I Would Rather Be a Rogue [BL]
Chapter 77: Concerns and Worries

Chapter 77: Concerns and Worries

Returning to his room, the first thing Felix did was to pull the fox from underneath his shirt, and toss him on the bed. "No more hiding under my shirt for you!"

Remi curled up, looking up at Felix, his piercing blue eyes dripping with sadness, as if Felix had just handed him some sort of terrible punishment. Even though he brought it upon himself! Who asked him to snatch food from the fork Felix was using? It’s not like he had to do it, the Omega had every intention of feeding him, that’s why he didn’t protest when Kade scooped so much food onto his plate. He was going to feed a good chunk of it to Remi, just not using the same cutlery!

And then, as if it wasn’t enough, Remi had to stir around under his shirt, tickling Felix’s waist with his fluffy tail! It wasn’t just the fox adjusting his position, but rather clearly done deliberately, Remi playing around, caressing the Omega’s body...

What a perverted fox! At first, Felix didn’t mind letting him hide in his skin-to-skin top, since he thought it was just for practicality. He had just given birth, and thus his body wasn’t the most attractive, with his belly still bulging, and the loose skin... But apparently that wasn’t enough to stop Remi from having dirty thoughts! (And causing Felix to have some as well...)

As expected, you shouldn’t trust a fox!

"Don’t look at me like that!" Felix harrumphed, turning his back to Remi. He had to, or else he wouldn’t be able to hide the smile tugging on the corners of his lips. Honestly, he didn’t know whether he should get angry or laugh... The fox’s behavior was very much indecent, but it also helped lift Felix’s mood, and turn his attention away from Kade, distracting him from the whining of his wolf, which made his head hurt.

But he still left Remi behind when he went to check up on Vivi. No matter how cute the fox tried to act, he still had to be taught a lesson.

Luckily, as Felix went to the neonatal unit, his wolf finally quieted down, sensing the presence of their daughter. It instantly forgot about Kade, and focused all of its attention on Vivi. After all, while their fated mate might have been important, he couldn’t even begin to compare to their pup...

He stayed by his daughter’s side for a long while, completely unaware of the passing of time. Although it was late, he didn’t even think about returning to his room, the nurses had to literally shoo him away, urging him to get some rest, or else he might have stayed in the NICU till morning. It was already past midnight when he finally returned.

Getting changed in the bathroom (he couldn’t do it in the room, even though it was a single, since his perverted fox was there), he noticed the numbers on his arm, and only then he remembered about Fen. He searched for his phone, which he hadn’t used since getting admitted, too preoccupied with other things, until he finally found it in the bedside table. He tried to turn it on...

To no avail. It was completely out of battery. Felix sighed, taking a look around...

And then, Remi jumped onto his lap, holding the charger in his mouth. Trying to act like a peaceful, obedient pet, huh?

...But it was Remi who brought the charger to the hospital in the duffel bag he packed, so Felix had no choice but to soften up, rubbing the fox’s furry head as a reward. "Thank you," he said, letting Remi turn his lap into the pillow, as he connected his phone to the charger.

The moment his phone finally turned on, he was assaulted by the countless notifications. Plenty of missed calls and messages from Kade, starting from the afternoon the day before, and going all the way until now, with the last message sent five minutes ago.

Felix ignored them for now - he had just met with the Alpha earlier in the evening, so it wasn’t urgent - and moved on to the rest. There were a few missed calls from Brielle, from before she came to the hospital, and calls and messages from his coworkers, primarily Eden, asking how he and his daughter were. A small smile appeared on Felix’s face, as he quickly typed the answers, letting everyone know that he had given birth, and they were still in the hospital, but they were both okay.

Once that was all done, he quickly added Fen’s number, sending him a short message so that Fen would have his number as well (if he hadn’t gotten it from Kade yet, that is), and went to wash up. That was what he was about to do earlier, after all, he only stopped so that the number on his arm wouldn’t get washed away.

When he returned to his room a few minutes later, he had a few more messages waiting for him already. One from Fen, just thanking him for the message and wishing him good night... And the rest from Kade. Complaining that Felix had time to text with Fen, but didn’t even read any of his messages!

Felix let out a sigh, rubbing his forehead as he sat down on the bed. He opened the chat, quickly scrolling through it, skimming through the messages... Until he reached some of the more recent ones, sent after Kade and Fen’s hospital visit, squeezed between the whining about Felix agreeing to exchange the numbers with Fen so easily, and the complaints about being ignored that were still coming.

...Kade really had too much time on his hands. And could type way too fast. How was he even able to send so many messages in such a short span of time? And most of them were typed, not audio recordings (probably because he knew it was unlikely Felix would bother to listen to them).

But that was not the point. One of the earlier messages read, [When will you be able to leave the hospital? Go out, not discharged. I want to do some shopping for the pup, and I would like you to come with me, so that we could choose together!]

...Right.

Felix tapped the phone on his lips.

Shopping for the pup. He had already bought most of the things he needed... But he still needed a pram and a cot. Urgently. And betting on the things from Eden’s friend could not be the best idea, since Felix didn’t know what state they were in, and if he’d be willing to buy them... And also, since he would have to take his daughter back to Silverfall from the city, he probably would need a car seat... It seemed like a bit of a waste of money, since Felix didn’t have a car and probably wouldn’t use it after this one time, but Silverfall was an hour’s drive away, so there was nothing he could do.

There was no need to decide right away, though, since he was going to be stuck in the hospital with Vivi at least for a few more days. So, for now, he just silenced his phone, and lay down. Although his head was full of concerns and worries, the moment it hit the pillow, Felix immediately drifted off to sleep.
