Chapter 134: Collar

Thalia’s outburst nearly made Hayes and Sheena dropped their jaw from shock. Afterward, they grew confused. They looked each other and the same emotion were reflected in each other’s gazes.

"G-Guild Leader." Sheena finally called Thalia once more, trying to catch her attention. "What did... you say?"

She was pretty sure that Thalia shouted something after she called for Rise, and she looked angry too! However, for some reason, she was unable to hear it as though her ears or mind had malfunctioned at that exact time.

And by the look of it, she was not the only one who experienced the same thing. Hayes also heard none of it. It was strange as they were Espers and sensitive about things like this.

Thalia blinked; anger was still evident in her gaze as she turned to the side and locked gaze with Sheena. She stared at her for a few seconds; the anger subsided slightly. Her gaze then turned to Hayes, and she looked at him for a few seconds.

Thalia did not say anything for a while; her gaze only observed the surroundings for a bit and also her members, who were sleeping in their beds.

Sheena and Hayes did not disturb her.

Minutes later, Thalia had calmed down; her ethereal features had a hint of fragility because her injury seemed to lead others to instinctively take care of her.

Yet, at the same time... Thalia’s aura was a bit different. Sheena also sensed some disconcerting feelings that came from her own Guild Leader.

This was someone she had known for a few years, but she could not figure out what exactly was different.

"Guild Leader?" Sheena cautiously called once more, which did not make sense as Thalia was always an approachable leader, but she could not help but do so.

"Ah." Thalia nodded after blinking, as though she realized something. She leaned at the headboard and looked at Sheena in the eye. "Do you know where it is... Rise Lee now?"

Thalia’s tone showed a subtle hope and uncertainty mixed together.

Sheena grew increasingly puzzled; Thalia had never called Rise with such tone, usually she could not even call Rise’s name directly.

Still, she answered. "He’s with Guild Leader Kamille to find out what truly happened to us." Sheena’s tone even wavered slightly, thinking of the members that were left behind.

Thalia, rather than focusing on that as if she had already forgotten, only sighed with relief. Her eyes did tear up slightly, but it was not due to fear or despair that one who experienced a traumatic incident should have. Instead, it seemed like tears of joy.

"Fortunately..." Thalia mumbled, and some of them were just incoherent sounds once more when they finally reached Hayes and Shenna’s ears.

Hayes and Sheena subconsciously looked at each other again, truly confused about what was happening and the strange thing that happened again.

In Hayes’s case, he figured it out already.

It seemed it was ’censored’ yet again. After all, he experienced the same thing with Rise, being the number one experimental subject of Rise to things related to the plot.

And speaking of plot, Rise and Kamille were already hastening their steps to the deeper part of the gate. Rise wanted to get this over with; he had a lot of things to do.

What happened to Thalia, only solidified his theory that things were about to change. He could not rely on his memory alone. His existence was an anomaly, but that did not mean there were not others who were the same anomaly as he was.

He could not be complacent at all.

"Guild Leader," Rise was already running at full speed, not clinging anymore at Kamille as he was already in his combat mode. He knew how to place things in the right situations.

Kamille turned to him, asking with his gaze.

Rise winked. "Can I request? Let’s speed up more!"

As he said that, he already offered his hand, which Kamille accepted as the two were practically flying, running at full speed. The monsters they encountered were swept away.

Rise’s expression then turned serious. Using the speed, he made sure to make the forcefield point in one direction. Kamille also helped him, making sure that Rise knew he had someone on his back.

The familiar halls, which he had already ruined by his own body smashing everywhere before finally greeted him, and the same monster at the feet of a throne with someone sitting on it.

Rise licked his lips and laughed maliciously. Using the wind that Kamille let him borrow, he ran without a break, ignoring the look of surprise in Danich’s bastard face.

He landed at the back of the huge beast he also killed before, Danich’s precious pet. The impact was not small, and he also had his forcefield at full capacity, compressed in one area; its destructive power was only bear by the monster.

It was to no surprise that when Rise set foot on the ground, the huge monster disintegrated into pieces, only leaving a pool of blood under his feet. Not even leaving any chances to whimper as its last breath.

