In This Rebirth, The Male Lead Is Mine [BL]
Chapter 113: Mission (1)

Chapter 113: Mission (1)

It was only Rise who would think Kamille was cute. Besides him, no one would even dare or be crazy enough to utter those words to describe Kamille.

Despite the black barrier continuing to exist, Kamille was back to normal, displaying his growing control over the ability. Although most of it was because he had yet to put it off, meaning if he wanted to create another ball of fire, his pupils would turn crimson once more, signaling the return of his extreme personality.

Since he was not in this ’normal state’, Kamille was finally capable again of holding normal and calm conversations. Most of his reason had also returned, and thus he had become reliable once again.

The wild Kamille was one reliable on the battlefield, all kinds of it.

"Do I still need to guide you?" Rise inquired after a few moments of silence.

They did kiss, and as their compatibility was high, perfect even, the guiding came naturally without even them trying sometimes.

Kamille refused; instead, he shifted almost immediately to one he was most concerned with. Rise’s condition.

"How about you?" Kamille looked at Rise, assessing his complexion and also his condition, as he frowned. He could feel Rise’s weakness; if not for him, Rise might not even be able to sit on himself now.

His brows furrowed and he inquired with a hint of anger.

"Did they do something to you? What did you feel?" Kamille suddenly fired a lot of questions, clearly furious despite the subdued tone as though cautious not to startle Rise, who was so weak and fragile in his eyes at this moment.

"That magic circle," Kamille recalled as he rambled, not even wanting for Rise to answer him. "There’s something wrong with it."

Kamille’s tone was certain. He felt it, but he could not connect to it.

Watching Kamille, Rise felt so satisfied, his lips already curved into a smile. His Guild Leader was so worried for him to the point of asking so many questions at once, not as calm as he used to.

He also did not dislike being seen as weak or fragile by Kamille; in fact, he actually loved it deep inside. After all, Rise was strong on his own, and he rarely needed protection.

Once in a while, he loves the feeling of being protected or taken care of like a damn damsel in distress.

"You’re smiling," Kamille squinted his eyes, displeased. "Rise..." he called in a low tone, his expression dark. "I’m serious,"

Rise’s heart raced, looking at that serious yet worried gaze; his heart was so full that he could not suppress it so he was smiling. He could not help but show it.

He tightened his arms around Kamille’s neck as he smiled brightly and filled with satisfaction.

"I’m sorry, Guild Leader, but I’m just happy."

Kamille’s brow shot up as though asking, Happy?

Rise chuckled and nodded his head and lowered his head, burrowing his head on Kamille’s neck as he breathed the very familiar scent, putting him at ease.

"I’m so happy." He murmured and closed his eyes.

When Kamille did not respond, Rise let out a low laughter, finding the situation hilarious. Everything probably was confusing for Kamille when Rise was talking about being happy despite the serious situation. He did not even need to look for his face to know, although it was a pity that he did not manage to do so.

He did not explain though; they did not have much time for that for now.

"Guild Leader," Rise called softly; his breath was now the one tickling Kamille, calming the other. He smiled as he felt this. Rise was just proud to be Kamille’s calm pill at this point.

He then whispered, his voice also becoming weak since Rise was almost in the dreamland again. It seemed staying in that black space not only drained his body but even his soul, and he needed to rest.

"I’m going to sleep, but don’t worry, I’m just resting and will wake up in a few days." Rise hurriedly spoke, his consciousness already pulling him into the slumber.

In fact, when he woke up momentarily, that was only him using all his means since he could feel Kamille’s chaotic emotions through an invisible and incomprehensible connection they had.

So, as a result, he might sleep more.

As much as he wanted to listen more to Kamille’s voice, Rise continued without letting Kamille cut in. He was in a hurry; otherwise, Kamille would be extremely worried for him, not knowing what was happening to him.

"I’ll explain what happened after I wake up, I promise, Guild Leader. I just don’t have the time to do so now. Also, Guild Leader..." Rise’s voice became sluggish as he fought the urge to sleep. This had to be addressed clearly.

"The people outside, the Lionheart Clan... they are... part of... my mission. So... please... spare... th..." Rise did not even manage to finish before he was already off to the dreamland.

His breathing then became even as he fell to his slumber, somehow peacefully.

After a while, a hand tightly wrapped around him as Kamille glanced at his face, watching him sleep for a good few seconds. Silently, he was embraced in the arms of his beloved.

"It’s warm..." Kamille muttered as he specifically checked this out, as Rise’s body was cold when he fell unconscious earlier. With this, most of his worry eased, although there was still confusion.

Eventually, Kamille sighed before he leaned and put a light kiss on Rise’s forehead, his gaze softening. "Sleep well."

Rise knew to push his buttons, but at the same time, he also knew the way to switch them off. Kamille stood up, still holding Rise’s sleeping body in his arms.

Now then, he still has some business to deal with.

Slowly, the black fire curtain was released, and the cave had come into full view once more. While they were there for what seemed like hours, they only stayed for almost ten minutes inside.

Once Kamille appeared, Zenos, who was still in his position holding his father, tensed up in an instant. He looked at Kamille with vigilance, holding his father tightly.

Kamille looked down on him, but noticeably his expression, aura, and gaze were less intimidating or threatening than before. Zenos felt like this was the Kamille he had first met.

Still, he did not lower his guard.

"You’re still here," Kamille spoke calmly.

"What do you mean?"

Kamille did not immediately respond; he looked around; a mess of bodies was sprawled around. Most of them seemed on the brink of their deaths, and immediate medical attention was needed.

Everyone was part of Rise’s mission and therefore should not die here.

He shifted his gaze back to Zenos, who was almost killed by him. Kamille did not show any guilt or being sorry; he was not unlike any drunk person who would say things they did were not his intention or that he did not remember.

Every action of him, no matter what state, was him.

"Do you want them to die?" Kamille then asked, sounding provocative and offensive.

Zenos’ eyes turned to one with hostility, but before he could say anything, Kamille continued. He stepped forward, embracing the man in his arms gently. He walked with careful movements.

"You don’t?" Kamille only locked gazes with Zenos as the wind slowly kept up to the cave; earlier it was black fire, and now it was wind that dominated inside.

"W-What are you doing?" Zenos’ eyes widened as he felt the wind also envelop him and his father.

When he looked around, the unconscious elders were also now floating in the air as the wind surrounded them.

"They need to live." And so Kamille would make sure they would live. He began to take a step as the unconscious elders floating in the air also trailed behind. Before he stepped too far, he turned his glance once more at Zenos.

"That one too, he needs to live." Kamille turned ahead and began to walk, but he still sighed and muttered one last sentence when he deduced Zenos would ask something again.

"Stop any questions if you want your father to live or anyone here."

He did not wait for him anymore and hurried to live; the elders needed to be treated as soon as possible. Some elders were even too critical; their mana was too drained from inside their bodies, giving too many complications to their lives.

In a world where mana was too important and already integrated inside one’s body and soul, mana drain was often the most critical case of death.

Zenos looked at Kamille’s back and then at his father. Right, he had so many questions, but Kamille was right. It was best to treat his father and the elders first.

Swallowing his unease, he carried his father to his back and soon followed Kamille out of the path.

After Rise fell asleep, he only truly rested, as he did not dream. It was such a dreamless night that it seemed the time only stopped, and he slept peacefully.

Of course, not like him, the outside world was not as peaceful.

From an estimated a few days of sleep, Rise overestimated his exhaustion, as when he woke up, one week had already passed.
