Chapter 1334: Chapter 10 Walking into a Trap
On their way to the Men in Black building, Tang Zheng rehearsed in his mind the various troubles he might encounter. In fact, if possible, he wanted to become a member of the Alien Management Committee. Having an official identity would always make actions more convenient, but having a legal identity restricted him.
"Joining such an organization, they would certainly probe into your ancestors for eighteen generations," Lu Fan also wanted to blend in with the Men in Black, but knew it was impossible.
"Keep in communication at all times, and if it gets blocked, use the tracker to find us!" For safety, Tang Zheng and Qin Yan each carried two Trackers.
"Let’s go!" Qin Yan crossed the street, ready to make some trouble and attract the attention of the Men in Black.
"Better let me go, even though Qin Yan has activated Hero Mode, she’s still a woman and it’s not safe," the Old Soldier tugged on Tang Zheng’s arm, actually thinking Mu Nianqi would be the best fit.
"I’ll protect her, don’t worry!" Tang Zheng patted the Old Soldier’s shoulder and caught up with Qin Yan.
This was the street facing the building, and as they turned the corner, they saw three Ford cars charging out of the parking lot, obviously heading to handle the incident at the Chinese Restaurant.
"What do we do?" Qin Yan glanced at Tang Zheng, her heart racing at the sight of his resolute profile, realizing that this seemed to be the first time the two of them were acting alone.
"How about we pretend to be Chocolate Aliens? Captured for stealing chocolate!" Tang Zheng looked into the distance.
Under the dim street lights, there was a streetwalker in denim shorts and a suspender shirt, smoking a cigarette. When she noticed Tang Zheng’s gaze, she immediately threw a flirty look, grabbing her breast and giving it a rub.
"What kind of alien is that? It’s an obvious lie. How about Cybertron?" Qin Yan really wanted to knock on Tang Zheng’s head, but she held back, "Stop joking, be serious."
"We can’t transform into cars; pretending to be Transformers would give us away." Tang Zheng extended his right hand and gave the streetwalker the middle finger, who in a rage spat out saliva and also flipped him the bird.
Pretending to be angry, Tang Zheng summoned a nebulous black mist enshrouded war general out of thin air, demonic with a Warhammer in hand, charging towards the woman.
The streetwalker was terrified by the sudden appearance of the Monster and ran away screaming.
"Go and demolish that mall!" Tang Zheng planned to make a bigger scene.
"What if the Men in Black don’t show up?" Qin Yan worried as she saw several people noticing the commotion and calling the police.
"Clearly, the Committee doesn’t want Ordinary Citizens to know that Alien Species live amongst them. It would cause Panic. So, they erase the memories of bystanders. They must have a complete Intelligence System to ensure they can respond immediately when aliens appear," Tang Zheng said as he stepped through the broken hole made by the war general. Through the tic-tac-toe-shaped Building, he could see merchandise on each floor and made a beckoning gesture, "Want to buy something? My treat!"
"I can get my own!" Qin Yan rolled her eyes at Tang Zheng and with a powerful jump, she grabbed the railing on the third floor, flipped over, and landed on the upper level.
Tang Zheng stepped onto the escalator-like Elevator and had only gone halfway up when four Security Guards, alerted by the noise, hurried over.
"Don’t move!" The guards were nervous, pointing Handguns at Tang Zheng, only to be startled by a giant shadow that suddenly loomed above them.
Boom, the Warhammer slammed into the ground, creating a big pit and sending Debris flying everywhere. The guards peed themselves with fear, and a burst of Random Shots rang out toward the war general, to no avail.
If they killed anyone, the Men in Black might treat them as serious criminals, so the war general merely dispersed the guards before starting to wreak major havoc.
"Check out the electronics floor," Tang Zheng said, uninterested in jewelry and fancy furs since he wasn’t short on money, aiming to collect some single-player games featuring Future Technology.
The Men in Black were efficient, appearing at the Mall in less than five minutes, showing their badges to the police, and assisting in sealing off the scene.
"Should we surrender or fight?" Qin Yan dropped the clothes in her hand and looked down at the two guys wearing sunglasses—who Tang Zheng had seen before, the pair of partners.
"Of course, we fight!" As soon as Tang Zheng spoke, the short-haired black man pulled out a Handgun and fired a warning shot next to him.
A tadpole-shaped blue Energy Sphere struck nearby, Vaporizing the obstructing Debris and leaving behind a pit one meter in radius.
"Don’t move, or I’ll blow your heads off!" the black man shouted, sprinting toward them.
"Find a chance to Display Your Ability later, or they’ll think we’re just Humans," Tang Zheng used the war general to block the Men in Black and grabbed Qin Yan’s hand, running to the other side.
"What Alien Species is this? I’ve never seen it before?" the black man shot at the war general, and Tang Zheng took the chance to retrieve it.
"Not sure. It’s probably an undocumented stowaway," the white man was older but fit, "Looks like we need backup."
"No need," the black man was confident, speeding up his pace and shooting toward the direction Tang Zheng and Qin Yan were running, trying to intercept them.
Pretending to be enraged, Tang Zheng punched a hole in the Wall, lifted a massive chunk of concrete, and hurled it at the Men in Black.
