Chapter 1197: Chapter 70: Death and Resurrection_3
"We’re all in," the miner gritted his teeth and lunged forward. The Tyrant swung its fist, striking the miner squarely in the head and smashing him against the wall, like a mosquito swatted dead, the Skull shattered, and the headless Corpse slid to the ground.
The woman couldn’t escape, after running out of bullets from her assault rifle, she pulled out her handgun and fired at the approaching Tyrant. She knelt on the ground, terrified and in despair.
A whistle sounded, and the Tyrant stopped in its tracks. After glancing at the woman, it turned and left.
The woman felt lucky, thinking she had narrowly escaped death, but the next second, she saw the Tyrant forcefully stomp on the floor, shattering the Marble and sending it flying. The Tyrant swung its arm, hitting the fragments of stone like baseballs hit by a home run, and they shot towards the woman at high speed.
The woman wore a face of horror, her scream cut short as the high-speed flying Marble smashed her head and pierced through her body.
"What do we do now?" Song Xin hid behind the window and glanced at Dong Zixuan, who lay sleeping on the Bed, asking Tao Ran.
"Fight!" Tao Ran held the assault rifle with a resolute expression. "We can’t take the policewoman with us; our only hope is that the traffic police can kill off the zombies."
Song Xin didn’t speak, just nodded silently.
Tang Zheng was awakened by the intense gunshots, he opened his bleary eyes, his vision a blur, unable to focus, and his body felt like it had just come out of a meat grinder, every muscle and bone wailing in excruciating pain, prompting him to let out an involuntary scream.
"I’m not dead? The Potion worked?" Tang Zheng tried to get up, but his body wouldn’t cooperate, and he fell off the Bed, nearly knocking the wind out of himself.
Tao Ran and Song Xin heard the commotion next door, exchanged glances, and ran over together.
"Tang Zheng, are you alright?" Song Xin saw him sitting on the ground, gasping for breath, and cried tears of joy.
Tao Ran was also sincerely happy for Tang Zheng. He suddenly felt like they had a backbone again, easing a lot of the tension.
"What’s going on outside?" Climbing all night, the body was inevitably stiff, and because of too much blood loss, the head felt dizzy, but as his Heart beat strongly, pumping fresh Blood throughout his body, his vitality was rapidly restored, even the wounds were healing, though imperceptibly.
The two viruses eroded and merged with each other to form a new Virus, and it was gradually transforming Tang Zheng’s body. His blood-producing Ability far exceeded that of an ordinary person, and the oxygen his red blood cells carried was three times more, and these numbers would continue to rise over time.
"Somebody brought a Tyrant into town," Tao Ran didn’t understand what had happened either.
"What about Dong Zixuan?" Tang Zheng got up, wearing only a pair of pants, then picked up the Tactical vest, put it on over his body, and grabbed the Rifle.
"She’s still asleep." Song Xin grabbed Tang Zheng, "Your body isn’t fully recovered yet, don’t go out, let them handle it."
"If I don’t go out, they might collapse," Tang Zheng ran to the Window, already hearing Kong Licheng’s calls to retreat, "Hide and stay safe."
The battle on Main Street was fierce, Zhao Dongtao was driving the Hummer, dodging the Tyrant’s pursuit, Xiao Wang manned the vehicle-mounted machine guns, shooting at the Tyrant, while the traffic police kept firing AT-4s, though sadly with a lousy hit rate.
Although the Tyrant’s IQ wasn’t high, it was enough for it to identify danger and take evasive action.
Kong Licheng and Uncle Wang were still exchanging gunfire with the Special Agent, who was effortlessly ducking behind the truck.
Tang Zheng was originally planning to circle around to the Special Agent’s rear and kill him first, but the Hummer ran into trouble when the Tyrant suddenly picked up speed and charged. Zhao Dongtao violently turned the steering wheel to dodge, but the engine stalled.
Bang, the Tyrant slammed into the Hummer, denting the solid wall of the vehicle considerably. Xiao Wang roared and aimed his machine gun at the Tyrant’s skull, spraying bullets like cannibalistic fish, tearing off the skin and flesh from its face, leaving a gory mess.
The traffic cop, for the convenience of shooting, had the car door open, and this collision flung him from the Hummer. He struck his head and blood covered his face.
"Now’s my chance!" Tang Zheng didn’t wait any longer, planted his foot on the window ledge, and jumped down. After a roll to mitigate the impact, he charged toward the tank six meters away, "Just hold on for twenty more seconds!"
Tang Zheng, enduring the severe pain in his body, crawled into the tank, and with memory guiding him, he quickly spun the handwheel—the turret swiftly moved towards the Tyrant.
"Tyrant’s height is three meters, six key positions," Tang Zheng calculated the muzzle height, saw the Tyrant locked in his sight through the gunsight. Last night, he had loaded an armor-piercing bullet for emergencies, and now was the perfect time to use it.
Zhao Dongtao restarted the engine, but the Tyrant grabbed the ground with one hand, actually lifting the back end of the vehicle, leaving no chance to escape.
Boom, the Tyrant’s fist smashed into the roof of the car, deforming the wall and pinning Xiao Wang at the waist, nearly cutting him in half, and he screamed in pain.
"Die!" Tang Zheng hammered down the shooting button. With a bang, coupled with a jolt of the vehicle, a puff of gun smoke erupted from the muzzle, and the cannon shell roared out.
The Tyrant dodged its head, but sadly, Tang Zheng had aimed at its upper body; the shell pierced through the protective clothing and blew apart its chest.
Blood and broken flesh were scattered everywhere—half the side of the vehicle was stained red.
With one hit successful, Tang Zheng didn’t bother looking at the war results. He ejected the scalding shell casing, reloaded, and peered through the sight again. The Tyrant had strong vitality, and even in its dying moments, it dragged the Hummer, attempting to use it as a shield.
Tang Zheng fired, and this time the bullet took off the Tyrant’s head, achieving a successful kill.
The Special Agent was shocked by the turn of events. He hadn’t expected these civilians to know how to operate a tank. With the Tyrant dead, there was no way to report back to the organization. As he wondered what to do, he saw the tank’s turret turning toward him.
"Fuck!" The Special Agent made a desperate leap to the side. The tank fired, blasting the truck sky-high.
Tang Zheng leaped out of the turret, took a step, and jumped into the driver’s cabin. The engine roared to life, and with exhaust fumes spewing from the rear, the tank, like a steel monster, charged toward the Special Agent.
The Special Agent was cut by shrapnel across his waist, one leg crushed, and seeing no escape, he gritted his teeth, took out a syringe, and plunged it into his neck. (To be continued.
