In This Rebirth, The Male Lead Is Mine [BL] -
Chapter 138: Errors
Chapter 138: Errors
"Uhm, Guild Leader..." A cautious voice rang, adjusting his glasses slightly. He lowered his gaze as Kamille glanced at him with an expression that could not be read.
Despite his nervousness, he continued. "The second party should have arrived inside by now."
Each Guild could send a couple or more parties at intervals. Since the tension was intensifying, the federation might not impose any entry restrictions for now.
"It’s... It’s time for us to return." Hayes trailed off. For some reason, even if Kamille always had this slightly unapproachable demeanor, Hayes had grown used to it over the years. However, he felt a different vibe from his Guild Leader.
Hayes turned and looked to the side, at the closed door. He adjusted his glasses again, feeling anxious. What was in front of them was Rise’s room, where Rise and Thalia were alone.
"Ahem," Hayes cleared his throat and began speaking again, trying to compose himself. "We’re about to reach the limit of what we could handle."
That was the most important reason for this return. They did not have a Guide with them, and the members were constantly fighting, using their abilities.
Espers needed to be guided. They needed a Guide and so this return was necessary.
Kamille stared at the closed door with an impassive face, making Hayes wonder if he was even listening to what he was saying.
"Also," Hayes glanced at the closed door before shifting again to his Guild Leader, brazing himself and taking a deep breath. "Gu... Guild Leader Thalia and the others too... They need immediate guiding."
Most of their physical injuries were almost healed, having been personally supervised by the healers of the Lionheart Clan, but as Espers, the mana toxin in their bodies had yet to be purified. There were still risks that might lead to more critical complications, such as the berserk stage, especially as their emotional state was not yet healed.
Kamille slowly withdrew his gaze at the door and finally turned to Hayes once more. Hayes subconsciously averted his gaze, choosing to lower his head and wait for the response.
"You look stiff," Kamille started, making Hayes’ lips twitched. His mind almost complained, but he respected his Guild Leader so much that he could not.
Kamille did glance at the door before he stood. "Get ready to leave."
He only said that as he already set off somewhere, Hayes hesitated for a moment whether he would follow or not, but in the end, he could only bowed his head, seeing his Guild Leader off respectfully.
A minute later, he straightened and wiped the bead of sweat on his forehead, sighing. He adjusted his glasses again and turned at the door.
"Rise... you really..."
Hayes paused and almost cried. Please just return and appease the Guild Leader! I’m begging you!
Kamille did not know what was on Hayes’ mind, and things weren’t that hopeless. He was lost in thought in the way that before he realized, he was back again to the Lionheart Clan Ancestral Hall, which was also an unknown gate.
His emotions were not as chaotic, and he might be possessive, but he usually could put them in check. If not, how could he suggest for Rise and Thalia to talk alone even though Rise did not mind him being there?
Kamille just knew... He should not be there. Some things he could not force, and most of them were around and related to Rise.
Where did things begin to change?
Kamille bit the inside of his cheek, feeling absurd at his question. The answer was obvious. Everything started when he met Rise. His emotions and mind, the situation... Everything was changing in a direction he could not predict.
[The Unknown Gate of Time]
Kamille saw the label again, his gaze seeing through everything at every crook and cranny. However, they were mostly unrecognizable. If he pushed it, Kamille could see more, but he did not feel the need to do that.
"She changed." Kamille muttered to himself, his feet continuing to the walk further inside.
Kamille furrowed his brows before he tried to relax. His steps hastened, and he was also begging to get agitated as well. Actually, Rise had never guided him yet, as the other was unconscious for a week, and then a lot happened that it just did not cross their minds. They did kiss once, but there was no guiding involved.
A week that Rise was unconscious, it was not that Kamille did nothing; he also swept some gates that popped out around teh city due to the density of mana, producing monsters left and right.
Some principles that applied in their world did not apply to this world. As the space barriers of the dimensions continued to get thin, there were no problems for most monsters to get through the gate even without the set limit for a gate to break.
He had never needed to be deeply guided before, but why, when Rise arrived, Kamille found himself not getting used to the heavy sensation of accumulating mana toxins inside his body?
"I’ve become spoiled." Kamille let out a soft chuckle, recalling how Rise said he was spoiling him when in reality, it was the opposite.
His expression soon returned to calmness, ignoring teh discomfort of his body and the possessive desire to return to Rise’s side.
There was something he needed in this place.
Thalia had changed.
Not just her demeanor.
[Unrecorded]
Kamille sped up; his gaze flickered at that memory.
He also saw that term again, which he only saw when he first met Rise. The second time was meeting that massive flesh at the public gate. And now, another Unrecorded had arrived.
He was sure... Thalia did not have that label before. She was still a normal childhood friend, a bit loud, but that was it. Now, he could not help but pay attention to her more and to the changes she would create with Rise.
Soon, he stopped. His gaze wandered and landed at the huge magic circle at the center.
He paused, staring at it. He had a bad impression of this place, but he knew that some of his questions would be answered in this place. Kamille’s pupils then turned deep gray; his gaze became sharp as the unknown labels began to appear.
[Error]
[Error]
Kamille tugged a small smile; the error messages almost filled his vision, and the more he approached the magic circle, the error messages became dark red.
Until... It changed as he stood at the magic circle.
The error messages flickered and flashed like a broken screen until as though something wanted to wipe them all off.
"I want to ask a question." Kamille looked down at the magic circle, as though he were looking at some entity below it.
The error stopped, but no one responded.
Kamille did not feel surprised; instead, his lips lifted in a humorless smile. Slowly, his pupils turned crimson, and the surroundings turned dark in an instant as the black fire then emerged, surrounding the whole magic circle.
He inputted his mana into it. His own mana was more than enough for it to be activated, but it did not lit up like that one time.
This did not faze Kamille, the smile did not leave his lips, sinister and threatening. What he was doing was dangerous; his body seemed to forget the feeling of this heavy feeling when Rise was still not on his side.
However, he only put a lot more mana into it; his crimson pupils glowed in an alarming red.
"Will you answer me here or..." Kamille’s smile faded, his gaze flickered with crimson light, and his body exuded a killing intent as the black fire around seemed to howl in a dangerous anticipation.
"I will pull you... Wherever you’re hiding," Kamille growled, his voice tinged with firm threat, and that was not mere threat.
Black veins appeared at Kamille’s neck as they throbbed, creating a rather horrifying look. In his arms, new tattoos emerged; they appeared slowly until they almost covered his arms. The tattoos seemed abstract, without a clear image, but one could not look at them for long as though one would be corrupted and devoured by them.
Impatience was written in Kamille’s expression; he was ever the calmest one with this side. Kamille’s real form.
Just as he was about to take action, new messages appeared in his vision.
[You’re here.]
[You should not be here.]
[Yet.]
[You&#$error error]
The words kept coming, but they only had errors on them.
Kamille calmed down slighly, but his gaze still got a threatening crimson hue.
"When?" Kamille did not make a fuss despite being in this form. "When was the right time?"
The screen flickered again as though the signal was about to be cut off. Kamille only emotionlessly put mana into the magic circle, even though it was rejecting his mana.
[You#%errorj@^(*]
Kamille frowned, about to snap, but more readable content appeared.
[At his pace.]
His? Who? Rise? Or another?
[...it will only take... three years.]
The screen flickered, and then the dark red error appeared before it was then erased, replaced by readable content.
[H... e will descend.]
[Every... thi...ng... w,ill... st...art.]
[You#%errorj#%^@]
[Pl, an, n,ow.]
