Chapter 1282 - 36 Demon Hunter

Chapter 1282: Chapter 36 Demon Hunter

Boom, the bomb exploded upon touching the ground, unleashing a large burst of flames. The shockwave caused the bus to shake violently, shattering all the side window glass into pieces that sprayed everywhere.

"What the hell?" Zhao Dongtao yelled furiously. He had been aiming, and the explosion caused him to lose his balance. As he swayed, the muzzle of his gun shot in a straight line towards the roof of the bus, nearly hitting someone nearby.

"Up in the sky!" Lu Fan released a sand-eye sphere and saw circular ripples suddenly appear in the clear night sky, forming a teleportation gate from which dual-headed dragons rapidly emerged, diving towards the bus.

Each dragon was ridden by a Demon Hunter clad in tight leather clothes and wearing a wide-brimmed cowboy hat, pulling black bombs the size of bowling balls from their backpacks, lighting the fuses, and dropping them down.

Boom, boom, the bus charged forward at full speed, narrowly escaping the bombs detonating behind it, the blast waves causing the vehicle to sway left and right like a small boat in a storm, constantly at risk of capsizing.

All the glass was shattered, and shards injured the faces of several newbies, causing them to bleed.

The dual-headed dragons dove down, opening their large mouths and roaring as they unleashed bolts of lightning towards the bus.

Pang Meiqin grabbed a mirror, punched out the remaining shards of glass, and stuck it out the window to observe the sky. When the lightning struck, she immediately turned the steering wheel.

With a sizzle, the lightning grazed past the bus and hit the asphalt, creating a big hole. Stray electric arcs, attracted by static electricity, jumped onto the bus. Fortunately, the newbies’ primary protective clothing was effective enough to neutralize it.

Jing Lan’s Ghost Reaper flew towards the cavalry on the street ahead. Zhao Dongtao’s Floating Cannon activated in front of the bus. Various cannon barrels, like mushrooms sprouting after the rain, grew from it and fired simultaneously, blasting the charging cavalry apart.

Lin Jing, skilled in the Shooting series, held a sniper rifle, precisely picking off cavalry. Lin Fachan stood by his side, his shooting skills not bad either; each shot resulted in a head-exploder.

Ruan Feifei waved her hand, throwing a Lightning Ball that, upon reaching the middle of the cavalry group, burst suddenly, forming electric rays that scattered and knocked them down.

"Lu Fan, sand shield," Tang Zheng commanded as he broke through the bus roof to facilitate the attack. Seeing the Demon Hunters riding the dual-headed dragons begin their dive, they wielded mechanical crossbows with quivers, releasing triggers that shot twenty purple-glowing arrows like meteors, trailing behind them.

Ownerless war horses still charged fiercely, slamming into the sand shield. Lu Fan cleverly fashioned spikes on the shield, impaling the horses with blood dyeing everywhere a stark red.

The bus shook violently, slowing down as its power wasn’t enough to counter the many cavalry impacts.

The Demon Hunters’ arrows were sharp. With thudding sounds, they penetrated the roof and pierced into the carriage. Sizzle, sizzle, the newbies were unlucky; their protective clothing couldn’t stop the arrows, all were hit, causing a catastrophic scene of people thrown and screams continuous.

The Conquerors quickly activated their shields, deflecting the oncoming arrows. Lin Fachan cared deeply for his girlfriend, completely disregarding his own defense, extending his hands to shield her.

"Everyone shut up, whoever yells, I’ll throw them off the bus!" Dantai roared, and a Mental Impact swept out like sea waves towards the cavalry group in front of the bus.

Xu Biyun’s Human-shaped puppet burst from the ground, charging and colliding with the cavalry. Dong Zixuan’s lava was a clearing tool, but regrettably, it couldn’t be used lest it would burst the bus tires as well.

Gu Xueqi didn’t treat the injured newbies, while Song Xin couldn’t bear it. Her hands filled with nebulous white light, healing them. The university belle wanted to say something, but her lips quivered several times and, ultimately, she didn’t speak.

"Ah, can’t see the situation clearly!" Gu Xueqi was alarmingly calm. She too wanted to help others, but that kind of cost was not something she could bear. She had to meticulously manage every bit of life energy, as only by doing so could she enhance her chances of survival.

"These guys are putting in real effort, don’t seem like fakes, huh?" Tang Zheng observed his teammates even during combat, unfortunately their performance baffled him.

Mu Nianqi used an SS-level insect-shaped bow, each arrow transforming into roaring dragons in mid-air. One struck the underbelly of a dual-headed dragon, piercing through and sending it plummeting.

Boom, a bomb fell onto the bus roof, creating a large hole, and iron shrapnel flew all over, embedding into the bodies of the newbies.

A female university student was particularly unlucky; shrapnel split her head open, and she collapsed on her classmate, brain pulp splattering over him.

The classmate shivered with fright and instinctively pushed the corpse away, but Zhao Yunwu cleverly caught the body, using it as a shield.

Seeing their scattered attacks failing to take down the bus, the Demon Hunters regrouped and launched another diving assault, dropping a multitude of bombs.

Tang Zheng wielded dual Gatling machine guns, switched on the power, and the six barrels revolved wildly, scattering a massive barrage of bullets.

