Chapter 127: Beat Up (2)

Chapter 127: Beat Up (2)

Rise could not recall how many times this psychopath had slammed him to the ground or walls; his mind was filled with both pain and confusion. He did not bother being angry anymore.

Strictly speaking, he had no one to blame for this deadly situation he was in. He could blame those bastards that tricked, but a part of it was his, or most of it.

He did seek out death, after all. However, he was just extremely pissed off by the way this man had continuously tortured him! What was this man trying to accomplish?

Was he just enjoying slamming people to the ground?

And why the fuck was he still alive? Rise had wondered about this since earlier, but it only became apparent as the amount of times he had hit the wall and the ground were too many to count and he was still alive, no... He was still conscious!

What the fuck? Was he always this tenacious? Rise never knew, or maybe because he was never beaten up like this, and he was the one always smashing people to the ground.

Honestly, he preferred being unconscious at this moment.

Rise, now lying bloody on the ground, only decided to rest like a deadman there. He could not even sense his body anymore, although his bones must all be broken after all those thrashings.

He could not hear anything besides the throbbing and ringing in his ears. Rise did not open his eyes and heaved a breath as he continued to wait for another slamming session.

A few minutes passed and none of that happened. Wait, was it possible that the man got bored playing and now chose to end him? That was highly likely.

While he did not open his eyes, he was able to sense the man’s presence, standing beside his blood soaked body, likely looking down on him.

Rise was arrogant, yes, but he could discern their power levels. He messed up big time, that he admitted. Did he regret it? Just a tiny bit...

At this thought, Rise suddenly let out a huff of laughter, coughing up blood as he did so. He did not see the man show some surprise; even he was surprised that Rise was truly alive after all that.

In fact, anyone who had witnessed that would be... scared. Truly terrified of Rise’s tenacity, he was like a cockroach that had unending vitality.

"Why are you laughing, human?" The man asked with interest.

Rise could not hear it clearly since his ears were ringing, but he had managed to perceive it, although the sound was like a broken record.

He did not answer, but he only laughed harder! He might not beat this man, but he could disrespect him as much as he could. Rise was not someone to surrender just because of a certain death.

He loved life and the adventures it held, but he did not fear death in the slightest. If anything, he only felt regretful that he had yet to fight to his heart’s content.

Rise was like a crazy madman laughing so hard, ignoring the difficulty it caused him. He was going to die anyway.

Wow, he was really going to die! The reality was sinking in as the laughter faded; an unsettling peace settled on him. It was odd since he did not feel any fear at all, as normal people would facing their invetable death; he seemed to accept it so easily.

How lame. Rise muttered inwardly. He only hated the fact that he would be dying, not on an exciting and glorious battlefield. Instead, he was going to die by beating up so badly he was barely able to counterattack.

Still, he was only grateful that his cause of death was not starvation or drowning in filth. Rise truly heaved a sigh of relief at that thought.

But... Ironically, he was going to be a food. Rise did not know how to exactly feel about that.

"I’m surprised you’re still alive, human."

Yeah, you’re not the only one. I’m surprised about that myself. Rise retorted inside, not moving an inch still.

A chuckle was heard before the man asked again. "Do you know your fate, human?"

At this question, Rise slowly opened his eyes, wanting to look at the man’s face. He wanted to engrave the man’s face in his mind for the last time so he knew who he was going to haunt once he was dead.

His vision was not clear and had like a curtain of blood preventing him from seeing the other clearly. That was not a problem at all, and he stared at the man.

When he did not answer, the man continued, wearing a demonic grin. So cocky he wanted to punch those lips.

"It’s to be my pet’s food." The other repeated.

Rise almost rolled his eyes at that. He already knew that and even heard it earlier; this man was also dumb and forgetful. Or does he think this line was cool?

The man stared at him, waiting for his reaction.

What? Did this man think he would fall into despair and beg him to keep him alive? No way, he was fucking dreaming.

Rise was going to die anyway; was he afraid to lose more?

Rise then sneered, his lips curling in a taunting manner.

"You ugly dipshit." Rise mouthed, his eyes curving in a pleased smile as he saw the man’s smile falter as though finally offended by the insult.

Rise laughed and suddenly screamed; the man’s palm landed at his stomach, punching him. He vomited mouthfuls of blood, but he did not groan; instead, his pupils shrank.

He laid there and relaxed. Soon, the whole place was plunged into a destructive forcefield, and at the center of it was Rise, laughing like a madman.

He smiled at the man playfully with his bloodstained lips. His face all had such burises and wounds that it was barely recognizeable.

"I’m... not..." going to die alone. Rise’s kiling intent suddenly surged, and in just a moment, the whole impact of the pressure landed in one direction.

It was too fast; the man could not react quickly enough. Rise might not beat this man... But who cares?

He could still kill that monster pet he had.

And so he did.

Only a whimper was heard from the ferocious beast as its last sound before the man held the pieces of flesh that only remain from his once glorious pet, and at the other side was Rise laughing at his loss.

That was a big fuck you from him and his revenge.
