In This Rebirth, The Male Lead Is Mine [BL]
Chapter 99: Second Male Lead

Chapter 99: Second Male Lead

Of course, since there was a second male lead, there was also a third, a fourth, and so on. Epsilon was such a bitch who seduced every man or woman left and right using his gentle and kind demeanor.

Such a hypocrite. Rise criticized and scoffed at that thought.

He looked again at the native in front of him, who introduced himself as Zenos Lionheart. This time, more deeply and scrutinizing his appearance.

Rise had not truly met Zenos in his last life; he had heard of his name though. After knowing the important parts of the novel, he only brushed past most of the details, which he deemed not truly important.

The novel described Zenos, but he was not one to truly pay attention to such details. Now that the man himself was in front of him, the descriptions of the novel naturally flashed in his mind.

Looking intently at Zenos, Rise could fit the description to the real one. Someone with long golden hair, appeared as it was a lion’s mane as it flowed smoothly through his shoulders. His cat-like obsidian pupils, which glowed a golden hue as he was in his combat stance or feeling strong emotions.

Rise did not even try to remember some details besides that. For sure, it only had the standard that he was handsome and the like. That did not interest him much.

"Yes..." Zenos blinked, a bit surprised as Rise seemed to interrogate him, but at the same time, he looked quite... excited? "Do... You know me?"

Zenos was bewildered by such an excessive reaction, unless he heard of his name, this outsider... Rise should not react that much to the mention of his name.

Kamille studied Rise’s expression, and thoughts began to run through his head. At this moment, he was even itching to turn his ability to at least get a clue of what were Rise’s thoughts and what he was feeling. He did not do that, only clenched his jaw tightly.

Due to Kamille’s deep gaze, Rise finally noticed and sensed this, making him turn his head to his Guild Leader. Slightly startled, Rise moved closer to Kamille.

He wanted to make Kamille jealous, but not to the extent that he wanted to anger him, okay? He was only playing with fire and not to burn his chance.

"Well, that’s a unique name." Rise shrugged, "Your surname... does suit you as well." He only wanted to divert the attention, but who knew that Zenos would become proud because of that?

His gaze carried a burning favor, if not for their distance, he already held Rise’s hand with how proud he was.

"Really? Did it really suit me that much?" Zenos laughed with pride, his previous guarded demeanor seemed to lessen slightly.

A simpleton.

Rise sneered inside, but he nodded, touching his neck. "Yes, indeed." His answer was not truly sincere, but for a simpleton like Zenos relishing with a compliment and pride, he failed to notice it.

He laughed harder, his impression of Rise appeared to increase after those simple and unsincere words.

With a forced smile, Rise happened to lock gaze with Kamille, who never left his gaze off him. Kamille’s expression was as calm as ever, yet the hint of coldness on those pupils was not something he could ignore!

The forced smile on his lips instantly faded, and his heart skipped a beat.

For some reason, Rise also could not help but swallow. Most of the time, he was the one who provoked Kamille, but... His left eyelids seemed to twitch; his intuition was sending alarm signals!

This was serious! He had to do something otherwise... Otherwise, the wild Kamille would appear! Rise welcomed such rare encounters, but... This was not the right time.

Rise softly leaned his body to Kamille and suddenly rubbed his head against the other’s neck, trying so hard to coax the impending wild beast from rampaging.

"This... Zenos, uh, he’s..." Shit! Kamille’s expression only turned darker. He knew this method was wrong. Right, he mentioned Zenos’ name!

His lovely and sexy Guild Leader was in his possessive form, and any mention of other people’s names would only gravitate to the situation.

"Guild Leader," Rise pursed his lips and finally gave up. "I was wrong." When it came for Kamille, his mind seemed to malfunction, making him unable to successfully execute his tricks.

Not only Kamille could discern it in an instant, but Rise was unable to hoodwink him for real.

"Wrong?" Kamille asked expressionlessly.

Rise’s heart sank further. Damn! He might have truly messed up. Kamille was an unpredictable man, and... Rise’s perception of him of the past was still there. He might be fond of Rise now... But who knows when it might last?

This was an insecurity that Rise would not be able to overcome in just a month or two.

Kamille frowned slightly; he managed to observe the change in Rise’s expression. He was being unreasonable, and he knew that. Kamille wanted to stop, to hold back, and at least make sure to maintain his composure.

And yet, when it comes to Rise, he found out that the control over himself was so easily swayed by the man before him.

"You’re wrong for what?" This time, Kamille was genuinely confused, but since his expression had not loosened much, it also came off as expressionless and cold to Rise.

Rise bit his lips and lowered his head, feeling guilty. "Because... because I look with another man for too long."

This was not a joke. Rise really thought this was the real reason that made Kamille furious, as the other had a possessive nature, especially for him, his personal guide.

Espers always had a tendency to be possessive with their guides, and Kamille was no different.

At last, Kamille showed a slight surprise in his gaze as he heard this. He could also tell... Rise was genuinely guilty; he was only not doing this because he wanted to please Kamille.

He was not the only one surprised. Even Zenos, the one who suddenly became excluded from the conversation, also could not help but dumbly stare at the two.

Zenos was also an Esper, at least on the Earth’s terms, and his senses were naturally advanced, so he could hear the conversation just fine. The two also did not deliberately conceal it as well.

The more he listened, the more Zenos felt like asking...

Wait, where am I? Was these two... in a lover’s quarrel, and he was the culprit? All of a sudden?

Zenos, the second male lead of the novel, unfortunately, had become just an extra at this moment.
