I Would Rather Be a Rogue [BL]
Chapter 78: Didn’t Pack Well

Chapter 78: Didn’t Pack Well

In the end, Felix agreed to go shopping with Kade and Fen. Two days later, when he had mostly recovered his strength after giving birth, enough to walk around for a few hours. Although he was reluctant to go out, leaving his daughter behind in the hospital, even for a few hours... Now was the best time. Based on what the doctors said, Vivi should be well enough to be taken out of the NICU in a day or two, and she would be transferred to Felix’s room for the rest of their stay. Then, Felix would be even more reluctant to leave her.

Besides, she wasn’t left alone. There were plenty of nurses to take care of her... And Remi was also staying behind, so he would be able to watch over her.

Of course, that wasn’t enough to completely ease Felix’s nerves... But he had to get used to separating from her, he repeated to himself. Otherwise, how was he going to deal with it, once the time came to leave Vivi in the nursery so that he could return to work? And earn money so that he could provide his pup with a decent living?

So, he left, albeit unwillingly, to buy the almost unnecessary car seat... and probably also a few more things.

When he went downstairs, Kade and Fen were already waiting for him in the hospital lobby. Both wearing fancy, expensive, tailored suits... Felix looked completely out of place next to them. For some reason, none of the clothes he got from Kade could be found in the duffel bag Brielle had brought, thus he had no choice but to wear his old, cheap clothes. Not that he minded - those were just clothes - but...

Kade clearly did. When he noticed Felix’s attire, his brows immediately furrowed. He didn’t comment on that, though.

Instead, he just brought Felix to the fanciest shopping mall in the city, which sold many of the high-end fashion brands.

"...I thought we were going to shop for baby things?" Felix couldn’t help but ask, as they stepped into one of the brightly lit shops with glossy flooring and luxurious perfume wafting in the air. It appeared rather empty, with a very weird ratio of clothing racks compared to the available space... Quite unlike what Felix was used to, which immediately tipped him off as to what kind of store they were in, even before he noticed the labels.

A store that could completely ruin his monthly budget in two accessories or less.

"We are," Kade agreed, "We’re going to just make a quick stop here first, since I’ve noticed you didn’t pack well for your hospital stay..."

It was Remi who had packed him, actually, but Felix couldn’t tell that to Kade. First, because how could a ’normal’ fox possibly be capable of packing his bag? And second... Was it really just a coincidence that none of Kade’s gifts ended up getting packed? Even though they were the best clothes the Omega had?

So instead, Felix tried to explain himself, "It’s because it was so unexpected. Most of my good clothes were in the wash..."

That seemed to lift Kade’s mood quite a bit. If they were in the wash, that must have meant that Felix was wearing them! "I understand," he nodded his head with a smile. "But if all your good clothes were in the wash at the same time, that means you don’t have enough of them!"

Or Felix could be just bad at managing his laundry, but even if he tried to argue that - which wasn’t even the truth, he managed his household chores well - it was unlikely Kade would be willing to change his mind regarding their shopping trip.

"Well, fine, but let’s go somewhere else," he sighed, finally giving up. "I know it might come as a surprise to an esteemed Young Master such as yourself, but not everyone can afford to shop at high-end stores... And I don’t want anyone to just buy me expensive gifts," he quickly added, before Kade had a chance to say anything.

"Hmm. In this case..." Kade rubbed his chin, thinking for a while. Just as Felix thought he had won the argument, though, the Alpha suddenly grabbed him by the jacket... And tore his sleeve.

"Oh, no. I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to do that..."Kade gasped theatrically, shock and regret painted all over his face. Obviously very fake shock and regret, that is. "What to do, what to do... I guess now that I accidentally destroyed your jacket, I have no choice but to compensate you by buying you new clothes!"

"It’s just one old jacket..."

"Yes, it’s old. Therefore, it must have a sentimental value!" Kade exclaimed, suppressing the smile that tugged on the corners of his lips, as he tried to maintain his fake seriousness. "A jacket like that is priceless... I’m afraid that even if I were to buy this whole store, it still wouldn’t be enough to make up for my mistake."

"It really isn’t..." Felix tried to argue, but Kade had already gestured at the shop assistant loitering nearby and waiting for a good moment to approach them.

"Miss, could you help us here?" he asked, flashing a charming smile at the poor, young assistant, causing a slight blush to blossom on her powdered cheeks. "Please help us find the best fits for this Omega here!"

The shop assistant didn’t need to be told twice. Although young, she had worked in the store long enough to evaluate customers at a glance. The two Alphas were clearly loaded, and they looked like the types who were not afraid to spend! As for the Omega that was with them... He seemed poor, but it didn’t matter, since he wasn’t the one who was going to pay! And he was pretty enough that anything would look good on him, thus making her job this time easy. She already felt excited thinking about the commission she would earn!

And just like that, before Felix had a chance to protest, he ended up being whisked away.
