Chapter 129: Emotion
Chapter 129: Emotion
Rise was not an overly emotional person. He rarely cried, or that he almost never cried. Even when he was being smashed all over the place and that his whole body was screaming pain, he did not even shed tears once.
He was quite tough, both emotionally and physically.
However, sometimes there was a part of him that seemed not included in this point. His experience from before gave him a deeper scar than he would have liked.
"Damn." Rise bit his lips, and he wanted to wipe his tears and hold them back. They were uncontrollable, soaking his already blood-soaked face with tears.
I hate this.
He hated being vulnerable. He despised being weak.
What he was crying for seemed trivial, but Rise found that so pressing he preferred dying brutally over dying because of starvation.
"The pet is crying?" An annoying deep voice rang, which made Rise flinch. No, he was not scared, but more like he did not want this abhorrent monster to see his vulnerable side.
The light dimmed further as someone crouched just beside him.
"Why?" The man inquired, or he could start calling him, Danich. This man introduced himself, saying he had to know his ’master’s’ name.
Rise as always did not respond. Even more so now that he was crying because of hunger. He felt like going insane from hunger.
"What do you want, pet?" The man, Danich, teased. His gaze turned ferocious, loving every bit of Rise’s despair. He had not seen that after he tortured the human for days, but it finally appeared!
Rise hiccuped as he closed his eyes firmly, hoping the tears would stop that way. Of course, it did not.
He almost cursed out loud if he could. Rise did not want to do so since his jaw had already dislocated and he might only voice out some incoherent sounds that way.
Rise was aware that Danich was only teasing him since there was no way he did not know what he was crying about. In fact, Rise had begun asking for food since a few days prior to his breakdown.
Even just a day of hunger, Rise’s mind would start becoming a mess, feeling uncomfortable.
"Do you want to eat, pet?" Danich teased, beginning to roughly touch Rise’s skin or more like the wounds he created, pressing or pinching them to satisfy his sadistic nature.
Rise’s face twisted from pain, but it was overlooked by his hunger and that offer. He opened his bloodshot eyes and looked at Danich.
Danich’s face twitched with a devious smile, his tone bewitching.
"Do you want to eat, my obedient pet?" Again, he inquired.
His face was too ugly and demonic in Rise’s vision, but his pride was thrown aside for a moment. He was too hungry to care.
Slowly, he nodded his head. Rise was an arrogant person, but if necessary, he could press down those thoughts, especially about the things that were beneficial to him.
Rise was shameless, and that also included various ways.
He gritted his teeth and forced himself to at least move until he was on all fours. His eyes filled with tears, and he looked expectant at Danich.
Fuck pride! Fuck all of it.
Rise then gently nudged his head at Danich’s hand, like how a cat would, becoming affectionate. He hated the man, but he was the one that could give him food.
For once, he would act like a pet.
The man stared at him and the sudden actions he took. Gradually, the man’s eyes lit up as his loud laughter reverberated in the whole place, the surrounding space becoming disturbed once more.
Rise’s lips twitched as another round of wounds appeared on his already battered body as the result of this laugh. Since he did not have any barriers around him anymore, his body was more than vulnerable to such pressure.
He ignored the pain as always and continued giving an affectionate nudge.
"How obedient," Danich smiled maliciously and cupped Rise’s face with one hand roughly. "The pet’s meal time is here."
Rise’s heart skipped a beat and nodded, as he began licking the man’s hand. He wanted to kill him, but as he could not do so, he would become his pet first for the food.
Soon, the food was placed in front of Rise.
"Eat, my obedient pet."
Rise looked at the food, the so-called food. He sighed; of course, he knew that this man would not give him decent human food. Maybe he should become grateful as the man did not give a literal human as food.
The monster meat, which still had the poisonous blood dripping from it, was presented at Rise. It was still raw and fresh, dying just a few seconds ago. He gulped and hesitated, but the hunger won.
He did not care about the poison or that it was disgusting. He was starving. His trembling hands took them as he slowly put them in his mouth and munched them.
The corrosive poison almost burned his already damaged tongue, but he continued munching and swallowing them. His tears began dripping down his cheeks again, both from pain and the idea that he was not about to be full.
He did not mind just how Danich was watching him amusingly and continued eating, not even chewing properly before swallowing them. He also ignored the heated feeling it brought as the poison finally made his stomach grumble in an unpleasant sensation.
Rise seemed to truly become an animal at that moment as he ate the monster’s flesh using his mouth alone; his hand did not have the strength or was functional yet to be able to help him at this moment.
The blood of the monster tainted his lips, and yet he did not care; they were like some special delicacy as he devoured them. A while later, Rise sat weakly, licking his lips as he closed his eyes before opening them again, looking at the bones of the monster.
He glanced at his hand and saw patches of green that appeared; he had been poisoned. Yet, he did not bat an eyelid; he only smiled, and then he laughed.
His face then showed a satisfied expression.
He was full. Rise was not hungry anymore... and that matters more.
Now, he could afford to die. Rise looked up and met Danich’s gaze, which had a hint of surprise.
Rise only laughed and fell to the ground again, resting after that meal.
