Chapter 100: The Misunderstanding

Chapter 100: The Misunderstanding

Neither of the two cared for Zenos or even the other members that also heard their conversation, fidgeting thinking they stumbled on a big secret, and now they knew too much.

Kamille and Rise were now solely focused on each other, not minding their surroundings.

As Kamille did not respond immediately, Rise suddenly became anxious and lifted his head to meet Kamille’s gaze again. It was not often that one could see such an expression from Rise, someone who barely reacted even when someone died in front of him.

This only proved just how much he took Kamille’s feelings and thoughts more seriously, sometimes even from his own.

Suddenly, Kamille berated himself for acting like he previously did. He sighed heavily; he closed his eyes firmly for half a second before opening them again, automatically meeting that anxious gaze.

Technically, Rise’s words had some truths in them. It was because Rise had stared so fervently at Zenos that made him dissatisfied, wanting to always see those eyes and only look at him with such a gaze.

This was not right. Kamille’s reason told him that it was wrong to have such thoughts. Rise was his own person; he could not monopolize him like that even if he wanted to. He was his guide; he was dying to make him mine, but...

"You’re not wrong." Kamille breathed. He reached out and slowly embraced Rise with his arms.

These thoughts were wrong; Kamille had always wanted to reason through his mind. However...

He’s mine.

Rise’s mine.

Kamille’s thoughts were already overwhelmed with those words; his rationality was always defeated each time. This was not him. No, this had not yet awakened.

And now, that they did...

Kamille’s eyes carried a kind of deepest desire he could not contain. painting darkness in his once calm gaze. This was Rise’s doing. He should take responsibility.

Right...

He should.

Rise had only unleashed the Kamille that even Kamille had never known existed.

"But I’m upset," Kamille lowered his head until his lips were beside Rise’s ears; his lips only mumbled without actual words that came out.

However, Rise had heard it just fine, Kamille’s voice, which was imbued by his mana and carried by the wind so only Rise could hear.

Rise’s eyes widened slightly, tickled by Kamille’s breath.

"You’re not wrong, but I’m upset."

This was clear in Rise’s ears as he combined Kamille’s words. Before he could process them further, Kamille once again continued.

"Please do something..." In an instant, as he murmured those words, Kamille had already buried his face in the crook of Rise’s neck. "Or I’ll go crazy." His words were honest, not ashamed to tell Rise the truth.

Kamille’s words woke up Rise, yet the warmth of Kamille’s breath on his neck made his mind grow hazy again. Certainly, this was not a place for them to be intimate.

He also did not want others to see Kamille in this state. Like Kamille, Rise was also possessive. He wanted to monopolize every part of Kamille. His thoughts were no less worrying than Kamille’s, and in some aspects, they could be considered more intense.

However, the surroundings appeared to always black out with only the two of them as the center when they became fixated on one another.

Please do something or I’ll go crazy.

Once more, Rise’s mind had pieced the words together. This much was indeed concerning, and yet, for some inexplicable reason, Rise’s heart had only settled.

He calmed down, and the anxiety had gradually eased.

Rise dreaded the expressionless and cold Kamille more than the possessive Kamille because this only proved his effect. That his presence was just nothing, that he was not stumbling toward his desired goal.

Was his path becoming crooked? Did he unknowingly disturb something within Kamille that he never did before? For these questions, Rise had no way of confirming other than to suspect that he did.

Did he regret it? Not exactly. From the start... Rise did not care about his process. He was focused on his goal, and by any means necessary... He would achieve that.

Rise’s hand reached out and tangled with Kamille’s dark hair.

He was fully aware that Kamille’s emotions were unstable; if he could see his eyes, there was definitely a hint of crimson hue on his pupils. This was a sign that Kamille’s emotions were not only unstable but practically on the verge of erupting.

Subtly, Rise had activated his guiding wavelength and interacted with Kamille’s, guiding him. On the outside, they only look like embracing after a lovers quarrel and coaxing each other.

However, there was already a guiding session involved. Normally, one could sense such phenomena, especially for Espers, who were sensitive to guiding wavelengths.

This was different. The way Rise guided Kamille was direct and efficient. their own wavelengths seamlessly connected with each other, without any elements being spilled and wasted.

Their perfect compatibility had become useful at this moment. They did not need extra steps, with just a thought, their wavelengths connected perfectly.

Kamille’s sigh could be heard as he relaxed his body, calming himself.

Come to think of it, Rise also had not guided Kamille for a few days now. Out of everyone, one might think Kamille had the capacity and capability to not be guided even for weeks while using his ability.

This was true, but it was before.

It was like how when one already tastes something, they might become addicted to it, wanting to experience it again.

Not to mention, other than the real purpose of the guiding itself, it was also the way to stabilize his emotions, which Rise had messed up.

Rise also closed his eyes and leaned his head on Kamille’s, the two immersed in the guiding session as they embraced each other. Not knowing or not minding just how the witnesses already averted their gazes, feeling that they were invading someone’s privacy!

Zenos lowered his head, his head lightheaded. This... sudden shift made him scratch his head.

Now, the two were embracing each other. He did not even care if they were two men, but... Zenos thought, ’I thought we’d talk about business here! Why... All of a sudden, you’re being so attached to each other!’

And Zenos did not forget that; he seemed to be the one that made these two quarrel. He did not even know what he did! Would they come for him later? Was this time for him to escape?

For a moment, Zenos did consider that.

Not only him, but not far from him, the four cubs had already exchanged glances; Kianna even blushed.

’OMG! I shipped it!’ Slowly, various fanfictions began to emerge inside her mind. Yes, Kianna was a huge fan of reading novels, and ahem... most of all, reading fanfiction from a popular website.

Hayes sighed and suddenly contemplated life. His Guild Leader... was suddenly corrupted by Rise and became so clingy in public.

Sigh, he sighed again.

Just like that, everyone already labeled the two as lovers. This was a misunderstanding, but... Was it really?
