Chapter 1543: Chapter 5: Overwhelming
"Fuck, a tough nut to crack!" Seeing his six underlings beaten to a bloody pulp and knocked to the ground in an instant, the enraged man with earrings drew his pistol from behind his waist. Without a second thought, he pulled the trigger at Tang Zheng.
Bang, the loud gunshots turned the faces of Fang Zhiwen’s group, who had never witnessed such brutality, pale. They covered their ears and screamed.
"Watch out!" Shen Jiashu instinctively shouted out, then inwardly cursed that it was all over. If someone died, the trouble would be enormous.
Xie Yundan wanted to warn Tang Zheng, but her throat felt as if it was blocked by something. By the time a distorted voice came out, it was already too late.
"He’s done for." Gao Shuang, holding his nose, looked at Tang Zheng without showing any concern, thinking he was way too arrogant. Look, he’s in big trouble now; who knew how the situation would be resolved. This major trouble would surely be noted on his record as a serious demerit, marking a stain that could negatively affect future job prospects.
Tang Zheng shifted his feet slightly, casting a blur to dodge the bullet.
Clap, the bullet hit the wall, leaving behind a small hole.
The man with earrings was startled, about to fire the second shot, when his wrist suddenly hurt. The Glock pistol his brother had given him for self-defense was snatched away. Then, his vision spun, and he was slammed to the ground like a broken sack.
Cough cough, the man with earrings caught his breath, the pain almost making him cough up a lung.
"Do you know who my brother is? He could kill you as easily as turning his hand." The man with earrings yelled, pulling a dagger from behind to stab towards Tang Zheng’s abdomen.
Bang, a flame burst from the muzzle, and the bullet shot into the man with earrings’ palm, knocking the dagger away.
"There are so many blind fools around these days." Tang Zheng aimed the gun’s muzzle at the man with earrings’ right ankle and fired another shot.
Bang, as blood splattered, the man with earrings’ tendon was severed. His agonizing scream echoed throughout the corridor. Finally realizing fear, he struggled to crawl away, attempting to escape.
Shen Jiashu was about to speak to Tang Zheng, but the two shots frightened him, freezing him in his tracks.
Bang, bang, Tang Zheng stood at the doorway, raising his hand to shoot, firing the remaining ten bullets into the limbs of the man with earrings. Such a scumbag deserved no mercy.
Fang Zhiwen wanted to thank Tang Zheng, but his posture while shooting startled him. The expression on Tang Zheng’s face was indifferent, as if he was doing something as trivial as shooing away a fly.
Fang Zhiwen looked at Tang Zheng’s expression and suddenly realized that they were simply not from the same world.
At this moment, the corridor was filled with the sounds of agonizing moans. The previous fight had already caused some nearby private rooms to crack their doors open for a peek. Now hearing the gunshots, most of them quickly shut their doors, afraid to invite trouble upon themselves.
Of course, there were two people in the private rooms with significant backgrounds who were not worried. One young man stuck his head out, curiously looking around.
Bang, Tang Zheng tossed his handgun, startling the young man whose head quickly withdrew, as he hurriedly closed the door.
"Are you all okay?" Tang Zheng stepped over the bodies of several hooligans and approached the door, "Who’s hurt? Is it serious?"
"Tang Zheng, thank you!" Regardless of anything else, he saved them. Fang Zhiwen tried to act composed as he thanked Tang Zheng.
"Thank you, if it wasn’t for you, we would have been in big trouble." Although Shen Jiashu complained about Tang Zheng’s excessive force, he did well to express gratitude on the surface, after all, Tang Zheng had saved him.
"Thanks my ass, he fired a gun! What do we do now? We’ll all get in trouble." Gao Shuang moved closer, blaming Tang Zheng.
"How can you talk like that? He did it for our sake!" Apart from Xie Yundan, most maintained their silence. The situation had escalated too much, and all they wanted was to quickly leave and exclude themselves from the mess.
"Fuck, why are you poking your nose into this? Shen Jiashu’s uncle is the Director of the Police Station. Something that could have been settled with a phone call, now what?" Gao Shuang wanted to curse more but saw a fist rapidly enlarging in his field of vision.
Bang, Gao Shuang saw stars before he involuntarily fell to the ground.
Tang Zheng lifted his leg and kicked Gao Shuang in the stomach. The man flew through the air, slamming into a liquor cabinet, with bottles falling and smashing onto him.
"Watch your mouth!" Tang Zheng frowned, seeing these cowardly individuals, he sighed, "You all go on ahead, I’ll handle the rest."
"Don’t worry, I can ask my dad for help, and Shen Jiashu will assist too," Fang Zhiwen had calmed down, finally showing some responsibility.
"If someone is willing to be the scapegoat, why bother interfering?" Bai Xia and two other girls quietly tugged Fang Zhiwen’s arm, urging her to speak less.
"Jiashu, we still have things to do, so we’ll be leaving first." About a dozen students dared not make eye contact with Tang Zheng and after greeting Shen Jiashu, sought to leave before trouble arrived.
Tang Zheng didn’t blame them; seeking good fortune and avoiding disaster is human nature, so he made way for them.
"How can you do this? At least be a witness, right?" Xie Yundan became anxious and tried to stop them.
The students pretended not to hear, quickly left with their heads down, but they didn’t make it past as Agate Man blocked the corridor.
"Group Leader Tang, what’s going on?" The two tough men also came over, and seeing two students trying to bypass Agate Man, they swung their heavy hands, giving them a fierce smack.
