Chapter 133: Wake Up
Chapter 133: Wake Up
Rise stared at the horn and then threw it to the side. He was still weak, so he leaned at the throne, which was now broken; the other half was gone.
"He escaped." Kamille clicked his tongue as Rise’s gaze landed on him. While he seemed pissed, his demeanor did not intend to pursue either. He only looked at the throne and the place where Danich disappeared.
Rise stared at him, finding him odd, but at the same time, he looked cool and attractive.
Was he here to rescue him, or was it a mere coincidence?
"You’re curious?" Kamille asked; his whole attention was now on Rise. He had a slight smirk on his face, looking down at the other.
Ah, this was Guild Leader Han’s other personality. Technically, this was the first one he met.
Rise merely nodded his head as he could not speak yet. He was truly curious why Kamille Han was here. Of course, he was also grateful.
"He..." Kamille paused then shook his head, showing a grin. "I mean, I’m not an ungrateful person."
Kamille on his extreme side was also quite a talkative one and told the whole story.
Basically, after the elixir took effect and Kamille calmed down, he found out or sensed that it truly was an elixir that sped up one’s recovery. Kamille did not want to owe someone a debt, and so after a few days and he recovered fully, he sought for Rise.
However, Rise had always been a loner, and so he did not manage to find him, and asking anyone in the Union did not help. Kamille also began to take over some affairs in his guild, and so he returned to Earth, and a few weeks had gone by.
When it was nearly a month, Kamille returned to this gate and inquired again about Rise, but the other was still nowhere to be found. Since it had only been almost a month, the Union seemed to think of it as Rise had played around on the gates without remembering the time.
Kamille also did not have a good impression of Rise; coupled with his bad reputation, he seemed to think that Rise might truly be stuck in a gate playing around.
However, he did not feel at ease, deciding to find Rise himself. He did not say what method it was; Rise could not guess, but it was probably a mythical skill he was not privy to.
Kamille almost found Rise, but the trail stopped.
"You disappeared," Kamille, with his glowing crimson pupils, stared deeply at Rise. "I only found you a few days later and had to wait in the vicinity where you disappeared."
Kamille also sounded confused by this fact. Rise could not interrupt and so could only listen. However, he could deduce what happened afterward. After it was Danich’s time to influence the outside world, Kamille finally saw that opportunity.
"Everything is weird," Kamille mumbled and then looked at Rise, who looked so miserable, but at the same time, he looked well for some reason. His physical body had so many wounds, but his gaze was still clear.
"You’re the strangest," Kamille whispered, frowning as though Rise was the biggest mystery he encountered in his life. He blinked as gradually his pupils started changing, returning to their beautiful hazel ones. Accompanying it was his personality changing or returning to the real one.
"You always survived." Rise heard that as Kamille slowly approached Rise and lifted him. His black coat was immediately tainted by Rise’s blood.
Rise also agreed. He was still alive after all that, even though he was extremely surprised. He only realized later what Kamille meant by this.
Kamille holding Rise walked towards the exit, if that was the exit. Rise swallowed and began writing again. This time, at Kamille’s chest.
Why did you save me?
He stared at Kamille’s face intently as he waited for the answer.
"I don’t want to owe anyone." Kamille’s answer was just like a repeat of what he said earlier.
Rise only asked again since he was not too satisfied with that answer.
That’s it?
Rise persisted.
Kamille paused and glanced at him before nodding his head and continuing.
I don’t believe you. Rise pursed his lips, not convinced.
Kamille only frowned but did not respond this time. Seriously, if he could only speak, he already annoyed Kamille until he provided a satisfaction answer.
They remained silent at that time, drawing a circle at Kamille’s chest. It made Kamille’s lips to twitched somewhat, possibly in between stopping Rise and letting him.
In the end, he only let Rise, possibly thinking that he was already wounded and he had a debt to pay.
Rise stared at Kamille’s handsome face, finding him increasingly attractive. He could not help but smile, even with how much his lips hurt; the smile did not fade.
Oh, his heart also could not stop pounding since earlier. Rise had never been treated this way—someone tolerating him this much. Most of the time, he also never let others touch him, but he did not find Kamille’s touch unpleasant.