It died instantly before even Danich reacted to the intruder. His expression immediately twisted, his aura skyrocketing.

Rise only landed gracefully, smiling provokingly, acting like meeting his old friend. Technically, it was his former ’owner’, right?

"Oops, sorry." Rise apologized, obviously not serious.

"Hum---" Before he could finish, Rise was already in front of him, his eyes bright and sinister, and the devious smile playing on his lips would send everyone’s spine a shiver.

"I know... I’m human." Rise smiled and stood at his huge shoulders, holding the massive horns in his hands.

Danich’s gaze shrank, stunned by Rise’s swift movements; he barely kept up. Rise’s every action right now was buffed by his one and only Guild Leader, of course.

Rise’s smile widened, tightly gripping the horns as he looked down at those dilated pupils.

"And you’re a monster." Rise’s expression hardened and his pupils also darkened, using so much force as he pulled the two horns.

"AHHHH! Human!" Danich finally screamed in a sudden tormenting pain from his horns being pulled out. his hands reached out, but he only held a piercing air, sharp enough to injure his palms.

Not far away from him, just before Kamille, Rise stood holding the two horns in his hands. He waved it and smirked provokingly.

"Are you looking for this by any chance?"

Danich paused slightly before a piercing shriek echoed; the surrounding space was immemdiately destroyed, the ground shook, and the walls were almost disintegrating.

Danich’s eyes became bloodshot as he stood from the throne; the deaths of his precious were forgotten, furious at this disrespect by the insignificant human.

He did not even notice Kamille, and his whole attention was focused solely on the bold human before him, wanting to tear him into pieces.

"Human..." Danich’s deep voice was as unpleasant as ever. His build was once again transforming into his original form.

Rise merely smiled; he jumped as he levitated through the air, his movements swift and soft. His eyes lit up at this convenience, laughing loudly through the air.

In no time, he was already in front of Danich again. He did not wait for anything or watch dumbly as he transformed, only dumb protagonists waited for villains to transformed fully or use their ultimate move.

Rise was a villain!

"AHHH! You... pest!" The noble was once again letting out a painful scream; his shoulders had begun bleeding, and the transformation was stopped because of the distraction.

Rise’s eyes glinted with glee; bloodlust lingered as he licked his lips, which were splattered by Danich’s blood. He then pulled out again the horn that he stabbed at Danich’s shoulder, using the other’s horn as the weapon to hurt him!

He then spat out the same blood before stabbing the same horns once more to the other’s shoulders, earning a few shrieks as the body moved, hands flailing around trying to catch Rise.

Danich could not do so, however. Rise had the master of wind by his side! Rise became even more bold and confident of this. If he was alone, there was no way he could defeat Danich, much less play around like this.

None of that was of concern anymore. Rise was not alone! He had the powerful Kamille Han standing at his back! Rise’s lips proudly hooked up, feeling so gratified.

Each time that he stabbed Danich, Rise would avoid the arms that were reaching out to him before pulling out the horns once more, only to stab them yet again.

It was like he was playing a stabbing game. Rise changed the game halfway since smashing the game caused too many disruptions, and Danich was heavy!

This much was enjoyable as well.

Danich’s body was already soaked with his own blood; his weakness was also apparent as his horns were a critical journey, something Rise had already known, so he made sure to target this first.

While Danich was a Count, they also had their rank amongst them. Someone with a clear weakness as Danich and being exiled to gates spoke of his status among nobles. He was a count, but his abilities were barely a count.

Holding the horns as he stood at the throne, blocking the escape route and also to get one thing.

"Don’t be so high and mighty," Rise spoke with a crude smile on his lips. "Otherwise, why are you imprisoned in this so-called gate?"

Danich’s expression darkened further; his aura shot up, but the anger was already clouding his mind from making rational decisions. And that was Rise’s cue...

Before Danich could make a move, his huge body was preventing him from doing a much faster body reaction than his thoughts. Rise was already floating in front of him again as a lock sounded.

Rise grinned.

"Looks like the situation is reversed, huh?"

The same collar was now on Danich’s neck.
