Chapter 1196: Chapter 70: Death and Resurrection_2

"Tang Zheng, save me!" The girl was Tang Zheng’s classmate; she hadn’t died immediately, her face streaked with tears as she struggled to climb, her lower abdomen gone, leaving a thick trail of blood as she crawled.

The Tyrant didn’t bother with the girl; instead, it approached the man in the suit, who was pinned under the sofa.

"I’ll take you with me!" The man in the suit had his legs crushed by the sofa. Knowing he wouldn’t survive, he grew ruthless, pulling out a hand grenade and yanking the pin.

The Tyrant’s massive foot stomped on the man’s head, crushing it like a rotten watermelon, bursting it outright.

The hand grenade rolled helplessly out of the corpse’s hand and exploded with a bang, flames engulfing the Tyrant, but the monster was scarcely harmed, save for a few blood streaks scratched on its face by shrapnel.

It took the Tyrant less than twenty seconds to kill three people before it left the house. Following the whistle’s command, it rushed into the room opposite, where the five newbies hiding inside wet themselves in terror as it broke down the door.

"Retreat, everyone retreat," Kong Licheng roared, no longer attacking the Special Agent, preparing to turn and run away as there was no chance of winning.

"Zhou Meng, what are you hiding here for? Hurry up and help with the AT-4!" The traffic police arrived, commandeered a Hummer, drove it to the ammunition-filled supply truck, and started stuffing anti-tank missiles into the carriage.

"You think you can kill the Tyrant? Impossible, don’t take the risk." Zhou Meng wasn’t afraid of death, but he had to stay alive to protect Su Su. Besides, there was no benefit to killing the Tyrant.

"Quit your yapping. Are we supposed to just run away?" The traffic police, working vigorously, shouted to the newbies peeking out from the Hummer to watch the situation, "Quick, come help."

A few classmates came down, though none of them were optimistic about the traffic police’s action.

"Enough, Zhou Meng, get in the car. Someone else operate the vehicle-mounted machine gun; He Lian, you drive," said the traffic police, who had more or less grown familiar with them after nearly a day.

"Zhou Meng, don’t go!" Su Su cried out once more in plea.

Zhou Meng glanced at his girlfriend, shook his head to the traffic police, then carried two AT-4s over to another Hummer, which was his tool for escape.

"Aren’t you a man? Forget it, He Lian, drive," said the traffic police, realizing He Lian had not boarded yet, his gaze wavering.

"What’s wrong? You want to leave too?" The traffic police was on the verge of panic, fuming with rage.

"We can’t beat the Tyrant, it’s suicide," He Lian shouted.

"Don’t make excuses; you’re just afraid to die," the traffic police spat back, looking at the dozen or so newbies present, "Isn’t there anyone brave enough to fight back with me?"

"I’m in!" Zhao Dongtao and Xiao Wang ran over, gasping for breath. Zhao Dongtao sprang to the Hummer, flung open the door, and leaped in, "Get in, quick."

Xiao Wang hopped straight onto the roof to man the vehicle-mounted machine gun. Stubborn by nature, although he usually kept to himself, when it came to being ruthless, he didn’t hesitate. He and Zhao Dongtao were close friends, willing to face any danger together without a second thought.

"Let’s go!" The traffic police climbed into the Hummer, immediately hoisted an AT-4, and began setting up the mechanical sight, readying to shoot.

"Wangzi, I’ve dragged you into this." Watching Xiao Wang take the risk with him, Zhao Dongtao felt guilty.

"What kind of nonsense is that? Saving others is saving ourselves, I understand that," Xiao Wang cocked the machine gun, chambering a bullet. He had crammed a lot of firearms knowledge the night before, which now came in handy.

With a thunderous roar of the engine, the Armored Humvee drove onto Long Street. The traffic police didn’t see the Tyrant, but they did spot the Special Agent taking cover behind the Truck and exchanging fire with Kong Licheng. Without a second thought, he launched a missile at him.

The missile, trailing a scorching red tail, struck the Truck and immediately burst into a fireball, steel shrapnel whirling through the air like snowflakes.

"We can’t run, fight back!" The traffic police picked up another AT-4 and was about to call out when he heard Kong Licheng’s shouts, "What’s Tang Zheng doing?"

"Tang Zheng is dead," Kong Licheng retorted irritably, which sapped even more fighting spirit from the clueless newbies.

"Stop talking nonsense, it’s not confirmed," Zhao Dongtao tried to comfort himself, not truly believing Tang Zheng was still alive, "If we don’t kill the Tyrant, we absolutely won’t escape."

"Nonsense, you mean not everyone will escape," Kong Licheng believed that with his own strength, leaving the small town was no problem. Of course, that assumed some cannon fodder would die.

"There are still a few tough guys, huh!" The Special Agent blew his whistle.

Inside the house, the Tyrant wreaked havoc a second time, smashing furniture to break the stairs to the second floor. Apart from two newbies who escaped by chance, two miners and a woman were trapped there.

"Run through the kitchen!" The slightly dark-skinned miner, seeing that not everyone could escape, volunteered to stay back and fight the Tyrant. He set his assault rifle to burst fire, and in a few seconds, the bullets were gone. Sadly, he couldn’t even stop the Tyrant for a moment.

"I’ll fight you to the death!" The miner hurled his rifle at the Tyrant and drew a chopper to lunge at it. In his view, the Tyrant was nothing but a bit larger and stronger. He wasn’t good with guns, but he could wield a knife with no issue.

The miner, relying on his excellent physical condition, leaped high, swinging the chopper at the Tyrant’s head.

The Tyrant suddenly reached out, firmly grasping the miner’s head, and with the other hand grabbing his waist, tore him in two with a mighty pull, drenching half of its body in blood.

Discarding the corpse, the Tyrant smashed through the wall and into the kitchen—a dead end. The windows were barred with iron, and the two were trapped inside, their faces filled with panic.
