Chapter 552: The Seven-Year Training Plan (2)
The cow and the other guardians continued their long explanation about the pros of their plan, just in case Adam had the terrible idea to increase his tier behind their backs.
More than a mythical item, sun-grade cultivation techniques usually allowed cultivators to process regular Qi into spiritual energy.
Like mana control for mages, it was the key to progress through the cultivator tiers while minimising the bottlenecks. After all, spiritual energy was condensed Qi. Much denser, it would shatter the dan tian’s walls without trouble up to the eight-tier.
Adam nodded after the explanation. More than convinced, an inferno of desire burned in his eyes as he clenched his baby’s fists.
’I doubt the sect leader will hand it to me. So, do you have a plan?’
The guardians gazed at each other, confused by the question. Then, they exploded into laughter before the serpent ruffled his hair.
"Nothing is easier, really. Show the sect your talent! Crush every outer disciple. Then, every inner and core one, again and again, until they label you the strongest genius of this millennium." A wistful smile broadened on his face. "If you can do it, the sect leader will offer you to become his disciple. He’ll teach you the cultivation technique by then."
Despite the good news, Adam rolled his eyes.
’Won’t everyone scrutinise me no matter what I do?’ He clicked his tongue. ’I hate attention!’
Even if he enjoyed boasting before his friends, when did he scream he was a tier seven alchemist and enchanter? The same applied to his strength. He used it only when he had to.
The serpent snickered at his reservations.
"I don’t know how it works where you came from." His eyes narrowed into slits. "But having strength and not showing it is a sin here. Modesty won’t get you anything." He pointed at the cow, the movement dramatic, as his voice echoed with fiery passion. "Look at her! She is the kindest but the first to go on a rampage to impose her ideas. Everyone’s the same! You must fight against ten, then a hundred and then a thousand geniuses to be the one to get what you want!"
Adam sighed, his shoulders slumping in defeat.
’Fine! I’ll act like a cocky bastard and beat everyone black and blue.’
Simultaneously, Misha emerged from the house and ran to them.
"Teach me, too! I’ll go to the sect and beat everyone!"
He rolled his eyes at her before his lips curled into a smirk.
’I told you I was the best teacher. Look! You can already speak this realm’s language.’
Misha pulled the skin under her left eye and stuck her tongue out.
"I learned it myself. You only corrected my pronunciation in the beginning!"
Meanwhile, the spider moved to her and patted her head. Then, his lips twisted, and he shook his head.
"You can’t cultivate without a dan tian, child..."
Before he could continue, Misha’s golden eyes sparkled like those of a predatory hawk as she grabbed his hand. She squeezed it next, applying the same pressure a coconut crab would.
Heart racing against his chest, the spider’s eyes enlarged in disbelief.
"What kind of monster are you?!"
His hand trembled, not because of her grip but because he felt the amalgamation of wild beasts’ traits in her DNA.
"A monster who assimilates what it eats! Bring me a cultivator, and I’ll have a dan tian." She released his hand and dusted hers. "Problem solved."
The other guardians gazed at her, their breathing hastening and their instincts roaring in their ears: that little girl is a calamity to their species... no, to their realm and the universe itself.
Meanwhile, Adam struck his head with his hand as his voice cracked in anger.
’See what showing strength brings? Troubles! You’re all seeing her as a threat now. But I warn you.’ Dense wisps of blue mana wafted from his eyes. ’You can forget about my cooperation if you touch her.’
A warm sensation spread around Misha’s chest. Her lips curled into a bright smile as she snatched Adam from the crane’s trembling hands.
"That’s my little Adam! Don’t let them bully your big sister."
An awkward silence enveloped them as Adam held his ground in this wordless face-off.
He won’t let Misha suffer again. Not after what Ignatius did to her. Instead, they’ll have fun together exploring this realm while searching for a method to return to the magic world.
After ten seconds, the cow sighed.
"Her potential is even more terrifying than yours if she can evolve limitlessly. Think about it. What if she devours cities, countries, and then worlds..."
Before she could continue, Adam cut her off, his gurgle icy.
’I’m not negotiating. I trust Misha with my life and soul.’ He exhaled and swiped his fist. ’She’s coming with me. Now, start the training.’
The guardians scrutinised his firm facial features and shook their heads.
If not for his insistence, they would have snuffed the threat before it could grow. But since Adam spoke for her so passionately, they considered giving her the benefit of the doubt.
After gazing at each other briefly, they nodded, sharing the same thought: we’ll observe her during these seven years.
Then, the spider raised his hand.
"Since you’re still a baby, we’ll focus on theories for half the day. I’ll introduce Qi forging to you for the next six months. Then, we’ll delve into more intricate knowledge and practical applications."
The serpent followed.
"I’ll teach you alchemy for the other half of the day. I’ll also expose you to various poisons to build your immunity."
Adam rolled his eyes at the stupid training.
’Why is everyone trying to hurt me? Stuff yourself with your poison and leave me alone.’
The cow and the crane sighed on the side. With nothing to teach a baby, they turned to Misha.
"We’ll train your sister until you’re old enough to walk." They knelt before her and raised her golden hair to look into her eyes. "You can grow endlessly by devouring, but you can also do it by training. I hope this experience will teach you that strength gained through effort will bring you more satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment."
Misha nodded, a soft smile creeping on her lips.
"You’re all worrying too much. I only want to explore the world with Adam. Strength doesn’t matter to me as long as we have enough to ensure our safety."
Everyone sighed in relief while Adam smiled at her.
Then, they separated to start their training under the strict yet kind valley guardians.
