft, the flirtatious woman sputtered like a whale blowing out a spout of water, spitting the wine out.

The Conquerors remained silent, watching Tang Zheng, their expressions turning serious—the news delivered by the flirtatious woman had truly alarmed them.

"Could it be that the Asia Region is about to see the rise of another powerful Team?"

There were mixed feelings among the crowd, but one thought was strikingly similar: whether in Team Battles or support fights, it’s best not to be matched up with the Warhammer Team.

"How annoying," the flirtatious woman said in a familiar tone, still trying to seduce Tang Zheng, "Thanks to Group Leader Tang, the rankings of all our Teams have risen, you know!"

Bang, the door to the room opened once again, displacing the oppressive atmosphere within the private room.

Mu Nianqi stood at the doorway, like a queen surveying her dominion.

"Well, take a look. As a newcomers’ Team, you really are treated differently, having been graced with two invitations. This is the ’Queen’ of the Warhammer Team and also Group Leader Tang’s Alumni," said the flirtatious woman, very familiar with Mu Nianqi, taking the role of a host to do the introductions.

Mu Nianqi glanced at the flirtatious woman clinging to Tang Zheng and lost interest. The Group Leader might be popular with women, but not to the point where every woman he met would throw themselves at him.

"Exactly as I expected, none of the invited Group Leaders came to the banquet but sent their subordinates instead. Tang Zheng, as a Group Leader yourself, don’t you feel ashamed?" Mu Nianqi felt annoyed, thinking Tang Zheng was disgracing the Warhammer Team’s reputation.

Everyone had noticed, a Group Leader’s presence differed from that of an ordinary group member. In the private room, everyone had an aura, whether cold or battle-scarred, but except for Tang Zheng, no one had the easy confidence of a Group Leader.

A Group Leader’s presence unconsciously made others feel inclined to obey and secure—however, no one was interested in pursuing this further. Instead, they were very much interested in the relationship between Tang Zheng and Mu Nianqi.

"Just me, a single Group Leader, isn’t that just like walking into a banquet alone? Group Leaders who don’t even dare show their faces don’t deserve to be in the Trojan Horse Game. They might as well take their ten thousand points and get lost early!" Tang Zheng’s sharp tongue not only hit back at the queen but also included those cautious Group Leaders in his scathing remark.

The faces of some Conquerors changed, some even thinking about getting violent. This detail revealed that their own Group Leaders had considerable prestige in the hearts of their group members.

"That’s true, no wonder the overall ranking of the China Region is falling, it’s because there are too many schemers playing the game," Mu Nianqi said bluntly.

"Exactly, even the number one guy in the China Region is elusive, how can others be convinced?" The rough man finally found his opportunity, falling for Mu Nianqi with just one glance. Such a dominant woman was just his type.

Mu Nianqi was about to leave, but the flirtatious woman stopped her. The queen might not have seemed so naive, but from the subtle actions of this woman, Mu Nianqi guessed she must be the representative of the Organizer, although her identity was not disclosed.

Getting entangled with the flirtatious woman annoyed Tang Zheng, so he made an excuse and left the private room.

The lighting in the restroom was dim, with even a faint sound of moaning, obviously a pair of impatient lovers.

A man stealthily stood on the toilet lid, attempting to take pictures of the next stall’s occupants.

Tang Zheng washed his hands, couldn’t be bothered to pay attention, and as he looked at the familiar face in the mirror, he realized his own personality had changed a lot.

Walking back along the hallway, Tang Zheng, listening to the muffled noise coming from the private rooms, felt a sense of peace in his heart. He was contemplating how to talk to Meiqin when he saw a man crashing through a room’s door, bloodied and tumbling out.

"I dare anyone to leave! Fuck, just a slut, right? I’ll offer a million, stay with me for one night!" A blond young man with an earring cursed loudly and unscrupulously as he spat.

"Call security, and the police while you’re at it!" Fang Zhiwen had just taken out her mobile phone when it was snatched away by a scruffy youth and smashed onto the floor.

