Chapter 137: Different Parts (3)

Some of the messages came from the gates, but most of them were in the federation. A particular message made him pause; he read them carefully.

"Tell them to evacuate." He calmly spoke as he proceeded after hearing the acknowledgment. He continued, reading the reports before giving his instructions.

A while later, the light flashed at the side where something was installed, similar to the entrance of a gate. As the light faded, two figures appeared.

"Dino," the newcomer called; his gaze was sharp, and his demeanor also told of his high status. However, in this camp, he had to lower his presence. "Those council brats have been active lately, especially Ned."

Ned was the one who noticed Rise ransacking a lot of small bases in the underworld.

"The Council is beginning to notice too," he continued. What he was saying was alarming, but he did not seem particularly worried in the slightest, only reporting them.

Dino looked at him; his demeanor mellowed down since he was not talking to a subordinate anymore. "I already know, Cobbin."

Cobbin clicked his tongue, seemingly displeased for Dino calling his name, but unlike the first time, he did not voice them. In this camp, they were almost in the same position, with Dino having the advantage of personally reporting to their master.

Soon, few figures appeared.

"Wow, this teleportation gate always amazed me." A rather arrogant and playful tone resounded, looking at the gate before sweeping his gaze. "No, everything here... It feels like we’re in the future."

Everyone could not help but agree.

Every device and artifact that their organization had was years ahead of the current federation, monopolizing future revolutionary items. Rise made sure to grab them as his. While it was possible for the federation to acquire them at other gates, they were ahead, and that was important.

The only flaw they had was they were too small and still a fledging organization compared to the giants like the guilds, Union, and the Underground World.

However, with time, they could accumulate power faster than the three combined having Rise as their master.

Dino looked at everyone and finally could not help but puff up his chest, proud of who he had become for a couple of months since he met Rise.

"Since, we’re all here, the meeting will start."

The first official meeting of the executives without their master has now started.

As they were having a meeting, another group entered a small building.

"Spread out, look out for traps!" A deep voice sounded; his full beard was prominent. Ned, an elite of the underground organization.

"Everything is clear." Everyone reported after a while.

Looking around, Ned frowned. In fact, it was so clear that he even doubted his informant if this was the right place. It was too clean, without any traces of that hidden organization at all.

Ned looked around, his gaze scrutinizing everything, and the crease in the space between his brows only became deeper.

"They left... so quickly?" Ned could not help but feel so alarmed. How did they manage to know the raid he would conduct? He looked at the people with him; was it possible there was a traitor in their midst?

Ned sighed, massaging his brows. This was giving him a headache. This was also not the first time this happened; the people they were about to raid were nowhere to be found when they arrived.

"Look for any escape routes!" He could only instruct, although that might not give him any clues just like the other locations.

Who were they fighting against? He had no idea. They were too mysterious, like a ghost. And they could not bribe anyone at all; it was as though anyone related to this organization was too loyal, not one dared to release the news?

He was even doubting it was also a hidden underground organization. Most wild Espers did not have loyalty at all, the reason they called that term in the first place.

Just as he was in deep thought, his secretary, Nina, was already running towards him before a whisper reached his ears.

"The war started. The council is calling for an assembly."

Ned only frowned harder. Everything was truly a mess.

Not only him, but the others were thinking the same.

At the Union headquarters, the General of the Esper Union was once again standing in the podium, but this time the audience was the high-ranking members of the Union and the federation.

"The news just arrived." His expression was composed, but his tone was somber and alert. He looked at the participants and continued with a heavy voice, giving an unsettling atmosphere. "The war started..."

He took a deep breath, and the general seemed taken aback by this sudden news as well. "Our side... started it."

Unsurprisingly, everyone gasped, and shock and anger were also written on their faces. It was as if once they knew who the bastards started the war, they would declare them as national criminals!

Everyone here knew a war was inevitable; it also had to happen, and only then would they have their bigger benefits. However, who started it was a big factor in the bigger picture. They did not want to start the war; otherwise, future plans to take over the gate would be a compromise. Fighting back was different than being labeled as the invader, although they technically were.

For the federation, the gate was still a gate, even if it was another world like the Earth, and it was even better.

Now, everything was messed up, and countermeasures had to be made.

The similar meetings were happening in other guilds, the top or the small ones. The federation was shaken, just like how the other world was having a field day for the upcoming war.

On the ground floor of a huge citadel, the proud headquarters of one of the most important clans of this world, the Silverfeather Clan.

A huge roundtable was laid out, and high chairs were encircled around. The figures attending this meeting would make this world fall in awe and terror, and the Three Nations would become alert.

The leader of the clans was here, with only the exception of a few, being tied up with their own city and only sending their representatives and some... Rise himself scratched on the lists.

Clans were the more loyal bunch for this world, but that did not mean they were immune to temptations of the beings beyond the gate. It was truly rare, but it was possible to happen.

Standing was the current prophet of the Silverfeater Clan, Halwyn.

"This meeting involves the future of our world..." Everyone became serious. "And also, the war that will happen."

Halwyn’s hair then floated, her gaze flickering.

"For this meeting, I’ll personally glimpse through the fate!"

Everyone instinctively straightened their posture. For the prophet to do this... Nothing must go wrong!

The fate of their world and themselves were on the line.
