Chapter 1093: Chapter 58 Major Turmoil (Third Update)

Jing Xiang, who hadn’t unleashed her Seed, was overwhelmed on the first encounter, not even getting a chance to dodge. Xu Liang Mao was an honest man; Catwoman’s kind nature appealed to him, so he didn’t think twice and directly threw himself forward, blocking the vagrant.

Zi, two light beams shot out from the vagrant’s eyes, piercing through Xu Liang Mao’s chest, followed by a hook that sent him flying and started pummeling him relentlessly.

The sound of breaking bones was dense; Xu Liang Mao, unable to control his Seed, was severely injured in less than three seconds.

Tang Zheng turned around, propelled himself forward with force from his feet, and lunged out. The vagrant grabbed Xu Liang Mao, attempting to use him as a weapon against Tang Zheng, while it aimed to take Jing Xiang’s head.

Zi, the vagrant’s light beam fired again, piercing through Jing Xiang’s back, almost burning through her heart. Just as it was about to deliver a finishing blow, Pang Meiqin’s Demon Ripper blocked the beam and slashed towards its neck.

"Hold it back." Tang Zheng quickly took out a First Aid Kit, slapped it onto Xu Liang Mao, then rushed to Jing Xiang’s side to treat her, their combat abilities completely out of commission.

Pang Meiqin’s physical condition was exceptionally good; although she couldn’t overcome the vagrant, delaying it wasn’t a problem.

"Switch places, you guard them." Tang Zheng fired his Devil Flame Pistol repeatedly, intercepting the vagrant’s pursuit while wielding the Snow Circle Maru, slashing continuously.

The vagrant was actually injured too, just not seriously. To kill it, magic attacks were necessary, so the combat situation was at a standstill for the moment.

Two minutes later, a bus stopped nearby, and Dantai alighted with the Conquerors in tow.

"How did things get so bad?" Yu Manli caught sight of the two severely injured team members with one glance, startling her. With Tang Zheng there, it was supposed to be home ground advantage, so why were they being thrashed?

Dantai frowned and unleashed a Mental Impact. The vagrant clearly staggered and hesitated, though it wasn’t significantly affected.

"Electrocute it!" Sha Ou used Telekinesis to bind the vagrant, creating an opportunity for Ruan Feifei to attack.

"You don’t need to order me around." Ruan Feifei was still very proud; as her fingertips just started sparking, she flung her arm out, and the blue-white lightning struck the vagrant.

"This guy can only be killed with magic, physical attacks are greatly weakened." Although it was raining and the standing water was conducting electricity, Tang Zheng, well-defended, didn’t feel any paralysis at all.

The vagrant was struck by electricity, its skin emitting black smoke. When another bolt of lightning hit, the flames emerged, attempting to counter it.

"Xin Lan, it’s your turn." Dantai was also frustrated; the team’s Element Faction abilities were too limited. Faced with this situation, they could only snatch points blindly.

With the rainy weather completely in Li Xin Lan’s favor, she waved her hand and a white Ice Layer as wide as a palm rapidly spread, reaching the vagrant’s feet, then suddenly surged, blooming like a rose bush as dozens of spears shot out.

The vagrant was hit, viewing those Ice Frost spears as vapor, but for the first time, it coughed up fresh blood, its body sustaining damage.

Perceiving Li Xin Lan as a significant threat, the vagrant decided to eliminate her first. It dashed with large strides and, upon coming within five meters, melted into a fiery wave, engulfing everything in its path, as droplets of rainwater evaporated into mist.

Zila, a wall of ice suddenly rose in front of Li Xin Lan, colliding with the vagrant, and then formed a Coliseum, completely enveloping the vagrant.

Li Xin Lan had unleashed her Seed, and inside the Coliseum, spikes shot out, attacking the vagrant from every angle with no blind spots. It broke through the Ice Wall, and just as half its body escaped, it was driven back by Dantai’s Mental Impact and Ruan Feifei’s lightning.

Tang Zheng watched from the sidelines, no longer needing to intervene.

Li Xin Lan’s Ice Frost Arena repeatedly strengthened itself, executing continuous stabbings, and with Ruan Feifei and Dantai’s coordination, they killed the vagrant.

Though the vagrant was strong, as it was a puppet made by the Suit Old Man, it didn’t have any exclusive Equipment, so it dropped only five Golden Seeds.

"Stingy indeed." Dantai clicked his tongue and helped Xu Liang Mao up, "It’s time to retreat."

Tang Zheng woke the policewoman and used the Memory Eraser to erase a portion of her memory.

With over thirty policemen dead, it was naturally not something they could cover up. Tang Zheng reported the incidents truthfully to his superior, Chief Inspector Phil. After hearing that it was the actions of a Suit Old Man, Phil fell silent and then burst into a tirade of curses. Fortunately, Tang Zheng had been effective lately and had also given quite a bit of money, so he managed to keep his position as the Director.