Bullets hit the bomb, triggering explosions. Under the night wind and starry sky, they burst like beautiful, vivid fireworks, dazzling to the extreme.

The Demon Hunter discarded his bombs and, reaching the lowest point, uniformly drew his crossbows and fired a barrage at the bus, then flicked the reins and swiftly ascended.

The dual-headed dragon flapped its wings, stirring up visible currents of air while spewing dazzling blue lightning.

Tang Zheng deployed the gravity barrier. The arrows, just a meter from the roof of the bus, halted abruptly as if seized by an invisible hand, then clinked and clattered as they fell onto the street.

Lu Fan’s sand shield and the young woman’s ice shield were slow and ineffective. Centered around Tao Ran, a black "Sigh Wall" unfolded, enveloping the bus. The lightning struck it, thinned, weakened, and finally dissipated into nothingness.

Black Long Straight leaned against the bus wall, breathing heavily. The excessive use of life energy had exhausted her.

The battle seemed to have reached a stalemate, but before anyone could relax, they heard Lin Jing’s scream, "Watch out!"

A dual-headed dragon suddenly appeared on the left side of the bus. The Demon Hunter, pressing down his cowboy hat with one hand and holding his crossbow with the other, aimed at the carriage.

"Goodbye, everyone!"

The faces of the newbies changed dramatically as they watched the purple arrows whistling out, piercing into the carriage.

Several shields sprang up, Lin Fachan threw himself onto his girlfriend’s back, and the arrow struck his back, while the quick-reacting newbies instinctively ducked towards the ground or threw themselves sideways. Of course, some were too shocked and just stood frozen in place.

Tao Ran activated the Sigh Wall, but it was a moment too late. Although layers of shields blocked some arrows, others harvested lives.

A university student’s chest was pierced; the arrow went through and then lodged into the head of another student behind him. Another arrow shot into the student’s eye socket, burst through the head, and, with blood and brain pulp on its tail, shot across to the other side of the carriage.

The Demon Hunter shook his reins, getting ready to take off when a beam of light blasted into his chest, turning him into broken flesh. The remaining half of his corpse, hooked by the right foot in the stirrup, hung grotesquely beneath the ascending two-headed flying dragon.

The cavalry group chasing from behind could not approach due to firepower. The front punishment troop was already wiped out; the only headache was the Demon Hunters above, annoyingly persistent like flies.

Demon Hunters began to dive, another volley of arrows and dozens of lightning bolts poured down, and under such an onslaught, the bus was riddled like a sieve, with six people dead and most wounded, unable to fight and hindering the movement of the Conquerors.

"We can’t keep this up, we need to find a place to take out those aerial cavalry," Dantai said, not waiting for Tang Zheng’s consent, and pointed to a tall building not far on the right, shouting, "Just smash in there, it will negate the aerial cavalry’s advantage."

"Aren’t you afraid they’ll blow up the building and bury us alive?" While Teng Yuangxiang was still preoccupied, Pang Meiqin stomped hard on the accelerator, darting out, and after a few seconds, the bus fiercely smashed through the glass door and burst into the office building.

The Demon Hunters relentlessly pursued, controlling the two-headed dragon to dive as a silhouette appeared on the horizon, shooting another wave of arrows into the lobby as they stormed in.

Bai Guo, unfortunate enough to be there though invisible, was accidentally hit by a wandering two-headed dragon and rolled out.

The newbies chaotically fled the main entrance, and the place devolved into chaos with screams as the two-headed dragon’s wing-flaps sent turbulent currents and lightning hissing, and debris flying everywhere.

Just as a Demon Hunter had reloaded his arrow case, ready to fire, Tang Zheng shot his head off. The corpse tumbled down, and he snatched the crossbow in a leap, climbed onto the back of the two-headed dragon, fiercely pulled the reins to guide its flight, and simultaneously fired at a Demon Hunter passing beside him.

Zz, zz, arrows shot out in volleys, turning him into a porcupine.

With no flying height in the lobby, all the two-headed dragons landed. The Demon Hunters dismounted, removed the Demon Slaying Holy Flames strapped to their backs, cocked them, and began wildly shooting at the survivors.

Bang, an upper half of a newbie was turned into a spray of broken flesh that splattered onto the nearby wall, radiating out in a fan shape like a piece from Picasso’s abstract paintings.

More and more dual-headed dragons landed in the lobby, Demon Hunters dismounted to chase the survivors, and cavalrymen also dismounted, taking up shotguns to pursue.

A Demon Hunter chased Bai Guo, but Natural Stupid turned invisible, reappeared behind him, and with Dragon’s Sharp Edge severed his trachea in a burst of blood. She grabbed the Demon Slaying Holy Flame, fired backhand, and killed a pursuing Demon Hunter.

A nurse in a hurry fell on the floor.

"Help me!" The nurse shouted, but unfortunately, those nearby couldn’t attend to her. Sun Jingshan looked back, hesitated, bit his teeth, and tried to run to her aid, but was too late.

Just as the nurse got up, a Demon Hunter rushed over, his riding boots harshly kicking her back down, then stood on her back and jabbed the gun muzzle into her head. (To be continued.