"I warn you, don’t go too far." Zhu Huarong’s face sank. He was about to show off his manliness in front of Le Song, but a man leaped in front of him and slapped him twice in the face.

Zhu Huarong was stunned, blood gushed out immediately, and several teeth fell out.

The girls were terrified and screamed out loud.

"Dude, aren’t you going too far?" Shen Jiashu’s face was gloomy; he cursed himself for being careless. He was ready to brush off these thugs and then make a phone call to his uncle, the Director of the Police Station.

"Going too far, my ass! That’s just how I roll. Not satisfied? Bite me!" The earring man pointed towards Bai Xia and Fang Zhiwen, thrusting his hips provocatively, "Come on, let me have a good time first; otherwise, none of you will leave here standing."

The boys were indignant and picked up wine bottles, but the ruthless aggression of the opponents held them back; they dared not strike.

Two other boys lay in the room, faces bloody, noses collapsed, evidence of the thugs’ brutality.

"Shen Jiashu, this is the crappy place you chose!" Fang Zhiwen was almost crying out of panic, venting her frustration on her classmate.

Tang Zheng wasn’t in the mood for the drama; security would handle it anyway. But as he passed the door, someone called out his name.

"Tang Zheng, help us!" In desperation, Xie Yundan called out to Tang Zheng as he passed by.

"Yundan?" Tang Zheng certainly wouldn’t forget a classmate’s face, and he frowned immediately – among these twenty-plus men and women, a small number used to share his major.

"Kid, get lost, this has nothing to do with you!" A hooligan standing outside the door saw Tang Zheng stop and immediately glared at him with bulging cow eyes.

These guys, used to the big shot earring man’s arrogance, actually reached out to shove Tang Zheng.

The hooligans laughed out loud, waiting to see Tang Zheng’s misfortune unravel. The boss with the earrings once beat a son of the Chief of the police station to a cripple, leaving him hanging on to half his life, while he himself remained free and happy. That was the source of their audacity.

Tang Zheng knitted his brows, didn’t dodge, and swiftly reached out with his left hand. Like a hunting python, he snatched the hooligan’s face and then violently smashed it against the wall.

There was a loud bang, and without even a scream, the hooligan passed out, his fresh blood splattering in a fan shape across the wall, leaving behind a mark like a cruel flower.

"Reinforcements? Just another unlucky... bastard!" The thug couldn’t finish his sentence.

"Seeking death, do you know who my brother is?" The earring man was stunned for a moment, then enraged, bellowing at Tang Zheng.

Xie Yundan didn’t expect Tang Zheng to be so ruthless either. The students watching from the doorway were stunned.

"Tang Zheng, take them down. If they get injured, it’s on me." Fang Zhiwen, seeing her savior, pleaded for his help. Medical expenses? She could afford them.

"Stand down if you know what’s good for you. Jiashu’s uncle is the Chief of the city police." Gao Shuang couldn’t stand Tang Zheng stealing the limelight and stepped forward, trying to intimidate.

"Fuck your ’chief’!" The earring man threw the wine bottle in his hand, hitting Gao Shuang straight on the nose, knocking him down, "Attack, break his legs."

Several hooligans drew out the daggers they were carrying and lunged forward.

Tang Zheng’s right leg lifted and swung like a siege hammer toward a hooligan’s knee, the cracking sound of breaking bones echoing as the unlucky fellow fell.

Fang Zhiwen and the others shivered collectively, not expecting Tang Zheng to strike with such ruthlessness.

"Be careful." Xie Yundan couldn’t care less about anything else, seeing the shiny daggers, and worried for Tang Zheng’s safety.

Shen Jiashu kept silent, and the other boys did not speak either; the violence of the gang had them frozen in place, none of them wanting to end up with holes in their bodies.

Tang Zheng grabbed a hooligan’s wrist, broke it, then caught the falling dagger and stabbed it into his shoulder.

Blood spurted, blooming like a beautiful rose in the air.

The ferocity of Tang Zheng’s response gripped everyone’s heart like an invisible hand, causing a suffocating feeling. (To be continued.
