Chapter 1210: Chapter 81 Fight to the Death_2

"Robbery!" Tang Zheng had just finished speaking when he suddenly darted to the right, his foot kicking off the wall, using the momentum to leap several steps up.

The soldiers were about to mock Tang Zheng’s overestimation of his abilities, but he preempted them and frightened them into hurriedly opening fire. Bullets flew randomly through the alleys, striking the walls and sending fragments flying everywhere.

A soldier in front fired only twice before Tang Zheng’s Desert Eagle spit out gunfire, the bullets piercing his chest. The power of a Level A firearm was evident, as the soldier was cut in half, a gaping hole through his torso.

The soldiers behind recognized the Desert Eagle and thought Tang Zheng would soon run out of bullets. However, his handgun seemed to transform into an assault rifle, constantly spewing bullets with immense power. The bullets created head-sized holes in the walls, and the powerful firepower pinned them down, forcing them to hide.

"I was careless," Tang Zheng sprinted without shooting, creating the illusion that he was out of bullets. The soldier opposite took the bait and peeked out, only to have his right hand shot off.

The soldier screamed in agony and turned to run.

Tang Zheng wanted to capture one alive and didn’t shoot. After exiting the passage, he saw the soldier talking into a walkie-talkie and hiding behind a pickup truck.

"No chance now," Tang Zheng had intended to interrogate for intelligence and then storm the American base, perhaps laying a trap himself. Even if they had captured Eve, he could still take her back. But now, with the soldier alerting his allies, any further attempt might walk him into a trap.

Holding his gun in one hand, Tang Zheng shot at the pickup. The thin metal was no match for the 20mm caliber bullets, which tore large, irregular holes, with no pattern to evade.

A bullet piercing through the metal decapitated the soldier, his death made clear by the anxious calls from his walkie-talkie.

Tang Zheng shrugged his shoulders and walked away, but suddenly heard a noise from a corner.

"Come out, or I start shooting!" Tang Zheng fired a warning shot, and a car thief, with hands raised, stood up.

Tang Zheng curled the corner of his mouth and gestured with his hand.

"Go blow up that vending machine over there. If you don’t, I’ll kill you." Since he could no longer use it, and other teams might, Tang Zheng decided to destroy it as a precaution.

The car thief dared not refuse and, now an accomplice, Tang Zheng felt certain the man would not cause trouble.

"You’ll be disappointed to hear I’ve lost her," Tang Zheng casually responded and then ignored Susan. "You can leave."

Susan was disappointed, but with no familiarity with the place, where could she go? She had no choice but to stay.

"Does Tang Zheng like me? Is he deliberately not letting me leave?" The idle Western woman began to fantasize wildly.

Back on the bus, Tang Zheng handed a Howling Reaper to Rong He and then an Ammunition Gift Pack to Tao Ran.

"Carry these, you’ll use the RPG-7, responsible for fire support." Despite a touch of selfishness in having her nearby—to watch over her more—Tang Zheng instructed, "Start practicing loading it."

Rong He had given up two parts of her organs and naturally wanted to boast a little. She explained the recent events to the newbies and kept fiddling with the machine gun.

The Howling Reaper looked excellent, with an all-black baked paint finish, and a disintegrating bullet chain filled with golden bullets, pressed into the gun mechanism, exuding a metallic, murderous aesthetic.

"Tang Zheng has three gift packs, doesn’t that mean he’s lost at least five organs?" Liu Man looked worriedly at Tang Zheng. The others caught on and, ignoring Rong He, were more caring towards their Group Leader.

Tang Zheng had lost an eye, which the newbies had all seen, and they admired his courage.

"Tang Zheng, could you give me a machine gun?" Liu Guohao, glancing at his wife Li Huixin, mustered the courage. "I will fight to the death."

"Sorry, there aren’t enough to go around," Tang Zheng declined. The remaining weapons were for Dong Zixuan, Zhao Dongtao, and the now-awake Song Xin. Liu Guohao was a decent man, but his presence with his wife meant he would likely prioritize her safety over others, Chu Baichuan was a clear example of this.

"No worries," Liu Guohao forced an awkward smile, scratching his head.

