In This Rebirth, The Male Lead Is Mine [BL] -
Chapter 64: Personality
Chapter 64: Personality
Even though the two separated from others, Rise also did not think that the others would be in danger. The gate was only B-rank after all.
The elites of those guilds and the Union would be able to handle any monsters. Rise also noticed their ranks, most of them were A-rank Espers. It was as though they were specifically sent to spy on Kamille and him and what they were up to.
The heat of the public A-rank gate had yet to die down, and there they were challenging a seemingly ordinary B-rank gate. This left many curious gazes to pour upon them.
"This gate is bigger than I thought," Rise commented, looking down below from a cliff, crouching slightly.
The two of them continued walking aimlessly, fighting along the way. This was a B-rank gate, and so the monsters spawning were higher but not much.
Still, to not get bored, they managed to kill everyone that came across them.
Kamille also looked down; the end was endless, he could not even see what was below with the naked eye.
"We deviated a lot," Kamille nodded.
They also got the map, and some important resource locations were clearly stated there. And most of the parts were explored, but sometimes, as a chaotic zone, the space would also change, spawning new locations.
This made the gate in chaotic zones more unpredictable and special; it was not fixed.
Rise’s eyes twinkled, looking down in excitement. He lifted his gaze, meeting Kamille’s.
"Let’s go down, Guild Leader." He looked like an excited kid. Truthfully, he really was.
Rise knew something, but not too much. Reading a book was not accurate after all; some scenes were purposely skipped or explained clearly, and so he did not know where that annoying item was.
And the details he recalled were what made him not care to actively search for it.
’Epsilon treads the path aimlessly, not knowing where to go in such a chaotic space. He had long been separated from others; the gate seemed to be connected with another gate or two.
As though his feet had a mind of their own, or someone was calling him, he kept going. Suddenly, the space became stagnant.
And amidst of it, his gaze stopped at the peculiar item in the middle.
Epsilon felt at that moment, it was the one who called him.
It was his.’
Blerg. Rise almost rolled his eyes and vomited when he remembered that. The item was Epsilon’s, it was his destiny. Of course, he had plot armor surrounding him, thanks to the author, and so one amazing item after another would naturally come his way.
This item was not only amazing, but was necessary and helpful. The biggest example was that item Rise wanted to acquire.
Acquiring that item was not his destiny, and so, he was not hoping for it to just ’call’ him or whatever, just like Epsilon, magically appearing in front of him.
Time, Rise had that luxury for now. What was more, Kamille was with him! Heh, the male lead would cancel out his luck as a villain, probably?
"Your call," Kamille did not refuse.
Rise laughed, and so the two jumped from the cliff, going towards the unknown depths. He laughed and hugged Kamille, letting the wind surround them freely.
He loved his impulsive side sometimes, and he was also not scared. Kamille was with him, anyway.
After a while, their feet touched the ground. Rise pouted a little, unwilling for everything to stop yet. However, he was reminded of that traumatizing swim and so forced himself to stop being unwilling.
He looked around, assessing the surroundings. They actually entered another space, connected to the B-rank gate. The rank was unknown. He also did not know if it was the gate where Epsilon got the item.
"It’s damp." Rise pursed his lips; his shoes instantly became soaked. It was completely dark, but thanks to his senses, his vision was fine. It was not clear, but he could see.
He lowered his head, and streams of water passed through them. His ears also heard water dripping from above, so there might be a waterfall around.
Rise did not even need to guess for long; black fire appeared, floating around them, illuminating the two of them. He glanced at Kamille, who was also observing their surroundings.
Kamille already has Rise, so he can now use his core ability without fear of the side effects. Of course, only with Rise. Not only because he did not want to disclose this ability, but because his emotional changes had not completely disappeared.
He still felt like killing and destroying those he did not like. However, being with Rise, it did not occur.
His indifferent gaze swept around.
"Blood," Kamille licked his lips; the crimson pupils darkened even further. His voice sounded rougher and deeper than usual.
Kamille’s personality slightly changes as if having a split personality disorder. Although the difference was they were both Kamille, just that maybe, his dark side was showing itself? The calm side did not disappear, though, coexisting in harmony.
Odd, contradictory, but fascinating, Rise loved the strange insanity. They were such perfect partners.
Rise crouched slightly wanting to touch the blood, which he initially thought was a water stream but turned out to be a bloodstream. Just as he was about to do so, he was held and an arm wrapped around him, stopping him.
"It’s dirty." The rougher voice tickled Rise’s ears. "Don’t touch anything, are you a kid?"
Kamille reprimanded, his voice carried the haughty countenance of his dark side. Rise did not even agree to call it the dark side, though, since it was all Kamille.
Rise leaned further, enjoying the warmth of Kamille’s broad chest.
"I just want to know if it’s really blood."
Which was a dumb excuse, but he knew this Kamille would eat it up.
Kamille furrowed his brows and clicked his tongue.
"Really like a kid,"
Rise averted his gaze, lowering his head to hide the smile on his lips, almost laughing. Though he knew Kamille would reprimand him after he returned to his normal self, Rise always could not stop his playful side from hoodwinking this Kamille.
Kamille then crouched and touched the blood, showing Rise.
"It’s blood." Kamille’s crimson eyes flickered, "I can smell it even." Desire suddenly filled his eyes, his thoughts were immediately interrupted by Rise.
Rise poked his cheek. "Don’t taste it, it’s dirty."
Kamille paused, looked up, and suddenly flared up in anger.
"What do you think of me? A beggar?" He glared at Rise, "I won’t drink suspicious blood."
Rise seemed unconvinced, only to be hit unexpectedly.
A surprise gasped left his throat, his eyes widening.
Kamille hit his ass, as though reprimanding a child. He really spanked him!