At that time, Rise was probably already feeling a little bit of admiration or a crush on Kamille, but he did not realize it yet. He did not have any experience in this aspect; he also did not care about it before.
Still, the way he acted with Kamille had a sudden shift, at least.
Wait.
He suddenly wrote as he realized or remembered something.
"What is it?"
Rise slowly wrote, feeling guilty.
The horn. We left it.
Kamille stopped in his tracks and looked at Rise with a ’are you kidding me’ look. Rise did not speak; well, he could not. He did not respond even with his expression, only having a staring contest.
Kamille suddenly let out a sigh; he seemed to think about what mess he was caught into. Rise almost giggled at the sight, if not for his own difficulty in letting out such a sound.
The other pondered, but in the end, his sense of duty or responsibility won. He started to walk back. Rise’s request was then fulfilled for the first time... and only one of many from then on.
Rise blinked and snapped to the present, laughing by that memory. His nervousness also subsided as they trailed further through the familiar path.
His experience was not a good one; he sometimes dreaded his hardship and thought of some possibilities. What if Kamille did not come? Or retracing a bit further, what if he did not help Kamille and let his mischievous side win?
"Why are you laughing?" Kamille’s brow lifted, puzzled by this sudden reaction.
Rise stared at his Guild Leader for a few seconds before he leaned and tightened his grip on his arm.
"I’m laughing because I just remembered a dumb decision I had before."
That was truly a dumb decision, the first seeking death of his that truly almost landed him with certain death. However... That experience also brought them closer.
"It ended well though..." Rise smiled, giving a knowing smile, which only made Kamille’s confusion and interest to increase.
Rise laughed at that. In any case, Riise planned to become even more interesting, so Kamille would only try to figure him out, never going to be bored in the puzzle called Rise Lee.
The familiar goosebumps began to crawl down his spine. Rise merely smiled with excitement at that. His eyes gave a piercing gleam as he looked at the darkness ahead of him.
"Guild Leader..." Rise smiled, but it was cold and dark. "Just lend me a hand..." he looked up and whispered with unsettling calmness. "I’ll just play a smashing game."
Kamille was first stunned by the request, more so by his tone and expression. He quickly recovered and nodded, patting Rise’s hand.
"Play at your heart’s content." He also whispered, a reassuring one, giving off a reliable backer.
Rise’s coldness faded slightly, and he smiled sweetly, nodding like a child. "I will."
Rise looked paused and looked at the darkness.
You escaped the first time, and we had to hunt you, you monster... but you won’t be let off easy this time.
This time, Rise was not the only one hurt... Someone dear to him was also harmed.
Danich, you fucker, I’ll make taste the same bitter medicine.
Just as the two were about to confront Danich, earlier than the last timeline, at the Lionheart Clan City, Thalia finally woke up.
Out of all the five members that were rescued, she was the last one who woke up. Her fingers moved first, before her eyelids twitched.
"G-Guild Leader!" Shenna’s voice sounded in the whole room, though just in a low voice, as though afraid to disturb Thalia.
Hayes, who was also currently inside, almost jumped up in his seat as he also noticed these little movements, but he too did not voice out the surprise.
They only waited and gradually, Thalia’s eyes opened, and she stared blankly at the ceiling for a few seconds. Sensing the other’s presence, she slowly landed her gaze at Sheena and Hayes, looking at her with anticipation.
"Guild... Leader?" Sheena cautiously called.
Thalia only blinked, as though familiarizing herself with the surroundings, not fully awake. A second later, her eyes widened, and she sat up so fast that Sheena’s heart almost jumped out of her chest, so afraid that her Guild Leader’s injuries would open.
Some of the wounds were not completely healed.
Thinking that Thalia remembered the unfortunate members, Sheena also teared up and was about to say a word but immediately paused when Thalia called out a name.
"Rise!" Thalia called, her eyes widening, roaming around, as though trying to find Rise. "Where is he? No, I have to come and get him!"
Thalia then gritted her teeth; anger filled her beautiful eyes. "Epsilon!"