"Could Phil know the Old Man’s identity?" Tang Zheng couldn’t understand but was too lazy to keep thinking about it. Back at the Police Station, he began arranging the following operations, striving to accumulate Sin Points.

"Notify everyone that from today on, no prostitutes in South City are allowed to take clients. Anyone who dares to violate this will be arrested and locked up for a month, and paying a fine won’t cut it," Tang Zheng sat in the conference room, barking orders emphatically, and also had Christina come in, "I want these words broadcast during prime time. Can you make that happen? If not, get lost. I’ll get another media outlet."

"Can you be a bit more gentlemanly?" the female reporter, holding a microphone, rolled her eyes at Tang Zheng.

"Director, if we do this, they won’t be able to survive, and it might even lead to serious trouble," an old policeman said with a pained expression, raising an objection.

"Besides prostitution, I refuse to believe there are no other jobs around. Just do as I say," Tang Zheng was ready to fight fire with fire, putting an end to their means of living, which would also increase his Sin Points. The chaos that ensued would also be attributed to him, so he was actually eager for those prostitutes to make a fuss.

"I’m going to clean up South City. All you thieves and slackers had better listen up: stay quietly at home, go to school or work, and don’t let me catch a whiff of wrongdoing, or you’ll regret ever being born into this world," Tang Zheng snarled coldly in front of the camera.

His words were all broadcast in the eight o’clock prime time slot, to the cheers of housewives, relieved that they wouldn’t have to worry about their husbands messing up, and most citizens also felt that the social atmosphere of South City would improve, eagerly anticipating that day. The next day, however, they were met with a severe blow.

The prostitutes were the first to cause trouble. Organized by someone unknown, they actually took up banners and started a protest march.

These women smeared themselves with various slogans and derogatory words, shouting along the way for Tang Zheng to get out of the South City Police Station and to return their civil rights, marching all the way until they converged in front of the station, broke a few glass windows, and began a sit-in.

"Hmph, let them sit. Just a few curses, and it’s not like I’ll lose a hair over it," Tang Zheng stood in front of the blinds, drinking coffee while indifferently watching those women, utterly bored.

Unimpressed by Tang Zheng’s declaration, the women’s patience wore thin, and within half an hour, they began chanting his name, demanding he come out and give everyone an explanation.

"Director, headquarters called. They want you to disperse them quickly to avoid negative impacts, and a lot of media have shown up too," the policewoman said, her voice filled with tension.

"What are you panicking for?" Tang Zheng frowned, "Get out, have the riot squad fully equipped and ready to move."

"Yo, such a big show of authority, Director," Pang Meiqin teased, walking in and casually wrapping her arms around his waist.

...

"Director, the riot team is ready," the policewoman was efficient. In less than half an hour, she knocked on the door.

"Wait!" Tang Zheng got dressed and walked out, warning, "This is the last time. Put on the protective clothing."

Hearing Tang Zheng’s rare concern, Pang Meiqin suddenly felt the joy of effort paying off.

"Did you make the call to the fire brigade?" Tang Zheng buttoned up his wind discipline button meticulously, exuding a powerful aura as he moved.

"Yes, they’re on standby in the back alley," the policewoman followed behind him, her high-heels clicking urgently on the floor as she hurried.

"Have the riot team there too." Dispelling just a crowd of protesting prostitutes wasn’t enough to energize Tang Zheng.

Without any notice, Tang Zheng directed the firefighters to spray water, dispersing the assembled women. The force of the water cannons was more than the women could withstand, many of them fell, drenched and in disarray.

Watching the protest dissipate, a group of young men, faces concealed, suddenly let out bizarre cries, charging out with homemade smoke bombs and Molotov cocktails, hurling them at the policemen, immediately escalating the atmosphere into tension and chaos.

Some of the more timid women started screaming, trying to flee, only to be injured by some thugs who then wrongly accused the police, further inflaming the conflict between both sides.

"Director, you better get control quickly, or this could spiral into serious chaos," not just the policewoman, other officers began to urge Tang Zheng to find a solution and mobilize more police forces to handle the emergency.

"Yeah, deploy the riot squad, catch those troublemaking thugs," Tang Zheng said emotionlessly, but inside he was gleeful because he had instigated the riot, and with his position as the director, his Sin Points soared far beyond the second-place Rogers’s.

"Hopeless, I’m even thinking of joining forces with Tang Zheng," being third place made Dantai very frustrated, despite being a confident man.

They were hiding on a bus, watching the disturbance spread, beginning to envy Tang Zheng, realizing his plan was indeed the right move.

Due to Tang Zheng’s inaction, the chaos intensified, with the thugs growing bolder, assaulting shops, robbing gold stores, jewelry stores, and luxury boutiques, beating anyone who resisted.

"Deploy, arrest those thugs. Anyone who resists, shoot on sight," Tang Zheng’s command turned the policemen’s expressions grave; it was too extreme.