Slap, slap—the sounds of slaps echoed as a boy’s cheek swelled up from the strikes; his head hit the wall, and he spat out a mouthful of bloody foam mixed with a few teeth.
The atmosphere tensed up again, and the students all looked at Tang Zheng with trepidation.
"The security guards of this KTV sure are slow to respond." Microphone snickered, whistling as he stepped over the hooligans and walked over, "Someone even fired a gun; are the gangsters of today this fierce?"
"Oh my, Group Leader Tang, you’re in a pickle now. That guy with the earrings is Ma Tianyuan’s younger brother. No wonder the security is slow—it’s someone they can’t afford to mess with," the flirty woman said in an exaggerated tone, swaying her generous hips as she approached Tang Zheng.
"Ma Tianyuan? What is that?" From the tone of her voice, Tang Zheng could tell that this guy was definitely a Conqueror.
"Not just any guy, he’s a Fearless, third-order English rank, his team is top ten in Asia!" the flirty woman said, her right hand resting on Tang Zheng’s shoulder. Looking at the mess, she laughed, "True to being a nice guy, you really held back. If it were any Conqueror, they would have killed them long ago."
Fang Zhiwen and her group couldn’t get a word in, watching a bunch of strangers talk as if they were afraid to leave, repelled by the strangers’ forbidding aura.
Zhu Huarong felt a twinge of jealousy seeing a beautiful woman flirting with Tang Zheng.
"What’s going on here, such a mess?" Mu Nianqi walked over, her status as a school celebrity made her recognizable to many students.
"President Mu," seeing Queen Mu was like seeing their pillar of strength, and the students were thrilled. Shen Jiashu, having leveraged his connections to get into the student council, had spoken to Mu Nianqi several times before.
"Senior Mu!" Shen Jiashu was about to speak, but Mu Nianqi stopped him.
Mu Nianqi walked straight past Shen Jiashu, disdainful of such a lack of backbone.
"Senior Nianqi, please help us!" Fang Zhiwen, being a minor figure in the student council, had met Mu Nianqi a few times and quickly seized the opportunity to connect.
The other girls didn’t dare to come closer once they saw Mu Nianqi’s commanding presence.
"Stop with the nonsense and deal with this mess quickly. Those two guys are about to die." A student noticed nobody was caring for the man with earrings and the one stabbed with a dagger, both close to bleeding out, and quickly reminded everyone.
"Tsk, no need for Tang Zheng to act for such a minor issue—I’ll handle it!" The woman with red lips pulled out her mobile phone to make a phone call. This sort of thing wasn’t even worth a favor; any Conqueror could handle it easily, she was just doing it to make a good impression on Tang Zheng.
"There’s no need." Mu Nianqi took out her phone and directly called her uncle, "Uncle Yu, we’re at Bluebird KTV. Yeah, there’s been a bit of trouble. The security here is so poor, there’s really no need for this place to exist."
Fang Zhiwen’s group barely dared to breathe as they heard Uncle Yu laugh loudly over the phone, saying he would shut down Bluebird to vent his niece’s frustration.
"Alright, everyone go home. Next time you go out, try to cause less trouble. If it gets too much, just call the police." Mu Nianqi lectured the students with an air of authority, then looked at Tang Zheng, "You too. Why make such a big scene just for dealing with some small fry?"
Tang Zheng shrugged innocently.
"Well, we can’t stay at KTV anymore, let’s find another place to keep drinking!" Eye-Shadow Girl wrapped her arms around Mu Nianqi and Tang Zheng, "I feel like we just hit it off from the start."
"No need, go back and tell your Group Leader, if there’s no sincerity, then don’t bother sending invitations." Mu Nianqi shook off Eye-Shadow Girl’s hand and left straight away.
The students heaved a sigh of relief, letting go of their tension and then realizing that Tang Zheng was clearly together with Mu Nianqi.
"No way, could the rumors be true?" Bai Xia couldn’t help but murmur.
"How is that possible?" Zhu Huarong wouldn’t believe it, even if it killed her.
"Tang Zheng, what are you dazing about for? Come here, I have something to discuss with you." As Mu Nianqi was about to leave the corridor, she turned around and called Tang Zheng. She hoped the team would train quickly to improve Bai Guo and her group’s strength.
Even the most naive of students could tell that the relationship between them was not ordinary just by hearing Mu Nianqi’s tone.
Shen Jiashu’s fists clenched. Today’s incident was a huge embarrassment. Watching Tang Zheng and Mu Nianqi walk away shoulder to shoulder made him envious.
"Handsome, remember to give me a call, I’ll be waiting to roll out the red carpet for you!" Eye-Shadow Girl kissed Tang Zheng on the cheek, leaving a lipstick mark.
"This crappy KTV doesn’t even have any hostesses, what’s the point!" Rough Guy, carrying a bottle of Rémy Martin, shouted lawlessly, "Let’s go, I’ll take you to play at Gold Emperor City!"
"Still in doubt?" Fang Zhiwen ridiculed Zhu Huarong.
"Who are these people?" Bai Xia was intimidated by the presence of these people, all of them seeming hard to mess with.
"Definitely not good folks." Gao Shuang limped over, his eyes blazing with fury, wishing he could tear Tang Zheng apart.
"Whether they are good or bad, I don’t know, but I do know they hold a lot of power." Fang Zhiwen could tell that the brazen demeanor of these people wasn’t faked; even with someone dead, they showed no fear.
"Do you think, with Mu Nianqi recently taking a leave of absence, she could be together with Tang Zheng?" Le Song gossiped, "Could they actually be in a relationship?" (To be continued.