"Here, take some ’bullets’ and an incendiary grenade; they’re all from the ammunition gift pack," Tang Zheng wouldn’t let Liu Guohao be disappointed. It was time to win people over and he couldn’t go soft, especially since he couldn’t use up all that ammunition on his own.

"Thank you, thank you," Liu Guohao was overjoyed.

"You’re making a killing. That’s the ammunition exchanged with our organs," Rong He felt a twinge of annoyance, revealing his pettiness.

"Tang Zheng, can I have some too?" Boss Wu, who was almost forgotten, stood up to bond with Tang Zheng, "We’re friends through a fight now, aren’t we?"

"Sorry, there’s too little ammunition," Tang Zheng refused, turning to his hesitant classmates and distributed hand grenades and three hundred bullets among them to ensure they could protect themselves, "There are too many people, not enough to go around."

Some of the newbies didn’t get anything at all, watching enviously as others handled the incendiary grenades.

"We understand your intention," Jing Lan, holding a hand grenade, smiled, "We won’t let you down."

"Yes, if we all work hard together, we’ll definitely make it back," Qian Wen hit his chest reassuringly as he was eating, but ended up choking, causing everyone to burst into laughter.

"Next time there’s an opportunity like this, I’ll take the chance," Xiu Yingjie wanted to change the image Tang Zheng had of him, unfortunately, no one took the bait, leaving him feeling awkward.

"As you can see, my leg is healed because I bought medication," Tang Zheng lifted his pant leg for everyone to see the healed wound, "Even if bitten by zombies, don’t worry, I have the medicine, but you must fight hard and earn my acknowledgement before you can get treated. If anyone is too cowardly and afraid of death, then I’m sorry, if you’re injured, just wait to die."

With no one else to play the bad cop, Tang Zheng had to do it himself. He strapped the knife sheath to his waist and practiced some quick draws, ready to encourage the newbies again, when Dong Zixuan’s anxious voice came through the walkie-talkie.

"We’re surrounded and under sniper attack," Dong Zixuan’s voice was almost drowned out by the dense gunfire.

"Tao Ran, Rong He, Liu Guohao, come with me. Liu Man, Jing Lan, look after Song Xin. The rest of you, stay put," Tang Zheng, carrying the ammunition gift pack and holding the Howling Reaper, rushed towards the building, "Report your locations."

The three named people immediately took action.

"Guohao, be careful," Li Huixin’s face was full of worry; she really didn’t want her husband to take risks.

"I’ll be fine, take care of yourself," determination was written all over Liu Guohao’s face.

Dong Zixuan’s squad was pinned down in a house, unable to break out, surrounded by a group of strangers launching a fierce attack.

"What’s this all about?" Kong Licheng was utterly frustrated; the opposition were obviously professional soldiers, fierce and formidable.

"Help, help me," Zhang Antai lay on the ground, breathing weakly, his chest a mess of blood and flesh, having been blasted by a tripmine.

Dong Zixuan couldn’t bring herself to use others as cannon fodder, but Kong Licheng didn’t care. He’d intended for Nie Jianhua to go first, but Zhang Antai, on seeing Tang Zheng wasn’t around and, accustomed to being a leader with a bit of an ego, suggested for his own safety and was rebuffed by Kong Licheng. Zhang Antai’s expression darkened and he looked displeased.

"Who are you showing that face to?" Kong Licheng had had enough of this nuisance with nowhere to vent, so he slapped Zhang Antai’s face repeatedly before kicking him out the door.

Zhang Antai was just unlucky; someone had taken Eve ahead of him and had set up a grenade on the door. So when the leader opened the door, he got the full brunt of the blast.

The American soldiers also came to rescue Eve. Seeing someone beat them to it, they didn’t bother with pleasantries and opened fire, blocking their escape route.

Tang Zheng charged up to the fifth floor and could already hear the fierce gunshots from the eighth floor; both sides were locked in a bitter fight.

"Tread lightly and get ready for combat," Tang Zheng tiptoed up the stairs. A soldier at the stairway entrance was changing his ammo clip. When he saw Tang Zheng holding the machine gun, he turned his gun towards him, but Tang Zheng was quicker.

The Howling Reaper roared, unleashing a storm of bullets and killing the unlucky soldier. (To be continued. If you like this work, you’re welcome to come to Qidian (qidian.com) and cast your votes or monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
