Chapter 136: Different Parts (2)

Chapter 136: Different Parts (2)

Hayes was thinking too much. Kamille was not petty... maybe.

Rise already sensed the hot gaze coming from behind him, which only came from one person, as he immediately came to his senses. Although he did not push Thalia, he finally withdrew the embrace.

He looked behind him, giving a sweet smile, trying to downplay what happened. To his surprise, Kamille neither responds positively nor negatively, continuing to watch them with interest.

Rise could only sigh inside and made sure to make it up to his Guild Leader later. In some parts, he knew how unreasonable Kamille could be sometimes.

Thalia also recovered to her emotional state. After that heartfelt reunion, the room entered a state of awkward silence for a moment. Before Rise broke them and smiled at everyone.

"Did everyone already ate?"

And anyone was forced to answer no, and so they then had a feast. Rise, having diverted the attention and getting to eat the food at the same time, was truly the winner.

Not far away from here, a commotion started and became the ignition of an already inevitable war.

A scream of a woman resounded in the whole place, her eyes shrank in terror.

"No..." a man spoke, shaking his head, planning to defend himself. Despite that, the body was in front of him, and someone witnessed him killing the body.

"Owen!" Someone called him, entering the private room, pausing at the scene that greeted him. "Man, what the heck?" A few figures also arrived; they looked like the hunting party that their guild sent to the gate.

They also could not help but pause; shock filled their gaze. They look with an inquiring gaze at the man called Owen, who obviously has a hand in this incident.

Even his hand still had the blood of the native. The staff of the inn was now on the floor, shivering.

"What did you do, Owen?" An authoritative voice man asked him, making Owen flinch. His gaze slowly turned to the side, looking at their captain.

"I-I didn’t know..." He repeatedly shook his head, shaken by what he did. He looked confusingly at his hand, dripping with blood, and then shifted at the man on the ground, which... he killed.

He killed. Owen still shook his head, his expression twisting, wanting to remember what happened. However, he still could not remember how he killed the man or why he killed him.

No... Owen felt like...

"Owen! What the hell did you do?" A member held his collar, furious. "You already know the delicate situation we’re in!"

Everyone was frustrated. The Third Nations were only waiting for an opportunity to start the war, and their side was the same. And they could not believe they would be the fuse of the war.

Owen still could not respond; his mind was getting chaotic, searching for the memories. His mind was blank; nothing was coming to his mind.

"Stop it!" A woman of the party interfered, pulling them apart. "Owen can’t do that! He... He’s too kind for that."

However, saying he was timid and naive would be the most accurate thing to say. In fact, in their group, the most hotheaded and the most likely to kill the native was the one holding Owen’s collar.

"I didn’t do it! Really..." Owen looked at his party members; doubt but also confusion were written on their faces. "It’s like... It’s like..." Owen paused, his lips trembling from both uncertainty and fear of the unknown.

He whispered; horror filled his voice, sending a shiver down everyone’s spine.

"...someone took over my body."

Owen had gaps in his memory, and he was like in a vivid dream, and before he knew it, the scene earlier was what greeted him after waking up without any memory of what truly happened.

"But..." Their captain also became hesitant, unable to truly believe what Owen was saying, but he also knew Owen’s character, making him conflicted.

Before he could finish, what they truly feared was already happening. A commotion was already happening outside, wanting to enter the room as though it was all planned.

They looked at each other, and everyone read the same decision in their gazes except the still shaken Owen.

They had to escape! The war would happen anyway, and they should not be caught! Activating their abilities, the party left by using the window as screams resounding outside.

The party did not care anymore about the natvies or who they would be implicating on as they sped up.

The furious natives began taking a chase; the real war was about to erupt.

At the corner of the inn, sat a man drinking. While a lot of people began to leave and some helped chase the enemies, there were still some natives that did not bother to know what the commotion was about, so his figure was not too conspicuous.

He only glanced at the side before he continued drinking. After a while, he lowered his gaze and produced a small device, inputting some mana, and a message was delivered in an instant.

"It started. The incident happened as expected."

The message was not too clear, and it had to be deciphered even with such few words and sentences, but considering where this message would go, this had to be expected.

After saying that, the man relaxed, and he leaned on his seat.

Every little thing made him and everyone fear their master more than the seed in their hearts.

On the other side of the message, a man stood up when one of the crystals blink. He then signaled as another man deciphered the message.

The man then read it with his gaze before he then looked at the side; the other crystals also began blinking. He then sighed before a look of determination filled his gaze a couple of seconds later.

"Master’s plan is set in motion smoothly." He murmured, enough for the others in the room to hear. They also nodded firmly; the same determination could be seen in their gazes.

Rise lucked out; actually, his subordinates were more competent than he imagined. Or maybe his approach really did work.

Everyone here worked for Rise’s plan but also... for their own future.