"Run!" Qin Yan fell, pretending to be in Panic, shouting at Tang Zheng, "We can’t beat them."
Tang Zheng’s goal was to paralyze the other party so that after he was captured, the restraining measures taken might be simpler.
The black man fired his gun, and fragments from the burst energy sphere splattered onto Qin Yan. The parts that were hit immediately liquefied, which caused the black man’s eyes to narrow and his doubts to vanish. There was no doubt that this was some unknown alien species, as ordinary people certainly did not possess superpowers.
After a few minutes of pursuit, Qin Yan was captured.
"Stop, or I’ll kill her!" The black man’s muzzle was pointed at the mature woman, threatening Tang Zheng.
"Don’t hurt her!" Tang Zheng raised his hands, his face filled with a pained expression, "I beg you."
The white man ran over, took out a pair of special handcuffs, and after putting them on Tang Zheng’s wrists, blue electric currents appeared, spreading a light film up to his shoulders.
Tang Zheng immediately felt a numbness in his body and could no longer exert any strength. Qin Yan was also handcuffed, and only then did the two black-clothed figures breathe a sigh of relief.
"Which planet do you come from?" The white man asked as if carrying out official business, and nodded his chin down, "You go deal with the onlookers."
"Where is this? We want to go home!" Tang Zheng shouted, clearly unresigned.
"This is Earth. Once we confirm your identities, we will send you away," the white man said amiably. "As long as you behave and don’t cause any trouble, we won’t hurt you."
"How long will we have to wait? And we’re hungry!" Tang Zheng and Qin Yan calmed down and followed the white man away.
"Three to four days." The white man was leading Tang Zheng out of the building when a bulletproof truck had already stopped nearby.
"Hey, partner, they still have personal belongings on them; could that be dangerous?" The black man, with a cigarette in his mouth, walked over and, noticing the space wristwatches on Tang Zheng and Qin Yan’s wrists, reached out to take them.
Tang Zheng immediately pretended to be furious, and with a knee thrust, he slammed it into the black man’s stomach.
The black man coughed out a mouthful, spat out the cigarette, and fell to the ground, clutching his stomach.
The white man got a shock, hurriedly pressed the controller, and more blue electric currents shot out of the handcuffs, spreading over Tang Zheng’s entire body.
With Tang Zheng’s physique, he could have easily withstood the shock, but he still pretended to be in pain and fell to the ground.
The black man got up, furious, and raised his foot to kick Tang Zheng.
Qin Yan blocked him, but the white man was quicker and stopped his partner.
"Did you forget what I told you? Even aliens have their customs, and if you’re not careful, you can stir up trouble. They’ve been very cooperative; there’s no need to push it," the white man chided his partner, disliking his impatience, "Get on!"
Qin Yan, supporting the ’weak’ Tang Zheng, entered the carriage, which contained a metal cage large enough to hold a giant beast.
"Where are we taking them next? Process them like stowaways? Send them to the harbor to return home?" The black man looked back, puzzled, "What is their true form?"
"Not sure, according to the process, they should be sent to the alien sanctuary for a full range of tests to establish their files," the white man said, as a veteran, some things went unsaid. Even if they figured out their identities and the address of their home planet, these two unlucky devils couldn’t return. They would live on Earth as live specimens to collect data at any time.
"We did it, uncle’s acting is awesome!" Lu Fan jumped out from where he was hiding, looking at the red dot on the virtual screen, urging everyone, "Hurry up and chase, don’t get too far away."
The newbies were arranged to sit on a luxury bus. Just as Li Huiwen and Ran Mei found seats, Yu Liben came over aggressively, grabbed his wife by the collar, and harshly slapped her face.
"Hey, no hitting," Lin Weiguo shouted, but to no avail.
"It’s my wife. What’s it to you?" Yu Liben was already a gangster, and having died once, he was even bolder.
The old soldier was prepared to teach this guy a lesson, but Yu Liben pushed even further, staring at Li Huiwen before grabbing her collar and yanking it, followed by a fierce barrage of slaps left and right.
"You bitch, you dare to kill me? I’ll make you kill!" Yu Liben, spewing out his spit, struck Li Huiwen until her mouth bled.
Xu Liangmao originally didn’t want to deal with his wife, planning to go their separate ways down Yangguan Road, but after seeing this, he couldn’t help himself. He stood up with a bound, squeezed through the crowd, and lunged at Yu Liben.
"What are you doing?" He was grabbed from behind before he could finish. Yu Liben turned around to see the conquerors, and he became slightly intimidated, but still bellowed.
"I’m beating my wife, what’s it to you?" Yu Liben hadn’t finished his shout when his mouth was met with a punch, shattering all his teeth, followed by another punch from the miserable man, hammering the broken teeth into his stomach.
Yu Liben was terribly unlucky; his ’my wife’ remark had hit a raw nerve with the miserable man, who wasn’t going to let it slide.
Xu Liangmao, furious, pinned Yu Liben down and gave him a good beating, and no one in the carriage spoke a word. (To be continued. If you like this work, welcome to qidian.com to cast your recommendation votes and monthly votes, your support is my greatest motivation.)
